Forgotten: No one can escape. A great flash emerged above all of Aronia leaving each with short term memory loss. Years lost to the fog of amnesia. Can no one recall? That appears to be the case. Whom or what is responsible? Panic has stricken the globe. Will civilization collapse? What will emerge from the reset? Only time will tell. To each citizen of Aronia from the Global Gazette, we wish all luck.
Welcome to Aronia. We hope you enjoy your visit.

GWenefiere approved of what he said, following along behind him. His gait was not overly akward. It was obvious that he had spent some time in the suit. The feeling came as it did to him. It was a drawing feeling, mixed with loathing and hysteria. It made her feel nervous, but excited, and bubbly. It was like a drug, like the roses. She knew most of the hallways, but as they moved along, the feeling seemed to lessen, instead of heightened. She felt that it was up still, but she was not sure how far. Stepping up to him, she wrapped her hand in his and looked sideways at him.

"Come with me..." images were floating in the periphriel edges of her mind, shooting out like synapses, aross the surface of her brain. (I think that terminology is right...correct me if i'm wrong) She tugged tim down to the end of the hall, around it's corner and to a wide set of red cherry double doors. They stood a goof ten to twelve feet high, set into the rock wall, majesticaly. SHe let go of him and moved forward to one of the doors. Grasping its handle, she puhed on it, the wood creaking inward on old rusty hinges. How long had it been since the Ballroom had been used? It seemed to be ages. They Light censor kicked on the Chandeliere as she moved through the doorway and into the magnificent room. She closed her yees and felt out the energy. It was stong here, making her shiver. Slowly the sound of a crowd crept up on her, music enchanting the background. Opening her eyes, she looked toward Alain. He was so out of place in the Crowded ball. They were out of place, because there was no ball going on.

"No!!" She crunched her eyes shut and slammed her head with her fists. The noise faded, and she soon opened them once more, panic clouding her face. "Did you see any of that?" She was becoming hysterical. What was going on?

He smiled a little bit as they walked, odd feelings drifting across his mind, but he was shutting them out as best he could with his own power, using it to make a sort of barrier into his mind, somehow keeping whatever it was at bay. Still... every now and then he felt an emotion, heard something, saw something, hings he knew werent from him, weren't his at all... and it was worrying him.

As she led him, he smiled a little, though he didn't quite know why, and walked past the massive doors, looking around in awe at the ballroom. It was a magnificent place, to be sure... suddenly, whatever it was shattered his defenses, and the world around him dissolved. he was wearing his uniform, and all around him were people... they were dancing. Why were they dancing..? Oh, of course, it was the charity function.... his rifle clattered to the ground, and he started to bow to Gwen.

"Lady, may... may... Oh, SHIT!"

His eyes flared for a second in anger, and he fell back slightly, panting, and just managed to catch himself. Carefully he reached out and put an arm around her, holding her close to him, shutting his eyes and doing his best to keep out watever it was.

"Okay, something is messing with me, and I do not like it, I don't like it at ALL... Gwen are you alright?"

he looked down at her, worried, being very close that he didnt hurt her with the suit's massive strength. He didn't feel safe in it anymore, somehow... whatever it was was getting by him, his shields, and his last defense - his own mind. Whatever it was, was kicking his ass...

"I sure as hell saw something, but... it wasn't... gods I don't even know... what avout you?"

SHe felt exhausted and over-weight, as she pulled herself from the floor. She really wasn't either of those things, but it seemed that whatever was pestering them was behind it. SHe managed to hoist herself up finaly and stand looking startled and somewhat frightened also.

"I like this as little as you, but I can't tell what it is. We are going to have to put up with this until be find the source. " Her head slowly began to throb, as she spoke, making her grit her teeth a little. "The ballroom...might be empty, but if there is somehting in here, then It is very good At hiding itself. Lets go." She turned and moved back toward the door, pulling it wide again, it seemed the 'visions' had been more real, than she thought. They had both shared the vision, and there was a bit more of a compelling sign. Thouroughly frustrated and extremely confused, Gwenefiere marched down the next hall, and into a few of the other rooms. They came to the end of the last hall and She began to sweat a little, Something gave her a feeling of anxiety from within the last door. Visibly, it looked a little darker than the others, almost cuagulating her blood. SHe knew in that moment, what was behind that door, and she feared it more than any magick. Frozen she stared wide eyed at the door, which if one watched with a close eye could be seen wavering in and out of itself. He had come, It was true, The Dark Wizard had come, Marcyus, had come. She backstepped, almost tripping on he own feet.

"No...no we have to go now!" SHe grabbed, Alain, and ran back around the corner, opening one of the doors that lined the hallway. She shoved him through hard, and then jumped in after him. It was dark and neither could see, but she set to searching for the Switch.

"No No No! Shit This can't be I'm not ready!" SHe babbled hystericaly to her self and then abruptly stopped and turned to Alain. "What do we do?! If He finds out that I know he is here, he will kill both of us. No wonder the Necro stopped me. He isn't that far away. SHIT!" She rattles the words out, her hands flying about as to give emotions to what she was saying. he stopped though, her arms dropping to her sides and sighed. "We're fucked! Unless..." A grin washed over her features so suddenly, that one would have sworn she had split personalities.

She rushed the door, and flung that wide, being careful to be as quiet as possible. They had somewhere to go, and it would have to be quickly. Taking Alain, by the hand she guided the way opposite the door, and toward the other side ofthe castle's upper level.

He nodded a little bit, looking concerned.

"I wish I knew what it was... but I can block it to a certain point. Beyond that, though... I wish I knew..."

He smiled cheerfully enough, trying to cheer her up as well, she looked like she needed it, and walked along with her. He didn't know much about what to do. This was even more foreign than the rest... what could he do? This was magical... and there was an extent he could block it, but obviously it wasn't nearly enough. His armor felt like it was clocing in on him, the rifle was more of burden than anything else. They got to the door after a while, and he saw the door. At first it didn't look any different, but when the fear came over her features, he touched her arm lightly, and it hit him. The door suddenly turned an almost violent, pitch black. Images of death and carnage and hell washed over him, and he pulled her to him, turning so his back was to the door, protecting her for a time. When she pulled, though, he ran as fast as he could, keeping up with her.

"Gwen! What the hell was that? Who's in there? What the HELL is it doing in your castle?"

He followed her into the room, and listened to her babble on in horror for a time. When she started to run, though, he followed after her, and grabbed her by the shoulders. His grip was gentle enough, but it had the force of half a ton of armor behind it, and he looked into her eyes.

"Gwen, stop. Calm down. Please, tell me what's going on here. Who's there, why are you so afraid? Where are we going?"

Gwenefiere looked half dazed and slightly unaware herself. She really had no idea what to do, but was going on intuition. There was something that she had to do, it was necessary. She stopped though so that she could clarify it for him.

"I am not yet a Vampire...But I know how I must change...I have figured it out, I believe." Her eyes met the cool contrast of the harlequin tiles that adorned the floor. " How could I have forgotten the fountain." She said this more to herself, but it was audible. Returning her eyes to his, once more, she finished her thought.

" Marcyus, has returned. He is the Wizard I told you of...I am not powerful enough right to to face him, he would kill me. If he remembers me...then it could be worse. But I have to be my true form, to take him on, or it would be a fools move." She knew he understood, wouldn't have told him if she felt that he wouldn't. She stopped though, and peered up at him with mild contempt.

"I can't do it right now though...it will take too long. Now that we know where it is, concentrated, we will close the portal!" Her eyes flared with excitement, her hand going to the matter knife at her hip. "This will be how we do it..."

Alain looked at her for a time. She wasn't a vampire... he had known that, somewhere inside... her skin had too much warmth, she blushed... this woman was still human - to an extent. He knew that there was a part of her that still was a vampire, and always would be...

"Alright... Alright I get it"

He let go of her, and smiled a little bit.

"Do what you have to do. I'll back you up."

He smiled slightly, then pulled the clip out of his rifle, slid it into the slot that had opened on the back of his armor, then pulled out a fresh clip, slipped it into the slot on the rifle, and pulled back the slide. The characteristic blue glow ran along the length of the weapon, along the slit on the side, and it hummed briefly as he smiled.

"Come hell or high water, as they say... let's get going."

Her brow furrowed deeply, her eyes moving back and forth from him to the floor. SHe didn't want to go through the door, but that was what they MUST do. They had to close the portal, lest other, more terrible things come through. The Wizard was a devious one indeed. SHe did not want to come face to face with the man, if he could still be called such.

"I don't know if I can...handle this, but we have to go in there. Like it or not. " Her face paled, her yees looking large and bloodshot. She did not remember the last time she had been so scared. SHe did not infact remember much.

"There could be anything behind that door. Things that we did not even think to fear." Her stomach grumbled in tensed agony. Her hand fell to it, and she winced a little. Being human was alot harder than she thought. Now she was hungry. She sighed and returned her pretty eyes to his. He might have to drag her in there.

He nodded, and followed her back to the door, then he gritted his teeth, and nodded to her. He reached out, and his gauntleted hand brushed her cheek lightly, then he lowered his hand and put it to his rifle.

"Then I'll take point, my Queen..."

He nodded, and walked up to the door, resting his rifle on his shoulder, and then he put his hand to the doorknob. Again that feeling of dread, that whatever was behind the door was worse than anything else he had ever faced... but he was ready for that.

"Six years I've fought... what's another few battles... hell, what's another war... No 'Dark Wizard' is going to ruin my new home... I'm stopping this before it goes any further"

With that, his suit's helmet slid up and losked into place, Alain stepped back once, and kicked the door. There was a loud crashing sound, and the door flew inside, badly warped in the center, and slammed against the war on the other side. He dropped to his knee as a creature flew out, and Alain almost froze.

"Splicer!"

It was one of them... a drone, just like the ones that - Oh dear god... he made more from the blood of the ones I killed! I shouldn't have left the bodies, SHIT!

As it leapt, time slowed down, or so it seemed. In reality, the creature actually HAD slowed, to the point where it was barely moving, thanks to Alain's power. His suit's eyes glowing fiercely, he leveled the rifle and fired. Once, twice, then three and four times the blue bolts from the rifle slammed into the creature, punching holes in it's insectlike carapace. Finally he released it with the last shot, and it flew back into the room, slamming to the floor. Alain was furious. They had followed him... well these he knew how to fight... He dove inside the room in a white and black blur, and slammed into the next one, slamming it into the wall with a crunch, as a spiderweb pattern of broken stone split away from the impact, so fierce was it. He backed off just slightly, and as it came back for him, he drew back his rifle and slammed the butt of the weapon across it's face, breaking it's jaw and snapping it's head to the side. He brought the rifle up, slammed it down on the top of it's head, slamming it down into the ground. The creature still wasn't dead, though - so tough were the drones. He turned in time to see a third, and let the rifle fall to the floor. His hand flew to his hip, and he drew the pistol at his side. He leveled it, and the weapon fired, each time with a massive tongue of flame spouting from the barrel. Bullets flew from it and slammed into the creature, blowing holes through it the size of softballs. It crashed, dead. But while Alain was focused on that, the other one was rising from the ground behind him, bladed arms reaching.

Gwenefiere watched with horrified awe as he fought his way through the beasts. They were unfamilier to her, but she could kill them if she had to. Her eyes followed Alain, but always on his back, she was not far from the door and saw as it came at him. Raising a fist from her side, she spoke the words ofa foreeign tongue, And created a magnetism. The lights began to flicker, the electircity changinf weilders. She would attack the creature if it got too close. She figued that if she shocked it, it's body would shut down, thus making the creature imobile. She was not sure if it would work, but hoped to the gods and goddesses that it would. He seemed to almost be taking pleasure in killing the things. She could understand that. Something else caught her attrention though and she looked elsewhere, than the battle. She heard someone whisper her name, off to the right. SHe could not tell the sex of the owner, but it sounded urgent, necessary. She tried not to turn and go to it, tried so hard. It pulled harder though, yanking her mind away from her friend. It poluted her thoughts and pressed the lobes of her brain inward, depressing them it seemed. Then the voice came, sharp and tendril-like over the inside of her skull.

~I remember you, I see you. You can deflate my plans, but be assured that, the next will be a better trick. A trick befalling your friends impending doom...~

The pressure, voice and any sign of Marcyus dissappeared as suddenly as it came, leaving Gwenefiere feeling used up, and empty. She didn't understand what was happening, but returned her focus to the creature, behind Alain. Time was not as long as it seemed, as it was still pulling itself from the floor.

The creatrue behind him lunged, and he spun on it, slamming his elbow into its head. It staggered, he grabbed it by the throat, pinned it to the wall, jammed the barrel of the pistol into its mouth and fired until the clip was empty, then pulled the weapon out, dropping the clip and pullng a fresh one. The pistol actually fired bullets, so he didnt bother saving the clips... he did, however, holster the pistol. Real ammo meant he only had a limited amount. Six clips, according to the indicator. He looked back to her as something else crawled from the portal. It was like the others, but more humanoid. It also had slightly pointed ears, and a feminine cast. Alain's eyes widened behind his visor as the realization hit him. There was a dark laughter in his mind as it did.

That's right, Alain... I couldn't let that slide, you know. Showing kindness to a human inside the walls of my city...? Shameful...

You son of a bitch... I am going to hunt you down and tear your goddamn throat out, you hear me!?

Temper, Corporal...

Alain yelled, and the thing attacked. It was stronger than the others, so much so that it slammed alain into the wall - and through it. He crashed into the hallway near gwen, but he punched it and knocked it off him, then he got to his feet, looking at her.

"Go! Close it!"

The thing crawled to its feet, or was that the word? It seemes to slither, almost... like a snake... Alain growled, and spoke to his AI. AI... run mode five. Bilateral angle is seven point three
WARNING, BILATERAL ANGLE SETTING EXCEEDS NORMAL OPERATIONAL RANGE. CONTINUE?
Alain nodded grimly, and held his hand out towards the thing. Confirm. Six six three seven
CONFIRMED. MODE FIVE SET. BILATERAL ANGLE SET FOR SEVEN POINT THREE. WARNING, NORMAL OPERATIONAL RANGE HAS BEEN EXCEEDED, NOW EXTENDING MAIN CONDUCTOR ASSEMBLY. MODE FIVE CHARGING, CURRENT LEVEL IS FIVE PERCENT.
Alain kept his hand out as the suit's backpack split open, and spread out behind him, almost like wings. Three rods fanned out, pointing behind him, arranged triangularly with each radiating outward away from each other. There was a glow of energy between them, and a crackle from time to time, and blue lines of energy pulsed along the suit to his fingertips.
10 PERCENT
15 PERCENT
20 PERCENT...
