Victoria smirked as she listened to the creature speak. He had no choice but to mature. Existance had that effect. Try as one might, eventually age caught up with you. And the person you were afterwards was never the same as before. As for his hostility, Victoria figured it was an alpha male complex to a degree. How far the creature took that was another story all together. Turning around and leaning against the bookshelf, Victoria crossed her arms and watched the creature write. "It is called an alpha male complex. I know of perhaps one creature in existance that does not fall victim to the instinct," Victoria knew ahead of time that she would probably have to explain that to him as well, "It is more a matter of survival and dominance both as an individual and a species. Espeically when females are involved. Many games and tests that are implimented are non-violent ways of proving who is the top male, because that is what it boils down to. The most dominant male," She looked around the room, trying to remember where the book would be that he asked about. "History...history," Victoria spoke lightly as she looked. Pulling the ladder down to the fourth section, Victoria climbed to the top and removed a thick green tome. The cover was actually bound in sea weed. The one who had wrote the book had come from the island of Beata. Few knew of this island, which kept the merfolk safe. The woman giving this book to Victoria being from the water herself. Victoria had traded her a potion to cure her sick child for the periodical. Making her way back down the ladder, Victoria walked to the table and placed the book before him. "Please, be gentle with this one. It cannot be rewritten, " Victoria trailed her fingers over the cover of it, "There is history here that you will find no where else on Aronia. Some that has never been known to the land," Atleast the pages were waterproof. |

It looked to the book, then to its ink covered fingers, "I will finish the work, wash my hands, and then I will read it if I have the time before we leave." it stated its plan of actions and then continued on its work. History that could be found no where else, that made the book of great value. So it would not risk harming it in any manner, it would read when alone or with Victoria and only when down in this chamber. "Alpha male, empowering sound to it." it stated as its thoughts traced back over what she had said before presenting the book to it. Though it was not sure if such applied to it, that would mean a need to procreate, then again it wasn't as if it had tried to avoid the incident. Its brow furrowed as it thought and worked |

The sun peeped in through the curtians that had been drawn about the bed, caressing her pale face with it's golden tendrils. Wihout opening her eyes, she reached over to the other side of the bed, feeling nothing but blankets and the other pillow. He had gotten up, which was probably good, seeing as he would surely need time to think everything through. In the course of an evening he had learned a great deal and felt a great deal. Now, she was unsure what to do with the knowledge of who he was, or had been. It was almost scary looking at it now. All remnants of her thirst had been sedated from her sleep, making her rethink her situation. It did not change how she felt about him though. She rose after a while from the warm confines of the down blankets and headed puffy eyed to her bathroom, and wiped her face with cool water. That woke her up quite well. Even better than a shot of brandy in your coffee. She finished her water ritual and moved back to the other portion of her quaters to her wardrobe, pulling it open. She chose something comfortable for the day, as there was alot to be done. Pulling the thin cotten dress over her head, she pulled it down to her waist and let it fall the rest of the way to her feet. It was colored a deep purple and embroidered around her shoulders with silver. She decided she would first locate Alain. She knew he was fine, but there was a couple of things that she had to discuss with him, next Victoria. She could not wait any longer in this form. Humanity was too frail for her, too taxing to her energy. Plus she wanted to tell Victoria that it would be good for them to get out a little. As well, Gwenefere had never even seen the place. Last she had been alive, Marsopt was a small town of humans. Taking up a tub of Shea Butter, she rubbed some of the soft lotion over the skin of her bare arms and shoulders, it's texture silky and almost shining. It was more to help with the sun burn she had aquired out on the beach where she had been...'reborn'. The thought made her swollow hard, remembering the unsurity she had woken with. Her return to the city unknowingly and the rest. A knock came suddenly, breaking her thoughts. Setting aside the lotion, she moved to the door, her bare feet soundless on the carpet and stone that composed the floor. Pulling it open, she looked up into the face of a weregaurd. "Mi'Lady...Someone has found a man named Xaomen at the gate. I was told that he specificaly wanted to speak with you. He is in the hospital. We tried to find you last night...but it is rumored that you were in the gardens...moonlighting." She blushed a little, a pang of shame soaring throguh her, but she did not notice it after the name sunk in. "Are you sure it is Xaomen?" She said, her eyes widening and her heart beat quickening. Another? All in the premise of a day?! Something was definately happening. But in the hospital...that added another necessary to her list. She nodded to the gaurd, looking away in thought. "I will be there in due time. I have a couple of errands to run, but I will be there in the matter of an hour. In fact tell him that I will be there, that I said so." She smiled and closed the door. Rushing back across the room. She grabbed a finely crafted willow stick, and spun her hair up with it, poking it through her hair and setting the messy wad in place. Grabbing a small vile from her desk as well, she put that into a small bag along with another vile which held her blood, and even another vile, which held some odd brackish looking mixture. Tying the pouch at her waist, she headed from the room as well. The hallways drew past her in a stream she did not pay attention to. She could not believe the man was here once again, in Ombra Di Notta. It had been ever so long. Excitement send waves of adrenalin through her, making her heart race as fast as her feet. But first she planned on finding Alain. Reaching out with her mind, she searched. He was there, not awfuly far, but it wasn't like she could pin-point his exact location. From the castle, she headed throught the temple. Everything was silent but...Stopping midstride, she peered about, the pouch bouncing back to clatter into her hip at the hasty stop. She heard a voice, but not talking... Heading in the direction from which it came, she saw one of the doors at the side of the temple open. It ws a door used to get to and from the castle, but it led outside. It was in fact left open a great deal. Moving to it's archway, she peered down the steps to see exactly who she was looking for. Alia sat in his lap happily. Smiling herself, she moved down the steps, plopping at his side. Reaching over, she patted the small dragon affectionatly on the head, then looked to Alain. She saw the look in his eyes that one would have when there is a pain racking the back of their skull. She knew it was alot for him. It was alot for her as well, but he was in the process of putting two minds together. That definately took some mental energy. It wouldn't have suprised her if her was irritable, but she would be alright with it. It wasn't his fault. "Did you sleep well?" She asked after a moment of studing his expressions. "I know it's alot all at once, but it will pass." She smiled a little and leaned her head against her shoulder, watching the little dragon for a moment. They exchanged 'Good Mornings' and she returned her attention to Alain. "I'm going to have Victoria preform the ritual today..." She stated after a moment, lifting her face to peer out into the gardens. They were still glittering with the moisture of the rain from the night before. It looked like millions of diamons sparkling in a sea of green. "I didn't know if you wanted to be there, but if it is something you would like to do, I don't mind. And I doubt Victoria would mind either once she sees you." She knew Victoria would be able to tell. Just by the change in his energy. It was not a drastic change, but enough for the energy sensitive priestess to tell. "Plus If we are going to go to Marsopt..." She looked over to him as she said it. "I want to be my true self. It would be bad for my people to know that their queen and goddess is not even a vampire..." Her voice quieted at the end of the sentence, but she wasn't overly upset. It was more annoying than anything. Grinning after a moment, she shook her head a little. "Well, some may find that rather comforting." A sigh escaped her lips, and she gathered her skirts in her hands. "I have to go and see to an old friend that has made face once more here in the city. So many of us are returning..." She said, standing, her voice trailing off. "It makes me wonder what is happening. What is going to happen. It perplexes me." Her mind trailied off to all that had happened once more picking up on details that she hadn't thought much of before. Instinctively, she touched her palm to his head, hoping to sooth at leaste some of the pain that she had created. As, if it were not for her, he would not be afflicted by it. "If you would like to go with me, you may." She in fact hoped he would, but would understand as well if he would rather relish his 'his-time'. There was a great many things she had to do before the day was out, but that didn't mean he would be forced to deal with the running crazily about looking or awnsers here and there. She was already beginning to feel overwhelmed with it all. Lifting her spare hand, she ran a hand through her ebony hair, closing her eyes for a moment and enjoying the heat of the sun. She was not extremely sensitive to it in her true form, but in her human form she could understand why some would be known as 'sun-worshipers'. It was truely a wonderful thing, now that she had had the time to appreciate it. Looking down to Alain once more she smiled. She was glad to have him back, be it in a different body with another recollection of a life. He was still the person she remembered him to be...just smarter and less primitive. The thought made her grin inwardly, though her lips did turn up humorously at the corners. What a new world she had woken up to, a new world that they would have to relearn. Both in different ways, but relearning for both of them, it meant. |

Victoria's gaze was still upon the book, memories of its contents calling her to read it again. "However it suits you," She didn't purposely try to offend the creature, if he found her rude. Victoria was just off in her thoughts again. "Being the alpha male is empowering. The one who can take claim to the title has proven their strength and dominance over every other male. Sometimes it is just an alpha male of a tribe, an alpha male of a speices or it can be an alpha male over all speiceis." Sighing, Victoria felt the weight of being overtired. A delicious, chilled glass from the fountain was exactly what she needed, again. The past day and a half was taking its toll. Deep within, Victoria could feel that an actual kill would satisfy her thirst. Such a desire had never been present in all of her years changed. Still, the blood from the fountain was going to have to do, for now. Looking to the doorway, she began to take leave, pausing to turn and speak to the creature. "I will return in a moment, I am quite parched. Please do not leave this room until I return," Victoria knew he wouldn't be able to cause any real harm should he leave. Sure a few things could be broken, but all were replaceable in time. She shut the door behind her but left it unlocked and ascended the stair again. The sealed door opened with her touch again. Feeling no need to have it close behind her, it did not. Walking to the fountain, a soft sound grazed her ears. Stopping completely, she listened closely. The sound was nothing more than a murmur of noise. Walking towards the point of origin for the sound, a door was open and the brightness of the morning light unexpectedly blinded her for a moment. As her vision cleared and her eyes adjusted, Victoria recognized the two figures. Narrowing her eyes in confusion, her gaze dropped to the baby dragon in his lap. Rage immediately overtook Victoria and she almost physically saw red. Clenching her teeth and fists, she strode over to the two. "What the hell is going on?" Victoria's voice echoed through the temple, "His first day here and he's already delving into the very core of our kindom!" Coming closer to Alain, something was odd about him, his energy. There was familiarity in both his aura and eyes. Those that were so very empty appeared thicker, wiser. Still, she was quite pissed off. This time, she spoke directly to Alain. "What a wonderful prize you think you have won. Do you really believe it's yours?" Giving a look of disgust, upperlip curling a bit and her fangs slightly exposed. "You are just another conquest. There were hundreds before you and will be hundreds after. Understand that the closer you are, the more likely you will not live to tell our secrets," Victoria looked at the queen, she was not angry with the queen over her intrest in the man. Had Victoria been the one to be in the temple when he arrived, the one to help him make sense of things, perhaps she too would be so easily guiled. "Why would you give him a dragon of all things? And what about the messenger? Was he that unsatisfying?" |

"Oh, I slept well enough... Did you, love...?" He looked up at Gwen and smiled slightly, then he looked back down, furrowing his brow slightly at the prospect of this ceremony... "If its alright I should probably pass on that... some things I have to come to terms with about the whole deal, still... please don't feel offended by it, my Gwen... I just need to sort out what information I have now before I add anything more. Still coalating data, as it were..." He smiled a little bit, then he stood, Alia clinging lightly to his chest as he did, then snuggling contentedly into his arms, where she lay her head across his hand and closed her eyes. Alain laughed softly. "She's still sleepy... expect she will be for a while, funny to think shes only newborn... I wonder if its the same here but on Terra no species takes so long as humans to mature to adulthood. Indeed no species even takes half as long... and yet I feel that even were circumstances different, this dragon would be so aware..." Alia nipped lightly at his thumb, and he laughed. "I'm glad it's yoiu though, I am... as for Marsopt... well I'll go if you wish me to. I heard something about it, a casino? Used to have lots of those on Terra... something the humans brought here?" He was going to ask something else about it when Victoria strode up, all fire and brimstone at him yet again, but where Alain wanted to fire one off back at her, with Auroth in there... he just laughed. "Already? I beleive it's taken me millenia to get back here, thank you very much. And frankly youve treated me very badly the whole time." Alain felt almost dizzy, the memory had taken control... a part of him only now awakened. It was good though, this Alain, or this melding of himself and his past self, Auroth... he knew Victoria. He knew them both, had for a long time. It was odd speaking it out loud like that, but... it was truth, was it not? Alia climbed up to perch on his shoulder as he frowned. "And secondly, don't speak of my little sister here as if she is a prize to be one, little Victoria! Should know better, of all people..." He reached up gently and Alia nuzzled his hand gently before turning her turquoise gaze to the Priestess for a moment, glittering eyes curious. Alain spoke again. "Was rather hoping you'd recognise me now... though it took me long enough on my own... of course I've only a base understanding of these matters, apparently the past twenty-five years are only one in a string, though yours and mine have crossed before... same with Gwen..." He looked over to the queen and smiled softly for a moment. Why don't I think she'll buy it...? Auroth seems to remember her being rather stubborn at times... |

It had turned back to its work. The task going slower as it thought about the book Victoria had offered it. Stealing glances at the book every few moments. It wasn't until it heard Victoria that it realised that it had been distracted. It slowly stood as it heard the agitation in Victoria's voice though it was faint. It took its time, walking from the secret room as if it was no secret at all. It paused and looked around, feeling for Victoria's presence rather than looking. Finding her it headed off to the door way she had walked to and stopped, it's eyes adjusting to the light. Victoria had just asked the Queen something and the man had begun to spoke. It's eyes narrowed on the man, something familiar about him though it had never seen him before. It's eyes caught the small thing n the man's shoulder which caused it to blink. The small scaled thing had peeked it's interest. It opened it's mouth to question about the creature but clamped its mouth shut as it realised that it was no time for curiosity. Instead it stood there, unsure of what to do. Perhaps it should have stayed below and kept writing. |

OOC: Here's a shorty for ya Before she could awnser Alain, the angered voice of her priestess thrummed through her ears, startling her to where she almost stepped backwards off the steps. She caught herself on the edge of the door frame though and looked wide-eyed to the woman. Her words touched deeper and deeper as she went. It was so unusual to see her with such hate! It hurt her hurt her in a way that was so intense that her eyes immediately whelled with tears. Such human traits scared her. It was something she really didn't understand. And the Messenger! The last bit caught her way off gaurd. "Unsatis..." She began, her brow pulling up in a bunch. The womans assumption scared her even more than the way she said it. It infuriated her really, but she was at a loss for words. At that moment, she was pulled from the brewing pool of her anger by Alain's words. Her face shifted from one extreme to another. From anxiety to happiness and back again. She hadn't expected him to just...come out like that, but she knew it was for the better, knew now that that really was the only way. And in the very end, she didn't know what to say or do, but stood wide-eyed, her mouth slightly agape in the doorway, through which a wind had begun to gust, their clothes meshing against their skin. Reaching out for him, she found his arm, and held onto it, trying to find what to say. "It's true..." she said in a low voice, looking up to Victoria with bewildered eyes. Her emotions were playing with her mental ability to handle such situations. She didn't know whether to run away or yell back. "He knows...well must remember most of our secrets anyways. They are in there somewhere." She looked to him as well, not knowing really what to think. Her words seemed forced, and unable to convey the reality of what Alain said. WHat could she do though? Her trained eyes caught a glimpse of motion within the temple, and she tried hard to peer pas the priestess to see what lay beyond, but there was a combination of things that held her from the minute goal. The creature from before suddenly appeared, and she gave it a slight half-smile. It's eyes had a bit more understanding to it. It no longer looked like a child that couldn't find it's favorite toy. Returning her attention to Victoria, her grip tightened just slightly on Alain's arm. |

Victoria silently snarled as Alain spoke to her so personally. The nerve of the man. She didn't care what he thought he remembered, the magics of Aronia had enchanted stronger men. Whatever his crazy talk of getting back here, Victoria had not the time for such tall tales. Even the queen's verification of his words could not convince her. "Little? I've got ten thousand years on you, so be thankful I have been so cordial," Victoria refrained mentioning her condition as opposed to his mortal condition. She spoke as he paused to fondle the dragon, "I wasn't speaking of the dragon," She held back on insulting his intelligence for a moment, "I was speaking of the queen, our secrets, the kingdom," She took a step closer, sensing his energy and trying to pin point the reason and what had changed. Claiming the dragon to be his sister only solidified her theory of him being insane or a manipulator, either just as plausable. Watching the queen and Alain interact only fuled her fire. How she wanted to tear his bowels through his throat. The only thing that stood in her way was the queen. Even the queen's intrest behind her did not rouse curiosity, Victoria's gaze locked onto Alain again. "You smug bastard," Had her words been physical, they would have been sheer venom. Pointing at the man, his self without the armor made him look more mortal than ever, Victoria gave him a vow she would hold for the rest of her immortal life, "With my last breath, I will see to it that you never have power here," Perhaps it was a draft, or perhaps it was simply Victoria's temple, either way a strong current of wind began to flow through the room, entering through the open door and moving through the temple hall, into the open stair well. The noise created from the breeze almost sounded like a low howl of an unknown animal. Looking to the queen once more, her eyes dropping to their intertwined limbs, Victoria noticeably averted her eyes signaling her disgust. Turning around on her heels, Victoria took a few steps before she noticed the creature. His sudden and silent appearance startled Victoria and she flinched a bit, taking a small step back. After the initial shock, it had actually been comforting in a way that he was there. However, still a bit embarassing. She felt oddly exposed. It was a side of her that was not flattering. But as to why she would want to appear to the creature in any way caught her attention. Keeping herself moving forward, Victoria held back the tears that so forcefully pushed towards escape. She would atleast get the drink she had come for. Walking past the creature, Victoria turned her head slightly to look at him, hopefully reading any expression that he could possibly have. That way Victoria would know why he had appeared at all. She was not about to show weakness of any kind, especially not with that mortal in view. The truth was, Victoria trusted the messanger more than she trusted Alain. Atleast the messanger was obvious about his intentions, as low as they may be. You knew where you stood with that one. Alain on the other hand, she had dealt with his kind before. The ones who appear innocent usually are extremely the opposite. Making her way back to the fountain quite quickly, Victoria violently grabbed a chalice and scooped up a full glass of the thick liquid. Rotating the glass in her hand for a moment and looking at its contents, she took a large swallow. Pacing back and forth, Victoria tapped her finger on the chalice to help calm her. The blood taking the edge off of her rage, but not quite quenching her. That was when it came. The answer that she would keep deep within her mind. With the queen now mortal, the blood in Victoria's veins was all her own again. Gwenefiere would never know what was in Victoria's thoughts again. The creature on the other hand, he had a chance that would come with time. OOC: blame it on her hormones kenny...LOL |

"Cordial? Hah! This must be some strange definition of the word "cordial" that I was not previously aware of." Alain lashed right back at her, only laughing slightly at the smug bastard part. When she vowed that about the power, though, he recoiled as if slapped. Power? She thought he wanted power? Alain stood, putting a hand to his head, then he looked at Gwen, telling her wordlessly not to follow as he walked after Victoria. He stopped by the other man there. "I know you're probably planning on following her, but don't. I need a word in private. I shouldnt put it that way... follow if you have to but I'd rather you didn't." He sort of assumed the man would, he had been following her like a confused child to the best of Alain's knowledge all day and night, ever since waking. He still felt ill at ease about having something that had coldly tried to kill Victoria the day before now being her principle compainion, but that was her choice. She was a big girl now... not like what he remembered. Gods damn it that was confusing... he was still him, before had been an act - and a failed one - but still... he had trouble at the moment sorting which memories were his and which were Auroth's... Carefully he picked Alia off his shoulders, and she made a small sound, upset. He placed her in Gwenefiere's arms, and smiled a little. "Look after her please..." After that, Alain walked into the Temple, and shut the door behind him. Once he was inside, he took a breath, then he strode over to the fountain, standing a few yards away from the Priestess, but he stood tall and locked his eyes on hers. Not angrily, not demanding - they weren't even calculating, so much as they were hurt. "Power. You think I'm after power? Is that why you've treated me like filth from the start? Or is that I'm human? Or male? I don't give a damn about power, what would a guy like me even do with it? I'm not even in the right dimension and I'm starting to think I'm in the wrong lifetime, not to mention my sister is a dragon believe me I have bigger issues than scheming for a throne I don't even want." He shook his head slightly, though. "Still I'd be lying if I said I didn't love gwenefiere. But there's a reason for that beyond the reasons of lust that you have undoubtedly linked me with, before you say that." Right. As if she was going to buy that. "Does the name Auroth mean anything to you?" |

It looked to Victoria, a twinge of questioning hinted on its features but other than that it was as blank as before. It would not insight hostile actions unless told. Though from what was transpiring Victoria could more than likely handle any situation to arise from this. Then the man walked up to it and suggested it not to follow. It wasn't worried, it would know if any harm came to Victoria or even if she was threatened. At that point it would take little more than the time it takes for a quick breathe for it to be in the temple at her side. So it stayed, the door shutting behind it as the man walked in. It's eyes moved to Gwenefiere and stared at her for a long hard moment, "You broke me." it stated out of the blue. It's head slowly tilted to one side as it studied her, eyed her, sized her up, "You cannot be very old...so then you were born with great power." Its head slowly tilted to other way, "Or we should think, reborn from how she talks. You are no longer a vampire...you are human." It was now processing it's thoughts outloud and it closed its eyes for a few seconds as it thought, opening them to look at her, "Then it is possible......" its eyes dropped to the thing in her arms, "What is that?" |
