OOC: I'm going to post a small tidbit as General Shale just as Alain asked me to.
IC: Sabre sent the General a small smirk and nodded her head lightly in the direction of the castle. General Shale returned the nod and, bowing his head politely to the two women, turned tail and began making his way back to the castle. "Better?" Sabre chimed up, her voice filled with quiet laughter. "So, shall we? Norban, be a dear and get the door for us, would you?" The large werewolf growled his acknowledgement and dashed ahead a few yards. "We're just about there now. See it?" Making her way in the direction of her shop/house, Sabre smiled thankfully to Norban as he held the door open for her. Kael, knowing better than to walk into her fragile shop with his bulky, armored self, kept walking forward, disappearing from sight before everyone's eyes. Inside, Sabre readied the teacups and the pot of water while she waited for Nicholette to decide whether or not to join her. She had a feeling the woman's curiosity would get the better of her and she'd come to Sabre. Setting a fifth of whiskey next to the tea pot and cups, Sabre thought to herself, 'At least, her curiosity had better get the better of her... for her sake...' |

Wash: I think they really captured his essence. Kaylee: He looks kinda mean. Wash: That's sorta what I meant. Simon: This must be what going mad feels like. Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me... | |

Nicholette grinned as the General left without contest. He was just as much a dog as the wolven creature that followed Sabre. The dragon was the bitch in this situation however. "Much," Nicholette replied to the woman. She walked along side the woman, looking the direction which she had pointed. It was a store front and Nicholette began to wonder what kind of wares she sold. Hopefully it had nothing to do with wolves. She had seen enough of those creatures to last her atleast a year. The wolven creature, Norban, obeyed like a good dog. Nicholette glanced from the corner of her eyes at the beast as she entered, the disappearing horse raising her brows and lauging a little. How in the hell? Nicholette had seen many strange things in her life, but that just was hilarious. Especially with the last image being a trotting horse butt. The interior of the shop was not what Nicholette expected. There was almost an air of age. Her eyes wandered until her gaze finally landed on the tea pots and whiskey. Walking towards the woman and teapot, Nicholette wanted to know the meaning of their meeting. "So, why do you want to talk to me? What did I do?" |

"Oh come now... Please sit down and make yourself comfortable before we start talking," Sabre chuckled, taking a seat herself in one of the plush chairs in a small area of the store dedicated to books. Putting some tea leaves into one of the cups, she crushed them, watching Nicholette so she knew when to stop. As soon as she was bade to stop, she put some in her own cup and then poured the water in. As it fell from the spout, the water seemed to start steaming lightly as if it were being warmed at that very moment. With her free hand, Sabre poured a small bit of whiskey into the woman's tea cup before filling it with hot water. "Now that that's done.... Norban, go check and make sure Kael is unsaddled and freshened up. We had quite a trek through your cave," she told the werewolf with a mischievious glint in her eyes. Norban nodded, closing the door behind him before darting down the stairs at the back of the room. Returning her smiling face to the woman, she took her tea cup in her hands and leaned back in her chair, crossing one leg over the other. "So, now... In response to your question. I sent Norban to find you and bring you to me because I was curious as to what you were doing in that alley near the guard barracks. You seemed in an awful hurry to get out of there when we were readying to leave. So, it was my duty to track you down and make sure you're not a spy. I don't know if you've heard, but the kingdom has been going through some rough times. Many of our troubles have only just shown up today in the guise of sorcerers, spies, an ambush attack plans..." Sabre let all this sink in to the woman's skull. She would most likely be able to tell whether or not the woman was a spy or not from her facial expressions in reaction to what all sabre had just told her. |

Nicholette smiled and sat in the identical seat across from the woman. Waiting untl the leaves just barely covered the bottom of the cup, Nicholette gave her a tumbs up and said, "That's good," as politely as she knew how. Watching the water warm itself, Nicholette thought to herself, nice touch. However, the whiskey brought a full smile to her face. Drinking a bit of the tea while Sabre gave instructions to the wolf, the liquor tasted divine with just a touch of tea. The womans answer was extensive. Nicholette just shrugged her shoulders and set her tea down. "This is my first time visiting this city, I had no idea," It was the truth. Nicholette had never crossed the ocean for a bounty. She usually kept to Luestrife. There was plenty of crime and rewards there. Humans didn't pay quite as well as elves though. And Vorhen even raised the reward! She was almost rolling in the cash. "I saw everyone going into the building, so I figured that's where the party was at so to speak. Then I heard a hell of a ruckus so I high tailed it out of there. You tell me what you'd do in a strange town, at night, and then there was a huge brawl." |

Sabre sipped her tea and nodded as she listened to the woman speak. An innocent bystander, she was. Good. But there was something slightly curious about what she said that piqued Sabre's interest. "Everyone? You seem to be implying that myself, Norban and Alain are everyone... perhaps everyone you were watching?" With a perked brow, Sabre sipped at her non-alcoholic tea and grinnled over at the woman knowingly. "I didn't catch your name out there, by the way. I believe the General attracted your attention as I asked." OOC: WoW... Sorry this is so short. I can't really think of anything else to post. I'm rather worn out. Just got done sparring with Paul for about an hour. He's teaching me how to use a polearm... My fingers are sore as hell, so typing is no fun. LoL. Gotta love having PVC crush your fingers every few minutes.... not! Haha. |

Finally it paused writing. Its eyes narrowing for a second before it began again, now its writing style a mixture of what he found in the book and of Victoria's own handwriting. "So to say you had to protect here and now that you no longer do you still feel obligated to?" it asked, though not understanding completely what an obligation was. "You would not be traveling alone though, I would be going with you. As you feel you must protect the city, I have to stay with you." it stated matter of factly then paused its writing once again to think, "That is not an obligation is it? A need is never an obligation, an obligation is a want isnt it?" It asked before continuing to write again. |

Victoria was silent for a long moment, in thought. She waited until she finished the page to speak again. "I suppose you are right," She set the pen down again, "It would be more of a want than need to stay here." Victoria closed her eyes and rubbed the bridge of her nose. "But if it is as you have put it, then for you to stay with me is a want as well," Victoria had been under the assupmtion that he had no choice in the matter, or so he thought. It was not necessary for him to stay, but she had thought that the creature saw it the other way around. Looking to the creature, Victoria was eager to hear his reply. Why she was so interested was lost to her, but so were many things. Feeling the fast approaching day, Victoria began to grow a bit weary. Within a few hours it would be light and her natural cycle to sleep. Still, work on the book had to be done and she intended to do as much as she could in the time left. |

Nicholette furrowed her brows in confusion when the woman accused her of watching people. She wasn't watching people, just one person. "You gotta admit the lot of you stick out like a sore thumb. Atleast to me, I am from Luestrife, Marsotp is my playground. Which means mostly humans," Nicholette took another sip of the whiskey and tea, "If I was staring, it was because I'm not used to the diversity." Everything she stated was the truth, she just omitted the fact of why she was watching one particular golem. When asked again for her name, she smiled. "Nicholette LeVea, everyone calls me Nicholette," She refrained from explaining why she had no nick name, considering a vast majority of beings did, especially humans. Besides, if she did, it might raise a bit hostility. Slicing the throats of those who did not respect your wishes for that wasn't something people liked to know. Nicholette had her 'things' just like everyone else. Some don't like being cheated, she didn't like disrespect. OOC: its ok, mine is a shorty too....lol |

"I suppose we might, but you're right - this city is quite diverse in its inhabitants. The city guards are all werewolves, and so Norban probably fits in the best out of our little trio you saw. Although I'd like to think I'm fairly 'norm-looking'... My skin is a little darker than most, but I'm at least average size and humanoid," Sabre chuckles, taking another sip of her tea. Generally, she didn't drink it, except in the mornings and right before bed, but today seemed a bit off-kelter. This was her third cup already and it wasn't bedtime quite yet. "Nicholette... That's a very pretty name. Victorious..." Sabre smiled as she looked the woman before her up and down. "Yes, I think it suits you. You're not the type to back down, are you? No, I don't think you are, based on what I've seen thus far. I think we could be friends... either that or stubborn enemies," she laughed. "So, what brings you here to the City of Night?" |

It paused for a moment as it thought on what she had said. After a few seconds it went back to work, "I suppose you are right. I believed it was a need but I was fine without a cause so I must be wrong, it must be a want because I believe I need it not because I really do need it." it stated, pausing a moment again as it thought over its reply. It finished the page and stopped to let the ink dry once more, it showed no signs of becoming tired. Though likely it didn't need sleep. It slowly turned towards her, "So I want to be with you then, I think." it stated in agreement with her earlier statement. Then it went back to work as the page had dried. |
