Thane watched with a slightly detached interest. Glancing carefully between the new girl and the other two. All seemed well except for that Drake person who was always on edge it seemed. Once he was mentioned he looked up at Isabel curiously then layed down on the floor. Deciding that the day had held enough excitement and he wished to sleep for now.

He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep almost immediatly. Of course now he was in the middle of the floor. Oddly enough his head was placed on the chains wrapped about his arms, using them as a pillow. Once every few moments one of the hooks bit into his skin, causing him to twitch but it did not appear to interrupt his sleep. The pain a sad familiarity in his life and he had learned to ignore most of it.

Sonia looked across the space at the others. She saw the way the girl looked her over, and found it not disturbing, but somewhat odd. She did not pass judgement though, that was unfair, because she was the only one who stuck up for her. That in itself made the girl her new friend, because where she came from, no one stuck up for anyone. So She figured that the girl could look at her however she liked, and it would be Sonia's pleasure. The one who slept on the floor, intrigued her the most. he pitied the poor creature in his ways. She wished that she had some convience to offer him, but alas, she wasn't so lucky. She wondered absently why he still wore his chains. But she still wore her cuffs, so she figured them even, though she knew his story was much different from hers. The one who clung to the girl with the ferocity of a lion scared her a little, he seemed short and quick to jump. Somewhat froggy in her vision. Sonia wondered what made him that way. The silence that followed killed her, so she racked her brain for some way to bring a dull coherence to the bleak empty.

"So how did you all get here?" She asked rather timidly, focusing her attention on the girl. She added a small smile to the equation and waited to figure in the math.

"Alright."

He still looked at Isabel, eyes narrowed slightly, then he raised a hand when she introduced him to the newcomer. He was walking back to his cot to gather a few things when the lady asked how he had gotten here, and he pulled the rest of his things off, then dumped them in his drawer, shut it, then stood.

"Women get the beds. And I've been here since I was five. Father kicked me out on my ass after my mom died. Is and the guy here both escaped the same slaver, just at different times. Luckily enough the fucker is dead now. Isabel, I need to talk to you - alone. As for you... You just..."

He motioned to the new lady, and shrugged.

"Make yourself at home, just don't make a lot of noise - and don't smoke in here. Go topside if you have to. Just be quiet about it."

he looked at Isabel, a very pointed look in his eyes, then he climbed up the ladder opposite where Thane and the other woman were, before going down the path a bit. Iz would know where he was headed...

Isabel watched Thane curiously. She felt bad for the poor guy. She wanted to go over and take the chains off of his body for him, as they looked quite painful. Had she ever seen him not bleeding profusely from those wounds since she'd met him? She didn't think so.

The uneasiness she sensed from the woman made her feel slightly uneasy herself. Adjusting her eyes to the woman, she smiled softly at her, letting Drake do most of the talking. What he said was true, but Isabel knew that he could have spoken much more kindly to the woman. Perhaps if he'd been a bit less angry about it, it wouldn't have sounded so... well, so un-Drake. "Yes, I do..." she murmured in response to his need to talk with her. Turning to the woman, Isabel smiled apologetically, but motioned for her to do as Drake said and make herself at home.

With a quiet sigh, Isabel began heading down the tunnel. She didn't need her slightly psychic abilities to know where Drake was going. Before finally rounding the corner leading to she and Drake's favorite moon gazing spot, she pulled a strand of loose hair from her face and took a deep breath. At last, she turned the corner and smiled quietly at her best friend. "Drake... You okay? You seem a bit... on edge. You're scaring me, Drake..." She let her words sink in for a few moments before speaking up again. "I've never seen you act so cruelly before, Drake. You've been like a different person all day long. Are you still the Drake I know and care for?" Moving forward, she put her hand on his forearm gently, concerned. "Please, tell me what's bothering you, because I'm fairly certain it's not that poor Sonia woman."
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.
Kaylee: He looks kinda mean.
Wash: That's sorta what I meant.
Simon: This must be what going mad feels like.
Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me...

He continued to sleep. A deep rythmic breathing the only sound in the room after Isabel and Drake had left. It wasnt soon before the dreams began. His leg kicking a bit.

His dream was a smoking mirror of his younger years. That collar around his neck, being shocked, forced to perform tricks for his owners friends. A low growl emitted from his throat as the day he had bitten his master passed through his mind. Then he was beaten, badly, his body twitching as a low whine passed his clenched teeth. In his dream it was not his master but the dissembowled corpse they had left at the mansion doing the beating, and the dead gaurds. He continued to twitch as he dreamt, the nightmare not ending. His twitching causing the chain to bite into his arms and now even his cheek, droplets of blood running down his forearms and onto the ground.

Sonia nodded to Drakes requests. SHe didn't mind really. She was of course sitting in their hideout, a newcomer and suspicious. SHe understood perfectly. The last thing she wanted was to cause trouble though. It was not her place. SHe really didn't even know where she was, so how could she really know who to tell or who not to. That's why she kept to herself. Smiling to Isable as she followed after drake, she wondered what was so different about the girl. She saw it in her eyes, the distance and deepness of what was inside her head. It was truely bewildering. She watched after them as they left, wondering where the tunnels led off to. DIdn't matter really. Exploring would only get her in trouble. LEaning her head back against the edge of the opening she sat in, Sonia closed her eyes and breathed deeply, trying to figure her next move. They were after her, and there wasn't shit she could do about it. She could almost smell the dogs that were aftrer her, and hear their yelps. What was she to do? She was lost at this point. But she couldn't have withstood another day of torture, the pokeing and proding of needles and tubes in every vein or oriphus in her body. The thought made her cringe. From somewhere outside her thoughts came the whine that was much too akin with that of her followers. Her pale eyes shot open and toward the direction from which it came. Sonia's eyes fell upon the poor creature who lay bloody on the floor of the underground network. She saw the way the chains cut into his skin and a tingle of phantom pain went through her own body. What a poor creature, to live a life of such torment. Slightly hesitant, she forced herself from the wall. SHe didn't know if she should go and try to help him. She knew she could master any lock she found. She was after all good at that. That's how she got out of the compound. It pushed away her self pity anyways, and she was thankful for it. Standing finally from her vantage point, she stepped soundly to him, trying to keep her breathing from pacing too quickly. Moving slowly closer, she gave her purpose second though. Her feet stopped her, and she stood about three feet away, looking haggard and thin. Was it the right thing to do? she didn't know, but it was worth a try, her subconcious told her. Bending slowly, she looked closer at the restraints around his hands. She couldn't see a lock just yet, but she would look once he let her. WIth a degree more of hesitation, she reached out and touched his upper arm. SHe hoped he would not strangle her, but if he did, at leaste she would not go back to that fucked up, rat testing, torturous lab.

The dreams had continued, and then there was something touching his arm. His eyes shot open and he drew back from the touch. He looked up to her and seemed confused for a second, glancing around like he was lost. Then a smile came to his lips and he relaxed, slowly looking back to her as he got up into a sitting position.

He didn't understand the expression on her face though. He had not seen that look since he had fallen into the sewers and those other two had found him. That was not that long ago, not more than a day or so at best. Still this girl had that same look in her eyes. "What?" the word was stretched out a bit, in his deep gutteral voice.

Sonia gasped and pulled back a little as well, she didn't know what to expect but she kept her gaurd close at hand. She relaxed a little herself as he repositioned himself and the smile was even more of a question. From the look of him now, even with the blood and chains he didn't look mean or dangerous, she should have thought that Drake and Isabel wouldn't let that kind of person in their midst. It took her a moment to gain her composure but she finaly found herself and rocked back on her feet into a crouching position, her knees to her chest. She caught his own expression, realizing the look she probably had on her own face, that questioning look of unsurity.

"Oh..I-I'm sorry." She stammered. "I was just concerned with your bleeding. Those chains look really uncomfortable..." She paused a moment. "I could get them off If you would let me." Reaching out, she meant to take his arm and look at the lock. SHe didn't know how he would feel about it really. Mayhap he could have already had them off. She rethought her movement at the last moment and dropped her hands back to her knees., where she wrung them together for a moment.

"I can get through any lock, But that's if you want them off." Reaching back, she pulled her lock kit from her back pocket. She had taken that when she broke out, she had managed to get all her personal items luckily, or she may not have made it this far. Setting it to the floor before her she unrolled the leather exposing the neat little slots and each of the seperate tools in it. The quietness was a little unsettling, so as she looked over her tools, she spoke a little to break the silence.

"How did you come to be here?" She asked with unshown intrest.

He watched her carefully. A bit perplexed by her actions. Then she offered to undo a lock. A shy smile came to his lips and he raised both arms to show that it was a single chain that had been spiked. Both ends of the chain were dangling from his elbows from under the rest of the chain. Apparently the chain had been secured at both ends at one point to something and wrapped by itself to self-secure it around his arms while it also ran once across his back to show that it was indeed one chain. But there were no locks.

Then her last question caused him to tilt his head. Slowly he pointed up with one hand and then down to the floor, "Fell." he answered her question. But he was thinking of why he still had the chains on, once the others had tried to remove them but he had simply resecured the chains. His eyes moved to his arms and he carefully looked them over. His brow furrowed as he thought, and could not depict why he kept him.

OOC: Sorry it took me so long to get this up. Life is hectic As I assume you all know VEry well. Lol But here it is, belated, but still here.

Sonia didn't see the smile that touched his face, as she was looking through her instruments to be sure none were bent improperly, or broken. Luckily none were, so with a tad of glee, she looked up. The chains and spike came into focus easily, but no lock. There was no lock there at all. A blush came to her cheeks as she realized how stupid she must look, but smiled as her only defense. Reaching out, instead, she looked at the spike, testing it's resistence, and seeing that there wasn't much. He could have taken them off at any time, but he hadn't...It was her turn to be perplexed. She wondered if he would let her take them off, or if he would protest. She was a bit afraid of trying. Throughout her pidly existance she had been the blunt of many fits of rage, for stupid things, that were miniscule and really quite pointless. Letting her hand fall away, her eyes caught the motion of his hand, as it first went in an upward motion, then down. She understood well, even without his minute explanation. That of course, brought another curiosity. How well could he speak? And even more so, if he could, why did he choose to be so quiet? She pushed it all away though, watching the tracing fingers of thought move over his facial features.

"Can I help you take them off?" Sonia asked gently. There was no reason to push the subject, but she may as well offer her help. He seemed to be lost, even more so than her. It was kind of scary in fact, to see someone in a deeper pit than yourself. She wondered what demons followed him. But she could not read minds and didn't know. The silence was a bit unnerving, but she didn't know what to say. Racking her brain, she found little, but finaly mustered up something. Her eyes kept returning the the places where the chains bit into his skin. She felt horrible for him, but wondered at the same time why he continued to accept his curel and unusual punishment.

"Where did you come from?" Was her next question. She did not mean to sound prying, but it helped to pass the time. Until what though? She thought to herself. Pass the time until they find her? Yeah, that was it. just the thought made her cringe. A slice of anger flew across her face that she knew not of. She hadn't been given many options, but she had been lucky, Lucky to find this place, even though she was cause for great concern for Drake. Isabel, seemedto have a sense of things. That was another curiosity to her mind, but it would be saved for later, at a time when it could be discussed more freely. Sonia returned her gaze to the being before her, the expressions on her face giving away her thought.
