Forgotten: No one can escape. A great flash emerged above all of Aronia leaving each with short term memory loss. Years lost to the fog of amnesia. Can no one recall? That appears to be the case. Whom or what is responsible? Panic has stricken the globe. Will civilization collapse? What will emerge from the reset? Only time will tell. To each citizen of Aronia from the Global Gazette, we wish all luck.
Welcome to Aronia. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Nicholette noticed the how the woman was almost eager to lock the door and smiled and and nodded politely. There wasn't much to be said at the moment. Was security in this city that bad? Or this part of the city? It went against all of the tales she had heard. The distinct sound of crinkling papers was audible in their lack of conversation. Knowing your surroundings was a must in Nicholette's profession. Her attention to detail only enhanced by the morning's refreshments, but perhaps that was just her point of view.

Nicholette took the tea and held it in her hands for it too cool. There was nothing more irritating than a scorched tounge.

"Yeah, work is necissary to survive anywhere," Nicholette didn't really know what the woman had for her to do. Granted there wasn't anything she wouldn't do, well...yeah, anything. Either way, her original goal was not lost to her. She had come here for a reason, and Nicholette always finished what she started.

OOC: Yeah, it ended kinda cheesey....lol but I don't have much time here on the comp. I'm at the library now too. lol gotta do what you gotta do.

"So it is... So it is..." Sabre sighed, plopping gracefully into her stuffed armchair. Drawing one leg up, she crossed it over the other as she seemed to think about the words she would say next.

"The job offer I have for you is a challenging one. It is, by all means, dangerous. Judging by your actions yesterday, I am assuming you're no stranger to danger." She chuckled quietly at the rhyme she'd accidentally spouted off, but her smile disappeared from her face as soon as it had appeared. "Your sword... it is not unused to being coated in blood. I can always tell the difference between a virgin sword and a well, not virgin. Yours is as familiar with battle as either Althea or Virote here." At this, she motioned to the sword at her right hip and then the one at her left.

Catching her breath some, she took a few sips of tea between her words.

"So, the job offer. I realize you don't particularly care for my servant and bodyguard, Norban, but to be honest, I am in need of someone else to help watch my back."

She was not using the charm spell with which she'd snagged Norban the day before, but her smile was unnaturally beautiful this morning. Drow did not smile, after all, or at least not genuinely happily.

"A war is brewing. It's about to boil over, at which point this city will need defenders. The wereguards are excellent fighters who will fight to the end, but I don't think they'll be able to stand against all of the magic I sense bubbling around the city. Have you ever fought against magic, Nicholette? If you accept my offer and you have not, I'll gladly train you."

Sabre stopped for a moment, letting out a quiet breath. She didn't want to think about Nicholette's other option. The city needed heroes, especially with the Queen in her mortal state. Sabre's spine tingled. Something big had happened that she'd missed, but she pushed the thoughts to the back of her mind. Instead, she focused on trying to forge a new alliance.

"If you do not wish to accept my offer, then at least do me the honor of keeping quiet about everything I've said here today." Sabre's voice held grave concern as she kept to her character. The foremost thoughts on her mind resembled emotions of hurt, dejection and sorrow. If Nicholette rejected Sabre's offer, she would simply work a little bit of her voodoo. The parchment with a short-term memory loss spell on it was stuffed just up her flowy sleeve, out of eyesight, but close enough to her fingers that she could reach up and pull it out in a flash.

"So, what will it be Nicholette?"
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.
Kaylee: He looks kinda mean.
Wash: That's sorta what I meant.
Simon: This must be what going mad feels like.
Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me...

Nicholette smiled an nodded politely. She may have been a rag tag girl, but etiquette was not lost. The reference to her sword was accurate. She had stuck quite a few with the blades. The woman's smile after Nicholette's dislike for the dirty dog confused her for a moment. Shrugging to herself, she continued to listen. The woman needed someone to have her back and Nicholette could do that without compromising her primary objective. She never had experiance with magic. The fools she went after were drug lords and criminals.

"Well, I've never had the need for magic," Nicholette smirked, "Swords usually do the job." Taking a sip of the tea, she made a quick decision.

"I'll be another sword and the training in magic would be no problem." Perhaps it was the sobriety, but Nicholette was a bit intimidated by the magical part of the deal.

The creature moved through the castle, retracing it's steps on back towards Victoria's room. A few of the gaurds seemed to watch it with suspicion but it really couldn't tell. There wolfish faces were not as easily read as those who looked more like people. Yet they didn't stop it, as they probably knew it was associated with the priestess perhaps.

Reaching Victoria's chambers it quietly moved it's way back into the room. Although it wasn't as quiet as it had been at previous moments, it was no longer lumbering about. It took a chair and brought it to Victoria's bedside. There it sat and watched her. Something seemed uncomfortable about her in her current state. There it waited, without a word, for her to awake and answer the questions that now filled its head.

OOC:Sorry for the short post. I am in a hurry to get to school and post. I know I should probably have waited till I got back but oh well.

OOC: We all have short posts sometimes. No worries! :)

“Another wanderer, returned, Love.” Gwenefiere smiled up to Alain, as he closed the door. She nodded that he was right, in direction, and began down the hall, back toward the temple. “One of the Guards informed me of his return, though I am not sure why he is in the infirmary. His name is Xaomen, I don’t believe Auroth met him, and I am sure that you haven’t. He is a very dear friend though. He fought on our side a great many times.” She smiled, over to him, seeing the little dragon’s display of affection. “You should know him though, he is part of our history. I haven’t seen him in ages, actually.” She smiled a little, but it was lost seeing the shift in his features. For a moment he looked haggard, and sick. Stopping mid-stride, She reached out to him, laying a gentle hand on his arm. The queen only peered at him questioningly, even after he spoke, before she stated bluntly, but in no way coldly…

“I don’t believe you...” She stepped to him, looking up from under dark lashes. She knew that that was not it. There was no way he could think she would fall for that. She almost could have laughed at the absurdity of his smile, but didn’t, because she didn’t want him to be self conscious. She could tell that something was bothering him, badly. Laying her other hand against his chest, she searched his face. “What is wrong Alain?” She may have been less concerned had he acted like that before, but she had not seen that in him. What would make that expression come to his face? She didn’t know, not yet anyways. “Are you going to be alright?” Gwen would pry it out of him if she had to, but that didn’t feel right. What she really wanted was for him to just trust her, and tell her what was going on with him. But it was up to him, when it came right down to it. She fiddled with one of the seams on his front, watching her fingers. “You know that I cannot help you unless you let me in…” Her eyes returned to his, shimmering like sapphire jewels in the hall light.

"Well, I look forward to meeting him then."

He was going to walk along with her when she called him on his bluff, he should have known she would... he looked back to her eyes as she came back over to him, and he felt his stomach drop - how could he possibly explain this to her while still reminding her how he felt for her...? Finally he looked down and then spoke.

"I... Gwen I can't tell you what these past few days have meant to me... finding this place, finding you, Victoria... it's all filled a hole in my heart I've felt my entire life, but... being away from the rest of my family has opened another one... especially Althia..."

Alia nuzzled against his cheek, her glittering blue-green eyes sad. She knew how it was between Alain and his twin. Alain smiled a little to her, then he looked back to Gwen, putting his arms around her and shaking his head.

"I'm sorry... I don't want you to think this means even for a second I haven't been truly happy, or that I'm not now... it's just... ever since we were born we could always feel each other. Even if I was on the other side of the world I could at least feel her there, but when I came here it was just ripped away from me... I think that was the worst part of the whole thing... elves can't shoot anyways."

He smiled just slightly, trying to reassure her.

"I'll be alright. Just had a headache is all. Come on, let's go find this wanderer."

Victoria went in and out of conciousness as her body reparied itself. However, it seemed her subconcious wanted her to relive another traumatizing event in her life. Perhaps she had grown too soft in the heart and bringing herself so close to death again brought back defensive measures. This time she saw the child again, however he was grown. Eyes full of fire as was his heart. Victoria had been in her chambers, his enterance unexpected. In fact, she had not seen him for a few years. The last she saw of him, he was a young teen but now a man.

"Ashkii," Her voice exposing the shock to see him before her. He walked towards Victoria, taking her hands in his.

"I know I am not allowed here, but I had-" His eyes fell onto the glass globe. Dropping her hands, Ashkii walked to the small table and picked up the colorful glass, "You still have this?" Victoria smiled and nodded.

"Of course." Reaching out, he took her hand and pulled Victoria closer to him.

"Then you will find my purpose here excusable for my actions," Mind still spinning from his appearance, Victoria just shook her head and he continued, "You gave me a home and love when I was too young to have such on my own," Ashkii pulled Victoria closer to him as he spoke, "Now I want to repay you,"

"Ashkii, you know that is not necissary,"His smile comforted Victoria, she was glad to see him again. It had been far too long.

"Yes, it is,"His grip tightened, "Neither of us have family of our own. You love me, I love you." Victoria began to pull away, the turn of the conversation unnerving.

"Ashkii, you are my son,"Her words only drawing a shake of the head.

"No, Victoria, I am not. Victoria opened her mouth to speak but he continued, "We should have our own family and together the child will be stronger than we were," Victoria pulled herself free and crossed the room to put space between them.

"Stop. What you speak of can not happen, I will not allow it," Ashkii followed her, standing only a few inches away.

"You do not love me?" Victoria sighed and shook her head.

"Of course I do, but not like, Victora could not form the words, she had never expressed anything other than maternal feelings for him. Ashkii's features grew darker. Taking her by the shoulders, Victoria let him hold her against the wall. He needed a chance.

"I want you as my wife, mother of my children Victoria." His voice was demanding, Victoria could see the direction of the conversation. The room outside of the memory dropped in temperature just as it had within the memory. Frost slowly climbed the surfaces and the breath of Victoria and Ashkii momentarily blocked the view of eachother. Victoria's breath from her sleeping figure too was visible on the air.

"No, Ashkii." His eyes almost bore a hole through hers and he pressed her firmer against the wall.

"How can you deny me, deny us?"
"Ashkii, please, do not do this," Her words infuriated him more so. Releasing her shoulders, Victoria thought he accepted her refusal. He took a step back and she began to as well but was stopped. Ashkii took her skirt in his fists and pulled it to her waist. She kept silent, words would do no good. Lifting her by the thighs, Askii balanced Victoria against the wall. She could have cried for him, for the disregard, for a lost relationship. Still, Victoria could not hate him for what he was doing. It was understandable almost expected.

"We will have a family," His repetition further proving the lack of thought. The temperature dropped as he continued. Unfastening his own pants, Victoria waited for the inevitable. Before he further invaded her personal space, Ashkii did precisely what Victoria waited for. With his eyes on her lips, the moment his met hers Ashkii fell to the floor. As Victoria watched the motionless body, her eyes opened and the vision ended as abruptly as it had began.

Movement was near impossible. Turning her head, Victoria saw the shattered glass and her heart ached. Again turning her head to the other direction, she saw the creature. Victoria lifted a few fingers towards him, as that was the most movement she could muster. The memory was still fresh in her mind however, and she began to rethink the situation. The creature's prior actions she had almost completely forgave. How could she deny such words? It was the same creature now only wiser. Her use would be up again, regardless of the connection through the blood. Her eyes held the question as she thought. She had no choice but to trust the creature now, she could hardly defend herself.

The creature sat there, watching Victoria as she seemed restless even in her rather immobile state. Its head started feeling light and it hunched forward. The world recoiling into an inky blackness as its eyes closed.

He sat back up straight to look upon the same woman who had been hanging off his arm in the markets. Anger, grief, and sorrow filled him. He was helpless as he watched her lay in her bed slowly dying. The poison used was apparently a cruel one, no cure found and it was so slow. She was unconcious luckily, but she had become so pale and sweating refusily. Even though she slept it was all too obvious she was in pain.

His elbows rested upon his knees and he hunched forward again, hiding his face in his hands as tears rolled down his cheeks. Caring not for the aproaching footsteps that halted at the entry to the room. It mattered not if someone saw him like this.

"Ser, our interrogations have given us a name." he gritted his teeth. The only thing he could do was avenge this crime upon his loved one. He would raise an entire army if need be, and likely it would. What he had to do no longer mattered, he would make the lands bleed until he found the culprit. He let his hands drop into his lap as he slowly brought his gaze up to look upon her one last time before he left.

The creature's eyes were a soft brown for a second, though the slowly changed back to their teal colour as he looked at Victoria. A single tear rolling down its cheek. It's eyes still moist but its expression was blank. The flashback a hazey memory now that it could not completely recall. Seeing her hand move it slowly stood and walked to her bedside. It was a bit confused by her current state as well, such a powerful creature and yet here she was hardly able to move. It said nothing because it knew not what to say, it stood there because it knew not what to do.

Victoria could see the dampness of his eyes but for him to have emotion did not cross her mind. Instead, she feared he may have been hurt in a fight of sorts. Perhaps dirt had been throwin in his face and his eyes still suffered. Considering she could move her head, surely she could speak.

"Are you hurt?" The words themselves were almost forced from her throat; she was quite parched. Searching the creature's face, Victoria tried to observe any non verbal communication. The room slowly warmed to the cool temperature of a typical basement as she regained some motor skills. The frost that covered many objects melted, leaving a dew-like coat. Victoria wiggled her toes simply to test her movement.

"Great!" Sabre's amethyst eyes lit up immediately at Nicholette's agreement. Inside her sleeve, her pinky pushed the scroll up further so that as it fell back towards her hand, it was caught in a secret pocket.

"When shall we begin? I'm ready here and now if you'd like." An eager grin was plastered to the Drow's face, but she managed to keep the rest of her appearance composed. "I've another student to teach, as well, if you wouldn't mind combined lessons... Well, I suppose I wouldn't say combined, as he's adept at dealing with magic I think, but not so much at wielding a sword."

Finishing her cup of tea, she flicked her wrist at Norban. The large werewolf nodded from his corner and moved to the door. He fumbled with the lock, bringing a small smile to Sabre's lips. She unlocked it for him with another flick of her wrist and the canine beast hurried out the door in search of the man whom the dark lady called Alain.
