Forgotten: No one can escape. A great flash emerged above all of Aronia leaving each with short term memory loss. Years lost to the fog of amnesia. Can no one recall? That appears to be the case. Whom or what is responsible? Panic has stricken the globe. Will civilization collapse? What will emerge from the reset? Only time will tell. To each citizen of Aronia from the Global Gazette, we wish all luck.
Welcome to Aronia. We hope you enjoy your visit.

He stood, drawing the blade at his right hip - the largest he carried, a dager nearly a foot long, viciously sharp and beautfiully engraved - one of his best thefts... smiling, he rested a hand on her shoulder, then he shook his head and looked down at the man - so he was from the same place...

"Don't worry about it."

he tossed a package down by the man, and looked at him for a moment.

"Food in there. Youd do well to stay here, easy to get lost in these tunnels..."

He looked back at Isabel, his eyes glowing slightly as they sometimes did.

"Shall we go then...? Make that bastard pay...?"

Family? Thane didn't understand the question at first. Then he shook his head in answer. He glanced down at the package, he could smell it but he did not feel like eating. Though he didn't wish for them to go to that awful place he wasnt sure if he could stop them. Then it dawned on him, the girl meant she was the girl who ran away. She was the one who fled, this caused him to smile a bit again, "She..she didnt cry...no matter what he did, she smiled.." the words were slow, stretched out, rough, but still in a noticably proud tone. Of course he seemed to think his words made perfect sense despite the fact he was being rather indirect with his words.

His words, although spaced out, were not hard to understand. She nodded silently in response to them. "She couldn't cry. It only made him happier. If she didn't cry, he would get fed up and leave her alone until next time." The 'she' she referred to, was, of course, herself 15 years ago...

But she was such a different person now. It was hard to remember a time without Drake by her side. Perhaps that was her way of her brain telling her that those times were not good enough to be remembered. She could never forget them, though. Those memories were just as much a part of her as Drake was today.

After a moment of silence, she turned to Drake and cautiously broke it. "We really should get going... It's going to be a long day." Turning her eyes back to Thane, she sent him a stiff smile. What she was going to be doing today would not be easy, physically or emotionally. "Our offer still stands if you'd like to exact some revenge as well."

Hanging her head, she turned her back to both men and slowly began making her way over to a ladder that led them closer to the surface. After only a second or two of walking, her head jerked back up and she took in a deep breath. If she had enough confidence, she couldn't be defeated - she wouldn't be defeated.
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.
Kaylee: He looks kinda mean.
Wash: That's sorta what I meant.
Simon: This must be what going mad feels like.
Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me...

He waited patiently for her, then took a breath and walked away for a moment, letting the two former slaves talk for a time. He didnt say anything, though, until Isabel walked away. After that, he walked over to the man, his eyes only slightly less hard.

"You've had it bad. Almost as bad as she had it, I imagine... well one way or another she's set on fixing it for all the rest... and whatever she's going to do, I'm set on helping her. Rest. No one ever comes down here, you'll be safe enough. Just stay put. She'll worry if you lose yourself."

He nodded, then walked over to her by the ladder and put an arm around her shoulder, holding her close.

"It ends today. You know that, and soon he will too. So let's do this. No one in the world can stop us, you know that. Not together."

The fools were going back. To the mansion. Suicide. He tilted his head in slight confusion. When they walked away he knelt down, picking up and dawning the set of chains yet again as well as the blood stained cloak. Then he followed after the two. No, he could not get lost here. Not with a fresh scent to track. They were easy to follow for the man smelt like nothing human. He would stay out of their sight, a good ways back just to avoid detection. The day traveled back to when he had been chained up, after he had lashed out when the collar about his neck was activated. Biting master's arm crushing the bone. He had not liked that at all, a full year of being chained up and in constant pain. The man must pay, they were right, though he knew nothing but slavery it would seem that his assumption of a better life was right. Even if it was on the run.

Drake's words cut through her thoughts and she turned to face him, only to find herself caught up in a tight hug. Smiling quietly, she nodded her head. "He'll see..."

Grabbing one of the lower rungs of the ladder, she hoisted herself up to the surface and put her ear to the wood. Not a sound up above. Slowly, she lifted the cover and crawled into the alley. Once Drake was out, too, she stood and brushed her new clothes off and quickly began heading towards her old Master's house. She wrapped two tendrils around her mind, securing herself before the pain ensued so that she didn't have to deal with it at all. It worked, as she had expected it to.

Her chin held high, she marched through the streets silently, staring past any who passed her on the street without a smile or a nod. She was almost there now. Taking in a deep breath, she made up her mind silently. Instead of sneaking in again, she would walk straight up to the front door.

Her knuckles collided with the wooden door a few times, making a knocking sound. The butler answered. He had been old when she was living here - now he looked ancient and beaten. "Is Mr. Helmer in?"

"Yes, Ma'am, but he's not seeing anyone at the moment."

Isabel heard what she thought to be a young girl crying. Narrowing her eyes, she looked to the butler slave. "You WILL let me in. I've some words that need to be said to Mr. Helmer." Pushing past the old man was no problem. Not only was he old, but he was weak, obviously beaten recently.

Her eyes landed on each slave she passed as they scurried away from her. She didn't know why they would be so frightened, but as she looked in a mirror she figured it out. She looked pissed. Upon closer inspection, she noticed a light, green aura surrounding her. Scowling, she pressed on through the house familiarly until she reached the door to Helmer's office. She knocked. Sniffling could be heard.

"If that's you again Grey, I swear I'll beat you til you're all sorts of black and blue!"

She opened the door and stepped in. "I'm not Grey."

He nodded, and followed her closely through the streets. He'd never seen Isabel like this before... so painfully focused, deadly... she had always been deadly, but this was a different sort... burning, absolute anger. He wanted to calm her, but that would have to come after. For now, all he could do was keep her safe, protect her... and watch for that idiot Thane following them. Oh, sure, he was going to sneak along behind them, and then what? yeesh, and to think Drake wouldn't notice.... well the man obviously didnt know him. He waved a little to the old man as she pushed him aside, shrugging a bit, then followed her to the door, almost laughing.

"Yeah, she really isn't grey. But then, you teo have issues to work on, I'll make sure you aren't bothered."

A guard ran down the hallway, Drake made like he was going to step aside for the man, but instead slammed his arm into the man's chest, then caught him by the legs and cracked hs head against the floor before dropping him just inside the door.

"He wants to hear too. Speak your piece."

Though the trickle of blood from the man's temple made it obvious he wasn't going to be listening... Drake smiled to Isabel, then leaned against the doorframe, casually.

He wasnt sure, as he followed. Though upon entering the mansion in the wake of their approach it was clear that this would not get interesting. He stopped, seeing them ahead, a gaurd on the ground. He knew the other gaurds would soon be arriving even as he walked up behind the two. He was going to say something as he came up behind Drake but stopped. His eyes caught the former master of his in the room just past Drake and immediatly he began to growl. Teeth barred as they started to become pointed but Thane did not change, no he was trying to hold back the rage but still he began to walk into the room, trying to pass Drake.

She glared across the room at her old Master. The child, now cowering in the corner, was crying even louder now. "Look at what you've done to her!" Isable screamed. "She'll never be the same again! She'll never live a happy, wholesome life and it's all your fault, you sick piece of shit!"

Her mind lashed out at anything and everything in the room. It was hard to control herself when she got emotional like this. Taking a few steps forward, she watched as Helmer made a few trips back. His hand moved behind him, towards a bust of an older man, his father. It never reached the statue. No, it came back, and threw him over the table, landing on the floor at Isabel's feet.

"You ruined my life. You ruined his life," she pointed behind her to a growling and approaching Thane, "and you've ruined this poor, innocent little girl's life! What do you have to say for yourself?"

Crouching down, her eyes remained solemn, her face a stone and the green aura slowly brightening around her body. "No answer?"

A bustling group of guards came rushing into the room. One shouted out orders to his group and then yelled at Isabel, Drake and Thane. He gave them to the count of three...

Isabel was not concerned about the guards. Drake could take them on, and if he couldn't Thane was there and could possibly be of some assistance. That is, if his mind wasn't going crazy - unfortunately, hers was. Snarling ferally down at Helmer, she ran a tendril down his cheek gently, reassuringly. Then she slapped him with it. It would not leave a mark, but it would sting like hell.
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.
Kaylee: He looks kinda mean.
Wash: That's sorta what I meant.

"Wondered when you'd show."

He touched Thane's shoulder with the back of his hand, then pointed behind him, at Isabel.

"Watch this. And take note - don't mess with Iz when she's angry. Scary stuff."

He relaxed after that, even with the sounds of smashing and things breaking, not to mention the slaver's screams. When the three guards came in through the other door, though, Drake sighed and walked towards them as the lead guard counted. One. Two. Drake drew his dagger-knife and tapped it against his palm.

"Let me help you with that. Three."

Before the man could attack, Drake slammed the back of his fist into the mna's nose, shattering it and spraying blood over the ground. He then slammed the knife into the top of his shoulder, just below the neck, and vaulted around him, using the knife as sort of a pole. He slammed his boot into the side of the second guard's head, knocking him back into the doorframe, which splintered and left him falling back into the hall. As the third man tried to turn and follow him, Drake ripped the blade out of the first man, nearly taking his shoulder and arm with it, then brought it around in a graceful arc - the blace passed right through the man's neck. He dropped, the head still barely attached, and Drake continued the ark - right into the back of the first man's head. He pulled the knife out and wiped the blood off on a still dry portion of the man's uniform, then straightened and rubbed his neck before looking over at Helmer, rather pointedly.

"You're screwed."
