"We most certainly can leave him here. He was going to attack you!" He looked at the thing for a moment, then he looked back up at her. He hadnt managed much of a connection, wasnt what he was good at, but... he had known she would hear him. Hadnt been the first time they had known what the other was going to say. After the latest in events, he sometimes thought they really might have a kind of connection... still... if there was one thing he knew... "You won't leave him though... but he's not coming to our home. If this is a trick, he could run right back to the guard. you know how badly they want our heads." Carefully, he walked over to the man, and took him over his shoulder. "You can let go. I'll take him to the place where the three main pipes come together, you know what I mean. Bring some food and a cup, and open your present, huh?" He smiled, a little ruefully. "I was hoping this morning was going to go a little better... still, open it before you come. Might come in handy" She would know he wasnt going to hurt the man if she didnt want it... wouldnt be like him. He might be cold to everyone but her, but if she wanted him to live... fine. but if the man attacked, or made so much as a threatening gesture at her again... he was going to die. She would know that... |

Her face softened into a more relaxed smile and she released her hold on the man. She gave Drake a quick kiss on the cheek before turning and climbing down the ladder. The small splashes of her barefeet connecting with the ground a few seconds later let Drake know she was on her way back home to get the required necessities as fast as possible. When she reached the other ladder, she didn't feel like slowing up. Jumping down, she broke her fall with her mind. Immediately, she grabbed up a loaf of bread and sent a cup flying towards her, all in one fluent motion. She snagged an apple as well, alone with the cheese. Putting all of these things in her small backpack, she looked around and saw a brown package on her cot. The gift! She'd almost forgotten about it. Putting the backpack on the bed, she picked up the package and opened it slowly, gently. Her eyes opened wide at the gift inside: clothes. They were soft and a very pretty green and perfect! Without caring whether there was anyone here now or not, she stripped from her sheet, balling it up and putting it back on her cot. When the clothes were on finally, she spun around and admired herself as best she could, twirling around and smiling. A smile remained on her face as she grabbed the spool of thread and needle in her right hand as she raced past the pillow with her old clothes. She climbed up the ladder quickly, two rungs at a time. Running as fast as her long legs would take her, she finally arrived at the place where the three tunnels met in a few minutes' time. |

Wash: I think they really captured his essence. Kaylee: He looks kinda mean. Wash: That's sorta what I meant. Simon: This must be what going mad feels like. Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me... | |

During his unconcious state, he didnt move a whole lot. An occasional twitch and a whine that should only come from a beaten dog, other than that he was still and quiet. Though still in his human form, even unconcious he seemed to have an angry look about him, scowling at whatever it was running through his head at the moment. The cloak moved, revealing the torso wrap of secured chains end the hooked blades at each end that was secured around each arm. Though there were a number of loose ends on his right arm. The wounds had all but healed, the blood not quite dried yet never had the chance to scab before the wounds had actually sealed themselves. He gave a deep growl and his head turned to the side, the scowl finally leaving as an almost indifferent expression replaced it. |

When he got to the place he had spoken of, he put the man on the ground - not roughly, but he wasnt especially gentle about it either. Once that was done, he stepped off a little bit, and leaned against the wall, pulling one of the knives he carried and a cloth, with which he cleaned blood off the blade from the previous day. "Sloppy of me not to clean this. Always have to keep a blade clean, so you're sure of how it will behave the next time. Especially if it's a throwing knife. This one isnt though, and will kill a man, dried blood or not." He dipped the cloth in the water, and cleaned the rest. "If you want, go ahead and have some water. Been drinking out of these ducts for a good twenty-two years now, good stuff, and no one notices if you know which ones to drink from. This is one of them. Of course, fall in it, it's about nine feet deep so youd best do some swimming." He looked over at the man finally, his lavender colored eyes gleaming in the dim light. "I should mention one thing. Stay calm, I'll treat you fine and you can go when your wounds heal. But if you ever make a move to attack her again, I will kill you where you stand. So that's where your life hangs. Remember that." |

His eyes snapped opened and he rolled away from the two. Getting into a crouched position and looking up at them. His eyes narrowed at the man and he simply shook his head in response to what he had been told. Not a word said, lips didnt even part this time. Slowly he began to stand, his head tilting to one side as he watched the two. His eyes searched them over again and he sniffed the air. His full attention diverting to the man again and his eyes narrowed. |

First thing when she reached the tunnel, she went to Drake and hugged him carefully, noting the knife in his hands. "Thank you so much! They're amazing!" She would have twirled around and modeled the clothes for Drake right here and now, but the man woke up and stood quickly. With a small gasp, she dropped the backpack gently to the floor. In one hand, she clutched a cloth and a bar of soap, in the other, the spool and needle. Her eyes scanned the man's body and she frowned at the large, metal chains keeping him hostage. They obviously weren't keeping him penned up somewhere anymore, but still... just the idea of keeping other creatures as your slave was cruel. She'd been a slave once and she had never liked it; it had forever scarred her. Moving forward to the man slowly, she dipped the cloth in the clean water beside her before standing back up directly in front of him. "Please, you should sit or lay... I don't want to hurt you anymore than these bonds already have. And don't mind him behind me. He's just protective." She smiled reassuringly up at the rough man and then looked to the wounds covering his body. "Please..." |

He was a little startled at how suddenly she came up, but his expression melted as he hugged her back, and he even smiled a little bit. "Was the least I could do after seeing the holes in your last pair..." He watched the man carefully, but he didnt make a move to attack, seeing isabel so quick to go to help him. He couldnt figure why she wanted to... but she had always been the kindest of souls... shaking his head a little, he sheathed his knife and tossed her the roll of bandages he had been keeping. "Here. May as well do it right." He gave the creature one least warning look, then leaned back against the wall and closed his eyes, just listening for now... if he made a move... well there wasnt a more accurate knife thrower in the world... |

He looked to the girl, then to the guy again. Uncertain of what to think, his hands coiled into fists but his arms dropped to his sides in a gesture of submission. Although there were no longer any open wounds besides the constant scratches the chains were making but those didnt bleed and healed almost instantly. He watched the girl carefully, though they seemed to be friendly he wasnt going to let his gaurd down. |

The bandages stopped, midair and floated beside her head as she waited for the man's consent to her helping him. His hands balled up into fists, but he relaxed soon and she smiled. Stepping forward, she closed her eyes and took a look at the metal bonds, not with her eyes, but with her mind. Some of the pieces had stuck fairly deep inside his flesh. Wincing slightly, she held his arms down mentally as she bent the metal back, out of him. Once it was not stuck on him so much, she removed it physically and set it down quietly on the floor so as not to make noise. She did this same routine with all of the metal bonds on his body before taking a better look at the wounds themselves - quite an easy task because of how little clothing he wore. "My name is Isabel. What's yours?" The cool water dropped onto the man's flesh as she gently scrubbed the wounds, cleaning off the dried blood. The wounds were not nearly as bad as she had imagined they would have been. "So, where are you from?..." |

Drake sort of slid down the wall into a sitting position, not really having much else to do, at least not at the moment. Though, of course he wasnt going to leave isabel alone with this... well whatever it was, he wasnt leaving her with it. Maybe a little irrational, but he was sure as hell going to stay. He watched as she did her best to help him, and he frowned a little. Thing healed much to quickly... once she got the metal out he doubted the man would even need bandaging... What are we dealing with, I wonder... Isabel I sure hope you're right about this... or we could be in for one hell of a run of trouble. "Hasn't said a word the whole time, he might not speak, you know..." He thought if the thing could, a little prodding might tempt it to do so |
