Help with ideas....

Posts: 18 Group: Members Member #25 Joined: July 9, 2006	Hi all! I've been reading through all of the posts, and I'm sooo excited to be in this group! The only problem is that my brain is very dead, and so I'm having trouble coming up with a character (or characters). I actually have ideas for two characters, but they're very flimsy ideas; nothing concrete yet. One is a desert- or plains-dweller; a hunter. The other (as silly as this sounds) was in my dream last night. I'm not so sure whether she'll work or not, but she's an interesting idea. I don't remember much about her, but I remember that she's very old. However... let's see if I can remember this... sometime in her life cycle, she's put to sleep by her guardians for about 100 years or so, though I have no idea why. This has happened quite a few times, because she's never "awake" for more than fifty years at a time. She never remembers her past lives, either, and she's always in a different place when she wakes up. In the dream, it seemed that she had some purpose, that there was something she had to do, and that's why she kept being "resurrected" as it were. It's something between sleeping and being ressurrected. Maybe she even had a quest of some sort. There was also some sort of tragic element to the story, though I never learned what it was. It might be fun to work on her, come up with a story and background as I play her (which is usually how I do it anyway). Anyway, those are the two ideas I have at the moment. If anyone has any ideas or comments, that would be great. Also, if anyone would like for one of these characters to join their thread or they would like to start one with them, just let me know. And really, I don't think anyone will mind you joining their thread, so if you want one of your characters to join a specific thread, feel free to post an OOC comment there and ask. If you can't imagine any of your characters joining in with one of the threads already set in motion, let me know and I'll pull another character out of my ass (that's one of my better RPing abilities, is that of character creation... now if only I could write anything good... scowls lol). The respective proprietors can doctor their insurance claims! Heh! But anyhoo...Yeah, your characters sound pretty interesting, especially the old chick with the 100 year narcolepsy problem. (How much Nyquil do you have to chug for THAT?!) I'd just like to say that either one would be more than welcome to join the Crimson Ghost thread with Davyn, Morag, Rose, and Leaf. That's a pretty misfit group as it is. Could actually use another guy there, but I suppose Davyn doesn't mind being with four girls. lolz. OH YES!!! And then there are the pirates. Once Davyn and Co. reach Endymion, they'll probably be around Ombra Di Notta for a while, but then it's back to the high seas for them. I tried recruiting new members of the crew, but mostly they're NPCed by yours truly. SO! Recruitment is still open if you'd like to make a pirate character. Doesn't take a genius to figure it out, though. lol! But hey! I had a brainstorm today at work! And now...dangit. A brain fart. Oh! I remember! With all of this talk lately about playing characters that are native Aronians and all this jazz, I've been trying to think of someone---ANYone---I would be interested in playing that would not seem too much like any of my already existing characters. I've been reading these books lately called the "Myth" series by Robert Asprin. He wrote them back in the mid to late eighties and I gotta say...the guy can paint characters very well. It's a fantasy series, but it doesn't take things too seriously like SOOOO many other authors whose books I've read. Some of the ways he words things makes me grin. Anyway...though this is no GREAT comparison, he's to fantasy what Douglas Adams is to sci-fi. (Doug Adams wrote the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy series!) It's funny crap. Now, looking at my existing characters, most of them have their own senses of humor, but their storylines and situations are pretty serious. I wanna make a character who gets into all sorts of weird situations while still having a central story to go by. Humorous fantasy roleplaying, if you will. I plan on making a con-man of sorts. The type that convinces entire villages to buy "dehydrated water". Now he may or may not have accomplices in this venture, and I already have some ideas on what sorts of hillarious adventures he could get into... SO! Bottom line is...if anyone is making new characters (or has some old ones lying around or whatever) and would like to join me in this venture, please let me know soon before I run off to make this guy! Cuz honestly, the situations I have in mind are quite amusing, but they'd be even more fun with someone else along for the ride. RSVP ASAP! Thanx! --Davyn

I only have a very loose plot for this character right now and it's a pretty humorous one at that. So yeah, another smart-alek would be fun to have along for the ride and I'm sure even the strong silent type would be appreciated. Something to keep the balance, I guess. Yes, yes! Anyone's welcome, sure thing. May eventually need some antagonists, but I suppose those could be NPC'ed. Right now I just need to know several things and both probably need admin input: 1) What's the best continent full of humans living in rural communities? 2) What are some names of these smaller towns? But yeah, that's about it, I guess. My character's name will be Flynn Weatherby. (Tried to make it halfway between cool-sounding and silly-sounding. lol) I'll put up a profile sometime soon when I'm not so sleepy. I'm really excited about this character if he works the way I see it in my head. So stoked, that while I was sitting through church today, I actually drew a rough draft of what he'd look like on the program. I had him with a gullible farmer, both of them wearing umbrella hats and dancing around. o_O;; Yes. It's THAT silly. There's a reason for the hats, though, which will be explained in this chara's first post when I get around to it. Hopefully tomorrow! Let the absurdity begin!

Unregistered	Because I just lost what I wrote before this...I am super angry right now so if I'm really mean...I'm sorry...O.O Davyn, I just got back and I read the crimson Ghost thread and I find that you overrode what I hade typed. I put a lot of fuckin work into that...and I don't appreciate being overridden. We haven't done that to you. As well, what was written could have had a special value to it that you paid to attention to. You did it to Sabre as well in Kelpi. NOt trying to be an asshole, but please be a little more curteous to what others write. Overriding is the same as autoing. When you write all the plot, it may as well be all your own story, without the rest of us and that isn't the point of roleplaying. It must seem like there is bitching coming from all sides, and I guess there kinda is, but we are trying to help you. I hope you take this as constructive criticism. I had plans of my own with the Crimson thread, but don't bother changeing it, I'm just gonna kill Rose off.
