Forgotten: No one can escape. A great flash emerged above all of Aronia leaving each with short term memory loss. Years lost to the fog of amnesia. Can no one recall? That appears to be the case. Whom or what is responsible? Panic has stricken the globe. Will civilization collapse? What will emerge from the reset? Only time will tell. To each citizen of Aronia from the Global Gazette, we wish all luck.

She did not hear him as he spoke to her, but heard the calling from the other side, the whisper of the wind. He did not seem to hear it and she guessed that she was more vampire than she had expected. Pushing in the handle with her palm, she turned it ninty degrees to the right and slowly cracked it open. Dust spewed from the hinges and there came a almost burgundy shadow from within. It was not light, nor was it smoke, but and aura. It radiated with liquid heat, instantly making Gwenefiere sweat as she exposed the inner dwellings of the tomb. SHe pulled the dorr a little more , but stopped, panic washing over her face.

"SHIT!!!"

She slammed the door closed, but the creature managed to get half it's body through the door before she got it closed. It smelled of dog, for what was it but one of the WEREGAURDS!!! She slamed all her weight against the door, pushing the inner handle against it's abdomen. She realized though that she could not take the creature by herself. She knew that Alain would be right there. SHe had only a few moments to question their attacker, but their warning had come earlier, from Sabre.

Alain didn't feel it, whatever it was, but when she opened the door.. that part he felt, and saw. As it came out he tried to pull out his rifle and attack it, but the hallway was small, and there wasn't much room. Thankfully, Gwen had slammed the door on it. He was about to shoto it, but it wrested an arm free, and tried to claw at her, but he grabbed her and pushed her back out of the way, having to remember to be gentle, even in the powerful armor. as soon as she was out of reach of it's claws, though, it shoved the door back open and was on Alain in a flash, moving faster than he had thought possible. It tried to bite at his exposed eyes, but the suit's visor had shut automatically, and it couldn't get through the armor. It tired again, and Alain shoved the rifle side on up into its jaws, so they slammwed shut on the reinforced metal. This worked on drones, it ought to work on this thing, and sure enough, the neo-steel was too tough for the creature to bite through. Narrowing his eyes under the visor, and the suit responding with the characteristic blue slits glowing on the visor as it powered up, Alain brought the suit to full power, then wrenched the creature around and slammed it - hard - into the wall. There was a sickening crunch, and it slid down the wall, trailing blood, but Alain lost his rifle, and got to his feet as it also recovered, and leapt at him. Suchara screamed out, and Alain felt her at his side, the blade glowing dimly as the 'sheath' melted away.

Alain! Please!

Without even thinking, his hands wrapped sround her hilt, then he drew her and lunged forward at the same time, the iridescant blade bit cleanly through the creature, and it fell in two at Alain's feet. It's energy coursed into him through Suchara, and he trembled slightly, pained, as she absorbed it, changing it, and fed it into him. He felt his teeth growing out, and claws ripping from his fingers, before he let out a yell.

SUCHARA! NO!

As stunned as he was at what she had done, she stopped, and Alain fell to his knees amid the blood, his helmet sliding back as the fangs and claws melted away again, panting heavily, but he slid her back into the loop at his waist, grabbed his rifle, and leveled it at the door, still breathing slightly heavier.

"Gwen!? You alright?"

Suchara what was that...?

I... I don't know, I... no one has ever held me in a battle before, Alain I'm so sorry, I...

No, its alright... that must be why Sabre told me not to do that... its alright, not your fault... what did you do...?

Thanks... and I don't know... I took its life, and I changed it... gave it to you somehow...

Changed me... but not into a werewolf...

No, something else... I really dont know, Alain...

I'll ask Sabre... or maybe gwen would know, but I don't think now is the time...

Right...

OOC: Sorry so short...I lost the original post for this....Stupid f***ing popups...

Gwenefiere watched as one suprise flipped to another, first the fierece attack on Alain, then the change that Alain's sword brought to him. SHe was fearful of him almost. She saw the claws and felt the mother energy of the sword, heard it almost. She nodded that she was ok, as she had not fallen though she almost lost her footing when the man brushed her from his way. He stood though looking at her unchanged to the eye, it made her truely wonder what had happened...

moving back to the crypt door, she eyed the imposter wolf. There was something about it that just wasn't her gaurd. She knew it couldn't be. They were implanted with chips, like being given a distemper shot. They were on defense mode only. It was dead alright, it almost looked like less of what it had been, small and shriveled in a way. She had a feeling that Alain's blade would eat the essence of a being, but that was only a guess. She pulle dthe door open slowly, peering in to be sure that there were no other werefolk, or dangers, before she stepped into the scorching heat herself. That was what had made the sound on the door, she was sure of it. There were a few peculiar things about the room, For one, all of the remains around the vault had been pushed against the wall to create a walkspace around the top of the vault which was used as a sort of table. Several viles and urns of many sizes sat on it, along with a couple of her own tomes, that were in her room and a ring. She picked this up and admired it. It was hard though as there was a menacing vibration emitted from the obsidian stone. that crested it's face. This was not her concern though. Pocketing it, she moved to the back wall, and stared in ghastly dismay.

"Alain! You have to see this!" She turned to look at him. Before them was a portal that stood, like a window between their world and somewhere else. The heat was coming from the magickal substance that boardered the opening. On the other side was a place she had never seen, but for some reason she assumed Alain would be able to tell her. Losing all fear of his blade and his change, she lay a hand on his arm out of emotion. This was truely a bad thing.

Alain, looked down, sensing how she was feeling, and Suchara started to apologize again, but he cut her off. Not her fault...

"Gwen, I... Please, don't look at me that way..."

That was almost too much to bear... though he couldn't conciously say why. As she went in, without incident, he swung the rifle around to check the surroundings, make sure there was no more danger. She had been afraid... afraid of him... and though he barely knew her, that dove like a spike directly into his heart... She called, though, and he stood, then ran inside, stopping as she lay a hand on his arm. He could feel her warm touch through his armor, and his worry melted for a moment - until he saw what she had wanted him to see.

"Oh my god... Terra..."

He stepped towards it, eyes wide. The forest... he had seen it before, it was the Black FOrest in Germany, and that castle in the distance, he had seen it in pictures.

"Neu Schwanstei - Wait..."

His jubilation melted, and he stepped back from the portal, shaking his head.

"That's not Terra. That castle was destroyed, about two hundred years ago. My god... its true, then, the alternate universe theories... each descision results in an endless cascade of other possibilities... one is determined by the observer..."

That had been suggested since the late twentieth century, and was even suggested as an explaination for telekinetic power - the observer simply ceased being passive, and took an active role in the reality...

"Its either long in the past or s different universe... but how can this be here? Why is it bad?"

He looked over at her, finally shaking off the shock, his eyes curious.

She was as confused as he. It had been over a thousande years since she had lain eyes on a portal. SHe listened to his rememberance then as it demolished before his eyes. His pain drifted into her mind, poluting it also. She felt for him. She in fact almost watched him walk through. But he corrected himself, realizing that it was not his home, or a much older version of it. If he crossed through, things would not be the same. Stepping between him and the opening, she put her back to him, and pinched the sides of the cut. This trick worked well, but did not close the hole. Pulling the sides of the existance together, they stretched so that she could tie it off. It was almost comical how simple it really was. All things were made of some kind of mater, or of no matter at all. This was like the skin of life, easily mended, but never healing. The tie melted into the wall, forming itself. You cold only make out a little sign of its being there, as the wind from the other side made it rounded, almost pregnant. This is where the matter knife would come in. This portal could open to anywhere when it was opened again. Turning to Alain, she held his eyes for a second then looked away. She could see the spirit of what he had almost become lingering in his eyes. Twas not him that frightened her, but what he could become.

"Let's get moving. We will come back to this later..." SHe peered behind her at the wall. Her fingers had managed to find their way into her pocket and she fiddled with the ring. It was odd, how it reverbrated through her body. She felt almost stronger with it in her grasp. It was unknown to her. Maybe it was a trap. She would not know though, because it already had it's hold over her.

Stepping from the Tomb, she waited in the bright hallway for him to join her.

He watched, a little bit startled as she pulled the hole together. As it happened, though, he was thinking of how it could have happened. Obviously the hole was made of something, at least at the edges... and if the fabric of the universe was as flexible as it seemed there... then it was entirely possible, really. He had the suit recording his thoughts and taking readings the whole time. The AI had an exceptionally powerful ability to analyse and process information, it even had a subsection with a small quantum computer in it - mostly for decryption. The problem was, that even with its massive processing power and data storage capability, it was not sentient. A truly sentient computer took even more memory storage ability and processing - in fact, the smallest processor for a sentient computer was the main computer core on Avalon, and that was bigger than the tomb they were in at the moment. He stepped out after her, and slid the door shut, then he shouldered his rifle again and yawned a little.

"Well... that was odd, but I get the feeling its not what we were looking for. So where to now? The castle, isn't it?"

He would like to see some more of the castle... even if there were more wolves waiting. As long as Suchara didn't change him again... he would keep his promise to Sabre... until she could explain it all to him....

She nodded, as odd was an understatement. She gave him a quizicaly sarcastic grin and then turned and continued up the steps. It did not take too long to get to the top and open the gate, that led into the castle. To get to the castle, one did not have to go through the Tombs, only walk across the small courtyard above. They did not see that part or need to, as the castle was their destination. From the inner gate, Gwenefiere led Alain through the great hall, down many hallways and to the servents quarters. Saura would help them in their seekings. She was the main castle gaurd and an old friend of Gwenefieres.

"We need your help. I want you to round up a small group and search every corner of the bottom floor. Call up Nar and tell her to search the lower levels. This is Alain, he has arrived today, from the Other side." The womans eyes brightened, for she had come from another when. "We will take the upper levels. Meet us in my Study in TWO hours. ALright?" Gwenefiere's face had become a study of something unknown to all around her. She was containing herself. SHe felt the energy, strong and potentialy dangerous. The woman okayed her orders and left the two standing in the center of the small commons room. Her eyes held Alain's face for a long moment before she spoke what she though, both physically and mentaly.

"I think that everything that has happened today has to do with the crossing of worlds. I think that whoever planned this got a very unexpected suprise. I don't think things are working in it's favor." She furrowed her brow and moved her lustrious Azure eyes to the floor. "What could it all mean..." It came out as more of a statement than a question.

"Alright, lets go see what we see..." She patted his shoulder then stepped around him and out the door. From the Commons she led him back to the front of the castle, to her Study. She needed to put the ring away, it was beginning to take her concentration from what was in front of her. In a way, it had changed her, in shuch short time. They wound their way through the array of polished furniature and oddly shaped rooms back to the great hall. Hers was the one at the right. Taking hold of the brass knob, she turned it, reminicing with the days of old. Of times before. It was locked, suprisingly. It was odd though, as the rage came over her. There was no reason for the anger, that came like thunder rolling over the fabric of her brain. Stepping backwards, she lifted her leg and kicked the door, the jamb cracking and the door flying backwards and hitting what lay behind it.

The noise of it frightened her out of her transifixiation, and back to reality. Something pulsed at her side and her hand fumbled for the pocket that held the ring. She whipped it from the material and flung it into the dark room.

"WHat the...I did that!" SHe spun on him in horror. What had she done? It was only a door, but that was not like her to do such. It had been the dark charm of someone not too far away.

OOC: Yeah...I know corny, but I'm not done, I've only begun! Muwahahaha

Alain laughed a little, and followed her. he loved the castle... had from the first time he had walked into it, even though he had oly been to the jail and the armory, it was still a beautiful thing... a marvel of architecture that rivaled even the floating and underwater cities on his world. Someday he wanted to take her to the city at the pole, what they had named Atlantis, after the fabled lost city of thousands of years ago. He wanted to take her to the gardens, where you could lay down on the grass and look up at the massive force field, a slight transparent shimmer, and beyond it the dolphins and whales swimming effortlessly through the water... he talked to them, sometimes. Not many could, but he could feel it... he could feel their minds. Not talk in the human sense, but he brushed their minds with his, and they always responded... it was his favorite thing to do when he had leave time but couldnt go back home to his familiy. Every now and again he swam with them, but... that water was really, really cold...

As she introduced him, he snapped out of his thoughts, and the helmet split so he could smile and nod to the woman before running after Gwen again. When they got to the study, he stopped and waited. His mind was clouded, though, suddenly, just as she started to feel the anger, her form in front of him started to warp, to change. In an instant it was not her, but a horrible creature - A splicer. His hand flew to his weapon, and he started to draw it when suchara yelled out in horror.

Alain!

Her yell snapped him back, though he still saw the abomination, and his hand would not leave the rifle. He felt posessed, not within his own control. and it took every inch of his will not to aim the gun at Gwen. There was a laugh again, one he recognised, and a dark shape at his side. As she kicked the door open, he finally was able to slip it back over his shoulder, though his muscles still trembled slightly.

"Yeah... and I almost... something hit me too, I don't know what... but... it felt like... like those veins that came out of the door..."

He looked at her as she threw the ring away, frowning.

"We should keep going... whatever it is, I can feel it. Its still close..."

OOC: I await your reply, my dear ^_^

In some odd horrific way she felt drained, eaten away, but she shrugged it off, unknowing of the weapon so close to killing her. She was not thinking, or feeling, something else had done it to her. There was nothing she needed in her ofice, but it seemed that the item had wanted to go there. SHe could not leave it out and unattended in her office, there was too much magick to be picked away and distorted for that. She looked at him cautiously and then took a deep breath.

"I dont' know if I can go in there with it by myself." She sounded childish and stupid, but she feared the small hunk of metal and stone. Moving to the jamb, she felt along the wall for the light switch. She oculd almost feel the hot breath of something on her hand. Finding it finaly, breathing hard and sweating, she flicked it on, her eyes fixed on her hand. Nothing was there. Her eyes adjusted quickly and she looked around for the ring. It was not under her table or chairs. She looked around her book cases and searched the floor as thuroughly as possible. She stood and looked to him, after moving to the other side of the table and looked back there.

"I dont see..." Her eyes dropped to the table, catching the glittering reverbration of the ring. "Gotcha!" She grabbed it and spun, selcting a large black wooden boxk. Pulling it's catch and pushing up the lid, she squeezed the ring through the slit and slamed the lid tight once again. SHe caught the catch and breathed once again. Moving to the doorway, she clicked off the light and continued onwards.

"Where do you feel it? I am having a hard time discerning..." She looked him in the eyes catching his fear this time. "What? Did you see soemthing I didn't?"

He nodded to her about what she said, and followed her into the room. Honestly, he didn't want to go in there at all, but if she had to, then he would follow her in. he was about to point to the ring - with the suit, he had seen where it had gone even in the blackness - but she found it on her own anyways, and he smiled a little, walking out of the room with her. He picked the door up too, and rested it in it's frame, though a good push and it would fall. Still, better than leaving it on the floor. He nodded a little to her question.

"yes... it tried to ake me do something too. But I think I only got it through your mind... thats why I didn't. I did see - or feel - something going that way, though."

He could still sense vaguely what direction it had gone in, and he motioned for her to follow, taking the lead this time on his own. He followed the dim energy around several winding corridors, and finally got to a hallway with many doors running down it's length. He shook his head.

"It's too faint... I'm not sure which way to go from here... but it has to have gone somewhere down this way, I'm sure of it..."

He looked back at her, concerned. Whatever this was, it was becoming a real pain... and he was not going to have his mind violated again, no way...
