OOC: I'm assuming the aqueduct is like the larger ones around and stretches across the city and branches out not to say my character isnt anywhere near their little hideout, but just to say there is a chance he's not. I'll leave that up to you two. HAHA, i finally got in on the posting. He wrapped the cloak tighter around him as he stumbled blindly into the aqueduct. Blood droplets trailing him in his wake. He didnt really have a chance to land on his feet, instead his body fell heavily down onto the stone pathway next to the water, a yell of fustrated pain left him on impact and there he layed, lost, broken, tired, but atleast free. The stolen, now bloodied, cloak wrapped tightly around him, even drawn up to cover his head. He was in human form, so no one would freak when they saw him. His brown hair a matted mess, and he was dirty, having no clothes but the ragged shorts given to him a good while ago. He could steal more when he was done healing. He glanced down both directions then up to see if anyone had followed him this far, but it didnt seem likely. |

He came back not long after she woke, dropping down the opposite hole from the one they normally came down. He walked over to her, and crouched down. "Hey, Iz. Miss me? Sorry to leave like that, but like i said, I didnt go far." He kissed her forehead, and dropped a package into her lap. It was pretty light, but was a good size, and wrapped in crinkly brown paper. He grinned a little mischeviously. "For all the birthdays I was never able to get you anything. Hope you like -" It was then that the sound of the man hitting the ground caught his ears, which were rather more sensitive than most peoples. He shook his head a little. Now and then people came down, but no one had ever found their home, luckily enough... he picked her hand up and squeexed it, not looking at all worried. "Go on, open it. I'll see what it is and be right back, kay?" Silently, he faded back into the shadows and slipped up the ladder. He knew the aquaducts like th back of his hand, and found the source of the noise easily. Silently, he drew the knife at his left hip, a black steel weapon that would reflect none of the dim light from the still open hole, and stayed there, not moving a muscle, his eyes fixed on the man. He didnt seem a threat... but Drake wasnt going to let him try and become one... ooc: its a set of new clothes, make up something she'd like, lol. I mean, nothing fancy, but something that suits her. |

He hadnt noticed the person at first. For a few he seemed completely oblivious of his presence. Several times he had tried to stand on to fall back down and a low growl of pain leaving him each time. A thin layer of blood was caked on the stone beneath him though it didnt seem like he realised it, or atleast didnt mind. Finally his head tilted back. The hood of the cloak falling back to show the unshaven stubble on his face, he shook his head and inhailed sharply through his nose. Suddenly he stiffened up, his eyes focusing and his head snapped into the direction of the one watching him. A deep growl rolling from his chest, bared teeth revealing rather sharp k9s on both the upper and bottom rows of his teeth. He shifted, the sound of chains clanking together coming from under the cloak once again. |

Drake was near. She could feel him climbing down into the home from a different ladder than normal. Standing quickly, she hugged the sheet around herself more tightly and blinked down at the package as he kissed her forehead. Her face flushed pink as she continued to stare at the package. "I... You didn't have to... I mean..." she stammered awkwardly. She'd never received any gifts of any kind before. It was a weird sensation, knowing someone cared enough about you to buy something for you. A single tear fell from her right eye and rolled silently down her cheek as she continued to admire the present. Hearing Drake's words, she finally noticed the odd sensation in the tunnels above. She frowned slightly as he left her again. No, not alone again... Putting the package down on her cot, she took off after Drake, the thought of being alone here again, not a happy one in her mind, even if she knew he would only be up two ladders and down the tunnel a ways. When she reached the top of the second ladder half a minute after Drake, she shivered. She was unsure as to whether the shiver was from the cold draft running through the tunnel against her bare shoulders or the fact that Drake had just drawn his knife. A fight? Who could possibly be down here? Had someone followed them?? A small gasp escaped her lips as she stood behind Drake. The man had just shifted from the form of a man into one of a large, wolf-like beast. She'd seen something like this once before, back at her Master's house. One of the boys had shifted like that. Her mommy had pulled her away from the window before she could see anything else. Now she saw why her mommy had pulled her away... this creature not only looked malicious, but all she could feel was a frightful sense of danger surrounding him. Taking a few steps back slowly, she closed her eyes, preparing to defend herself and Drake if the need arose. |

Wash: I think they really captured his essence. Kaylee: He looks kinda mean. Wash: That's sorta what I meant. Simon: This must be what going mad feels like. Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me... | |

"Isabel!" He whispered harshly, then turned back to her and put a hand on her shoulder. God, she was only in a blanket...? He knew better than anyone she didnt even need to move to lay waste to an entire group of people, but... "Go home, alright? I won't be long..." He had sheathed the knife, and was loosening the straps that usually held his oversized clothes tight to his body - something he had never really explained to her, because she had never asked. There was a reason he never stole clothes that fit, though... "And... and I'm not sure, if this gets ugly... if I want you to see..." He smiled, a little sadly, and turned back to the creature, sheathing his knife, but his expression was drawn, almost as though in pain, but really he was just trying not to show his worry. He pulled his gloves off, and stuck them in a pocket. If the thing wanted a fight... this as going to get very ugly indeed... "Please, Iz... I'll be fine..." |

He heard the two talking, his ears perking up as he listened in on them. Though he heard the words and knew their meaning it wasnt that he was listening for, it was that hint of urgency in the males voice. He whiffed at the air again and grunted. He could smell fear but it wasnt the usual, it wasnt because of him. A different sort. He slowly stood, although now a bit taller the cloak he had stolen still completely hid his upper torso and most of his lower down to the reverse joints on his legs. One was clearly broken but turning it sharply the bone gave an audible snap as it healed back together. His arms stretched out, revealing the large, clawed hands up to his wrist. Blood still dripping down his arms. He leaned towards them and roared at the two, a rather aggressive display but he made no advance on the position. |

Isabel's vibrant purple eyes were fixed on the creature now as Drake spoke to her. Her hand moved up to her shoulder and she gripped his hand tightly, still frightened. The beast's standing straighter and taller did not help this fear. Gulping, her whole body shook as she took a cautious step forward. She could see the blood coating the beast's fur now and she winced at the sound of a bone snapping. Letting go of Drake's hand, she took a few more small steps towards the creature, holding her hand out palm up, in a sign of peace. He hadn't been a creature the whole minute she'd been here, so she hoped deep down was some sort of sign that he was still a man and could still be nice like one. "There, there..." she cooed up to it (for it was at least two feet taller than her now), "We're not here to hurt you..." Her eyes scanned his body, noting all of the painful looking gashes in his thick, matted fur. "Come now... You're hurt. You don't want to fight... I promise we won't hurt you." She was only two feet away from the creature now and she was nervous as ever. Her mind's tendrils coiled themselves near the creature's maw and claws in case he decided to jump her. She hoped he didn't, but she didn't want to simply be left to its dangerous whims if his head wasn't screwed on all the way for the moment being. |

He almost yelled as she walked by him, but stopped himself. Yelling wasnt what he wanted to do... the thing's roaring didnt frighten him, but now that the thing was so close to his isabel... his? Well he had always thought of her that way... and she had called him hers before. If either of them belonged to anyone, it was to each other... still, the thought sounded a little weird sometimes. So, he took a step forward as well, not walking between her and the thing, but he stood right behind her shoulder, in a position so that if it ran or leapt at her, he could get in the way and kill it. His hand stayed on the hilt of the black knofe - it had fangs and claws now, he was keeping his bite at the ready... the real bite would only be unleashed if this went wrong... He tried something despearate after that, and tried to reach out to her, hoping she could hear his thoughts if he tried hard enough. ~Isabel, please... I can take care of this, you shouldnt be fighting without any clothes on...~ |

He drew back, dropping the threatening posture for a moment as a female emerged. She was speaking, he listened carefully, there he found sincerety in her voice. He was tired, hurt, and needed the rest to heal so if she was as sincere as she seemed then he could do just that. His massive shoulders slumped a bit without him realising it, showing the fatigued state he was in. Then the other one emerged from the shadows. His eyes darted to the young man and looked him over. He was getting ready to grab something, aggression was pouring off this one. His head was light from bloodloss, maybe he was wrong but he didnt want to take the risk. He went to lung at the two but as he crouched down to make his pounce a dizzy feeling rushed over him and his sense of balance went. Everything was black before his head hit the ground, reverting back to his human form as his limp body sprawled out on the ground. |

A shock was sent throughout Isabel's body as she felt Drake's mind entereing hers. Her tendrils remained close to the wolfish creature, but she looked back to Drake. She was about to enter his mind carefully and respond, but the beast lunged. Her tendrils wrapped around his arms and maw instantly and a few pushed his chest back, keeping him away from her, but for some reason, the creature fell back without her tendrils pushing it too much. His body had shifted back into that of a man. Taking a look back at Drake, her eyes held sympathy for the man covered in blood lying at their feet. ~We can't leave him here...~ she cooed over to him, straight to his mind. ~It just wouldn't be right.~ The creature's body rose up behind her and followed her by a few feet as she moved back over to Drake. "We should help him." |
