Forgotten: No one can escape. A great flash emerged above all of Aronia leaving each with short term memory loss. Years lost to the fog of amnesia. Can no one recall? That appears to be the case. Whom or what is responsible? Panic has stricken the globe. Will civilization collapse? What will emerge from the reset? Only time will tell. To each citizen of Aronia from the Global Gazette, we wish all luck.

The queen's momentarily silence did not surprise Victoria in the least. Giving Alain a soft elbow jab in the ribs, she smiled.

"I'm not a little girl anymore, I can whoop you," She was joking around, but the statement was partially true. Victoria listened to the queen as she spoke, letting her express how she felt. It wasn't as if she was human often. Her need to be changed would be easily fulfilled. Victoria began to reply, but her attention was caught by the creature's movements. For him to approach them so aggressively and then to just remove himself was rather odd. What had caused him to choose to simply leave? In some way, Victoria felt responsible for his self seclusion. Considering everyone's involvement, Victoria went on her first impression. The ritual room was just beyond the library as well.

"Let's change you then," Victoria had no problem performing the ritual. It actually would benefit them all if going to Marsotp was a possibility.

"You should join us, Aur..Alain," She had to catch herself since it would probably only confuse him more. However, if he truly wanted to remember, things would come easier if he actually took his true role as Auroth, "You will learn more about our world," Turning to walk towards the statue that held the door, Victoria paused at the fountain to take a chalice of the blood that would be used in the ritual.

"Meet me in the ritual hall, I've got to find a few items from the library," She looked back to the two. There were a few things needed in order to bring the queen back to her original form. They would have quite an eventful afternoon.

Continuing her path to the statue, Victoria descended the stairs and made her way to the library again. Closing the door behind her, Victoria rather Gwen and Alain not see her true purpose for coming to the library after the statement she had made. Approaching the table that the creature worked at, she set the glass down on the large oak table in the middle of the room. The creature wrote at a pace that it had not as they spoke before. Victoria really did not know what to say to him, she had wondered why he reacted as he had. Victoria aknowledged his presence and tried to assure him she was safe so he would not have to go to any exteremes.

Yeah, but then, I'm a pretty lucky guy.

He smiled a little bit, and Alia looked up at him for a moment, then snuggled into his arms, and he held her a little closer. Poor girl...

"I missed you too, Alia..."

When Victoria left to the library - right after the creature, Alain raised an eyebrow, then shook his head a little.

"I still go by Alain, so you dont forget next time."

he laughed slightly, and walked back over to Gwen.

"Accepted or not I think she still wishes I wasn't a human. But then again perhaps not minding being mortal is unusual here, huh? In our little circle I mean."

He laughed slightly and kissed her cheek, then he looked down at Alia again, who was drifitng off to sleep, and he closed his eyes.

"So she thinks I should go to the ceremony as well.... well you certainly can't go to a casino town as is... I suppose the whole prospect of the ceremony has me a bit... off. On Terra any such thing would be firmly a Splicer ceremony... dont be offended, old prejudices against changing... and I know this is really unchanging... you get the picture though. I'll go. I don't think it's right not to..."

Sabre's face kept a polite smile gracing its lips as she watched Nicholette's physical response to her compliment. A knowing look glinted in her violet eyes as she shifted them down to her tea before taking a quick sip.

"Yes, Ombra di Notta is far from poor. But what can you expect from a place with beautiful landscapes - buildings included - lush farmlands, and more powerful magic than more than likely any other other city in Aronia?" she chuckled lightly. "If it's work you're looking for that pays well, I may be able to help you. Of course, it depends on the type of work you're looking for. Perhaps tomorrow, we can get together for lunch and I can tell you what I know while I show you the town. How's that sound, hmm?"

Setting down her half-empty teacup, she smiled across at Nicholette and leaned back in her chair, relaxing more. Nichollete seemed nice enough and Sabre was fairly certain that she didn't work for the eveil sorceror whose current goal was to destroy Ombra di Notta... But there was just something about the woman that bugged Sabre. There was something Nicholette wasn't telling her and she intended to find out what. Just not now. Now she had to go down and check and Kael and Norban, come back up and clean up shop, and then go up and check on the boy. The boy! She'd almost forgotten about him!

"If that sounds like a good idea to you, please meet me here tomorrow a little before mid-day. For now, I've got to go check on my horse and a little boy who's been waiting for me all day. 'Tis been quite a busy one, I tell you." Rising from her chair, Sabre motioned politely for Nicholette to follow her to the door, which opened as they got closer.

"I hope to see you tomorrow, Lady Nicholette," she said quietly. Pulling a few leaves from seemingly nowhere, she put them in Nicholette's hand. "This should cover your stay here for at least a week. Have a good night, my dear."

As soon as Nicholette was out of sight, Sabre turned and hurried to the door which led to the basement staircase. The front door shut and locked itself. Blinking, her eyes adjusted to the inky blackness she was now scurrying down the stairs into. As she reached the bottom, she hurried over to where Norban was struggling to figure out how to put Kael's gear away. A small grin played at the corners of Sabre's lips as she moved to help him. In just a few moments, the gear was stored in its proper place and Sabre had a bucket of fresh water and one with a grainy concoction specific for Kael's odd tastes sitting in front of him. "Come, Norban. I'll show you where your sleeping quarters are. Goodnight Kael my love."

After blowing a kiss to the dark horse, Sabre grabbed the large werewolf's wrist and quickly guided him up the stairs to the ground level. "While I fix things up here, go on up and get your room the way you want it. It's the second door on the right - it should be unlocked. There's bedding in the closet if you need or want it. I'll be up shortly to check and make sure things are well with you." Norban nodded his head in acknowledgement and, with a small growl, made his way up the stairs two at a time. Following the dark woman's orders, he found his room, noting the odd smell coming from the first room and stepped inside. It was small and bare, but it was better than the horrid place he had to sleep back at the cave with that ugly, smelly fat guy. Grabbing some of the pillows and blankets from the closet, he threw them on the floor in a big, fluffy pile. Yes, this would be a much better place to sleep than that cold, damp, smelly place. The dark woman was nice. Very, very nice. Norban's eyes slipped closed and a small sigh left his canine maw as he drifted off into a pleasant sleep for the first time in months.

Downstairs, Sabre picked up the tea set and put it back under the counter where it would clean itself in just a few moments. Snapping her fingers, the duster flew to her and, as if she had given it a command, darted off to dust all of Sabre's antiques carefully. Sabre made her way over to the front door and double checked to see that it had locked all the way. It had, of course, but she was always cautious. Finally, Sabre was pleased with how this floor looked and climbed the stairway to the second floor and Michi. Opening the door quietly, she peered in. He was sound asleep in his bed. Good. Tomorrow, she would be sure to bring him out and about with her. Perhaps she could at least bring him to the castle to leave with a wereguard or two... They could keep him company and amused for awhile.

Closing the door, she moved down to the next one and peered in as Norban hadn't closed it. She chuckled at what she saw, but understood it all the same. Gripping the door handle, she pulled it shut partly and finally went to her bedroom. It didn't take her long to strip her clothes from her body, after which she quickly hopped into bed and closed her eyes. Hopefully tomorrow would be somewhat eventful. Perhaps not quite as eventful as today had been, but eventful enough. Tomorrow, she would ask for an audience with Gwenefiere. If the Queen didn't have time to see her tomorrow.... well, she would. Sabre would make sure of that.

OOC: Blah... I just put that together today while I was here at work. Sorry for sorta autoing you, Vic, but the timechange sorta made me have to. LoL. And that was the easiest thing I could figure out how to do. I'm sure you're free to RP the rest of your night the way you want to. lol. And then I'll let your post be the first of the morning, too, because, well.... I'm lazy. LoL I'll try to write up a post for the funny thread tonight, too, but no promises. :P
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.
Kaylee: He looks kinda mean.
Wash: That's sorta what I meant.
Simon: This must be what going mad feels like.

IC: She watched the creature leave, in somewhat of a huff. She didn't really understand it's intentions or motives. SHe did know though, that it may have been under the same impression as her. Seeing the two of them in such a lock, would definately put someone on edge. Mayhap it was even Jealous...either way, something had bothered it. And it was quite a far cry from what she had first seen of the creature. It had been emotionless and blank. Now it seemed angry. Well, then at leaste it was beginning to shape, mayhap reshape into what it should be. She didn't know much on it though, so couldn't exactly make a fair judgement. Her eye's shifted to the Priestess next, taking in her words. She had caught the mix up of Alain's name, grinning, she said nothing.

"I have no intentions of being anywhere else." She said, half to Victoria, half to herself. She was anticipating this with such intensity that she could almost taste the blood already. She watched as the woman stepped away, wodering to herself if the priestess really was only bound by blood to the being. She remembered the events of the day before. Victoria would not deny their relations. But that was their business.

"Mortality is not exaclty favored..." She obliged to Alain's words, her face tilting in his direction. "But it is accepted. As well, it is just as hard for us, as it is for you, to see you not as you once were." A smile flew across her face, as he kissed her cheek. "You'll remember in time, how strong you were." Reaching out, she stroked the scales of Alia's slender back with the tips of her fingers. She looked peaceful, and tired with Baby sleep. Gwen's eyes widened though as Alain said he was in fact considering going to the ritual. She listened to and understood his previous disintrest somewhat. She had a slight Idea what a spilicer was. But only from what he had told her. But either way, she was glad he would attend. It was more than just being there though, that she worried about, she worried about what may happen. Worried about the direction that the whole event could take. It was not a warming thought. She didn't shift though, only smiled to herself, thinking the ritual over. She didn't know what VIctoria had in mind, but she knew it would work. Looking up to him finally she nodded.

"I'm glad you'll be there, It means a lot, but if it's against your better judgement, I wouldn't force you to. What I do worry about though is Alia." Her eyes moved to the small sleeping dragon. Just looking at her, made the queen grin. She was not really fond of children, but younge dragons were a different story all together. "There is a comfortable room she can sleep in for the hour it will take us. It just may be alot for her to handle..." she broke off, not wanting to worry him. Standing from the edge of the fountain, she stretched and yawned, feeling at her hip for the pouch she had put her viles in. It was still there and intact.

"We should head down, Unless you have something you need to do before we start." She said, stepping to face him, peering up at him through thick lashes. She did not want to push him, so she gave him options. Kissing his cheek as well, she turned and headed toward the statue. "This way." She said with a grin.

Leading them to the stairwell, the Priestess had decended minutes before, she willed the door open as that was the only way to open that device. It slid aside easily, the stair well opening below them. Gwenefiere could see fine, but she lit a single torch so Alain would not trip. Down the steps, they swerved down the corridore, passing the Library and several other unnamed doors. Stopping first at one toward the end, she opened the door. It was a small room, with a couple of pieces of furniature in it. It was a sort of waiting room, for when rituals had been done often and people had come to the temple for them in specific. As well, her and Victoria would at times bring books there and relax, to talk about their studies and look things up. It was indeed a comfortable room. It was quite plush and would serve as a good room for Alia to rest in. As well, she would hear no commotion that happened across the hall, due to the thick stone walls. Letting Alain pass through the door, she spoke.

"You can put her to sleep in here, love. It won't be a long time, and she will be safe." Looking back out the door, she eyed the dark slab of ebony wood that spoke silently of the magick that had been used within. The energy of it was almost intoxiicating, but maybe it was the memories as well. Looking once more to Alain, she smiled lovingly, her eyes glittering with the soon to be gone mortality.

"I will be in the room across the hall when you are ready..." She said quietly, and turned, stepping down a littl and across the hall to the doorframe. Lifting her hands, she ran them over the smooth surface of the ebony wood like one would over their lovers body. the sparks of her true identity were felt, still here from ages ago. It was strange how so much time could pass and one's essence could still fill a place. She felt Victoria's as well, mingled with hers as they were blood bound sisters, and best friends. Closing her eyes, she laid her head against the door, trying to bring back all that sat just below the surface and just out of reach. It would come soon, all of it, in one mighty wave of hate, lust and visions. Her hand found the knob shortly and she turned it, opening into the ritual hall...

The room was dark on entrance, but she could see well. For the sake of the others, she lit a few candles with a match, and slung the torch she had from the stairs, into it's holder at the wall. She quickly lit the rest of them and more candles, the room soon bathed in the flickering half-light of flame. A grin remained spread over her lips as she stepped through the room, from the Alter at the northern wall, to the shelves and shelves of items they had acquired for their magickal workings. She stopped at one shelf in particular, lifting a blue crystal sphere from it's stand. The light reflected and refracted on it's surface and within, glittering the color of her eyes. She remembered recieving it. It had been a witch, who respected the two woman. She had made it herself to aid them. She had been a friend of Lillith's and mayhap still owned a shop there in the city. She replaced it and turned to the Alter. A silver chalice sat on it's center, their crest embroidered into the black satin cloth that covered the alter stone beneath it. It was a wide, flat topped formation built out of the wall for that purpose in particular. She lit all of the candles there as well, accept the annointment candles. It was bad luck to burn them before the ritual started. She was suprised for a moment that she had remembered that. It was all so deeply intertwined with her personality, that she would never be able to lose such knowledge, and she scorned herself , as she better get used to it, because there was alot to remember. Taking the viles from her pouch, she set them in the Chalice. She was ready for this. Finally done, she spun and pulled herself up to on the edge of the Alter. The room was open from there to the southern wall though. The floor clean after having drawn so many different charms and symbols on it, which were later washed off. It would have to be done again. Shackles hung from the south wall on thick iron rings. There was no blood though, fresh or rotten, as that was not what they were used for. Only restraint. All Gwen could do was wait now though. So She peered about, waiting for the others to join her. She was excited, almost elated. But a pang of fear was still there, her mortal instincts telling her it was not right. She knew for a moment how if must feel to be the one at the other end of the fangs...

It did not look at her, not until the book was finished. Then it set everything down and turned towards her. It's face emotionless again as it's head tilted off to one side.

"I am sorry, your trick had me convinced as well did his threat." it shifted and slowly stood up, looking around the library for a moment before looking back to Victoria, "If it is alright, I will stay here and read what I can while you perform your...ritual with the other. It will give me some time to learn more, yes?"

It was avoiding the topic, though it did not seem like it was doing so intentionally, without emotion to hint at it's cause. It turned from Victoria and walked over to one of the many bookcases and began to browse for a tomb that was of interest to it.

OOC:Sorry for yet another short one, I just woke up.

Continuing to work, Victoria rather have him aknowledge her first, so she had to busy herself for a moment. Besides, Victoria told Gwen that she needed something from the library anyways. Going to a corner of book shelves, Victora removed a simple designed book. Flipping to the back cover, the pages had been cut out to hold a small box. Leaving the box within the book, Victoria opened the small container. Removing one of six small silk pouches, she closed both the parcel and tome, returning it to its spot.

When the creature spoke again, she turned while placing the small pouch in her bodice.

"His threat was very serious, but a gunshot would not kill me. It would take me only a few minutes to recover actually," However, the creature most likely did not know such information. The creature almost asking for permission to stay in the library during the ritual was a little disheartening.

"You will learn what you read, sure, " Victoria walked to the bookshelf closest to the doorway and pulled out a burgandy, velvet encased book and walked back to the creature, "The ritual I will perform is in this book, but wouldn't you rather see it with your own eyes than just simply read about it? You will feel the energy the book can only describe in minute detail compared to personal observation," Victoria held the book out to the creature, "So will you read of a ritual or witness the ceremony that inspired the writing?" She hoped that her words were enough to convince the creature to join them. He truly would learn much more by being there. Also, should something go horribly wrong his presence would better regain control over the situation, hopefully.

It watched her aproach with the book. The offer of watching this ritual was a good deal more interesting than reading about it. It thought for a moment, looking to the book then back to her. "I will go, personal experience is more valuable than written information." it had already come to this conclusion from their previous talks.

It waited now for her to lead the way, "Gwenefiere made an interesting point. I may not be new...I know we spoke briefly of it but with what is happening to her I believe it more likely than other possibilites as of now. Though I'm not sure how we would find out." That was the dilemma of that possibility, it knew, and was not sure how to work around that.

"I suppose further conversation on the subject should wait till after this ritual?" it was more of a suggestion than a question. It did not wish to delay seeing this ritual take place and it would be easier to talk with her about it without the others here to distract them.

"Against my better judgement would be an inaccurate term. Perhaps against my mortal sensibility?"

He laughed slightly, then followed her, and parted when she left to the actual chamber, leaving him to set Alia down somewhere. He sighed slightly, and lay her gently on the couch there, then sat next to her a moment, looking at the weapon in his hand. It was heavy... Terran pistols tended to be, they were designed to fight an enemy that was faster, stronger, and damned harder to kill than an unarmored human. Even the hypervelocity ammunition in the pistol, which expanded when fired and actually became a deadly sliver of metal surrounded by a cloud of even deadlier ions, couldn't kill a Drone in a single shot, or even several - it often took fifteen or twenty at least out of a fifty round clip of the sliver shaped bullets to kill one, but the weight and the knowledge that even unarmored he COULD kill one had always made him feel a bit better. They were something he understood. Aim for the base of the head, hit the spine, the head was too well armored. Failing that, hit the legs, drop it, then pump as many shots in as you had to. Get to your armor. He knew what to do when one of those nightmarish creatures attacked. He had been in bed once when they hit the base... had fought his way through hallways streaked with blood to get to his suit and take the fight back to the enemy... but however horrific the battles might be, no matter the carnage or the hopeless feeling of seeing one of those barrel down on you as you blazed away at it with the almost insignificant weapon in your hand... he always had his armor to fall back on. Always had the other Marines to catch him if he tripped... to take the enemy down if he ran out of rounds... he knew he wasn't alone. Gwen was there, and Victoria accepted him again... but never before had his weaponry seemed so pointless. If he were to be in true danger in this place...would bullets really be of any use...?

They would have to be. He clicked the safety on the pistol again, and it hummed quietly before going silent, and the soft blue glow from the slits on the sides vanished. He stuck it back into his holster, and snapped the cover over it before he kissed Alia's brow and walked to the door. He'd been through hell on his planet, but it had always been his. The hell was to be endured... to let his people undo their mistakes... to buy them that time. Now he was in a place where his enemy was completely unknown... no one here had ever seen or heard of a Splicer, or of Homo sapiens parabellum... but at least on Terra he understood his enemy. Here... how would a bullet, no matter how advanced, stop an enemy like the one even Gwen seemed to fear...? Telepathy? God he hated that sometimes... Alain walked out of the room and shut the door before he put a hand to his head. Telekinesis.. Telepathy... about the only edge he seemed to have on anyone here... and he didn't even trust it, whether it came from his own head or not. He didn't get it, was the problem. No one could explain why some humans could do it on Terra, certainly not why he of all people was better at it than anyone... or why he had been able to speak with his sister across dimensions... or any of this shit. He swallowed hard, then he wiped his brow and walked towards the room. The doors had shut again, so he put his hands aginst them and puched - nothing. He swore quietly, then stood back, and frowned. Will... he'd done this before. Well, Auroth had. He closed his eyes, and the doors suddenly flew open, much harder than he had meant to - almost slamming against the walls, but he stopped them, and walked inside, letting them close again, blushing crimson.

"Okaaay... willing and telekinesis, not the same thing."

That wasn't like him... he'd come to terms just fine with his TK, it was the mind reading that bugged him... wasn't like him to lose his TK like that... this room just freake dhim out. Like a Hive, almost... the blood, the pulsing energy none of the other marines ever seemed to feel, but that he always had... maybe he really had always been telepathic...

"Gwen? Pick a dark enough room?"

Candles or no, yeesh...

Victoria smiled as soon as he agreed that his being present as the ritual was a better choice. Returning the book to its place and retrieving the goblet as the creature spoke, the his talk with Gwenefiere opend up possibilities she really had not thought about.

"Then perhaps it is a sort of amnesia? It is a matter of remembering then..." Her latter statement more of a vocalized thought. The suggestion to wait until after the ceremony was a must.

"Yes," Victoria nodded in thought of methods for the creature to open his mind to possible memories, "With the queen in her proper form, she too will have the ability to help," Walking to the door, Victoria hesitated before she exited, "No matter how dangerous things may get, please do not get involved unless I ask." Even if the creature did not understand why she would ask this of him, it was important that he held to the request. Ritual often became intense in many ways, but that was all a part of the process. Order from Chaos, it was the way of the universe.

The banging of doors in the hall was startling and Victoria quickly opened the library door, walking partially into the corridor. Catching a glimpse of Alain's figure quickly enveloped into the ritual hall, Victoria smiled. He decided to join them as well. His memory needed a little jumping as well. Upon entering the ritual hall, Victoria saw easily in the room and manuvered around Alain enough to not spill any blood and make her way to the altar. Setting the chalice only a couple feet away from where the queen sat, Victoria took a deep breath in mental preparation.

"Are you prepared for this Gwenefiere?" Victoria looked the woman in the eyes. It would be difficult for the both of them. Extremely energy consuming and stressful on the mind and body. Rearranging a few things on the altar, Victoria counted the retraints on the length of the altar. Hopefully six would be enough.

"Very well, unless asked I will not get involved." it agreed before following her to the chamber. It's eyes constantly moving over the environment to note what the new room looked like.

It had remained quiet during their walk to the ritual hall. Even upon reaching the destination it remained quiet. It also remained furthest away from everything, near the doors. Here it was unlikely to interfere with anything that may possibly happen.

Slowly it's eyes were drawn to Alain, it realised the small dragon was not with them but instead behind them probably in the previous room. If it had not left. Perhaps this was no place for such a small creature to be, which would suggest that this ritual was dangerous or atleast would tell the creature that much.

Yet it had to keep it's word so here it would stand and wait for the ritual to end or to be called upon to give aid if necessary. It wasn't sure which it prefered, to not be needed or to be needed. One may be safer but the other was something that appealed to it, it would reflect on why later when it didn't have to pay attention to what was happening.
