Forgotten: No one can escape. A great flash emerged above all of Aronia leaving each with short term memory loss. Years lost to the fog of amnesia. Can no one recall? That appears to be the case. Whom or what is responsible? Panic has stricken the globe. Will civilization collapse? What will emerge from the reset? Only time will tell. To each citizen of Aronia from the Global Gazette, we wish all luck.
Welcome to Aronia. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Drake growled slightly as the woman fell, and shook his head.

"Bah... what else can happen in one day..."

All the shit with that slaving bastard, and two strays all in one day? Things are getting very crowded around here and I do not like it... He didn't draw his knife though, but he did step between Isabel and the newcomer protectively, his lavender eyes cutting the darkness.

"She's right. If you came down here you obviously don't want to be found and since I don't want to be found either, I suggest you shut your damned mouth."

Drake narrowed his eyes slightly, and waited, hoping the person wasn't going to flip again... no good at all...

Thane jumped at the sound of the scream. A deep gutteral growl rolled past his lips, something that was more likely to come from a rabid dog. Then he realised they were trying to keep quiet, as if it hadn't been obvious, and the growl dies down as quickly as it had came forth. He could hear the anoyance in Drake's voice, causing him to flinch and draw back from his general direction. He looked to where the girl should be, but it was oddly quiet over there now, "Take her back to surface?" the low gritty voice asked.

Sonia, cowled against the wall in fright at the voices that assulted her. They easily admited that they, like her did not want to be found. That was the last thing she wanted either and she muttered something.

"Sho', taint a prahblm. Her boston accent was thick, but she didn't believe folks around her would know the difference. "Don't mind if I smoke..." She fumbled in her purse, unseeingly anf pulled a pack of Salmes from it's depths. She had smoked enough of them so her lighter fit into the pack. She pushed down the catch and a flame burst forward bright and wonderful. She chuckled and pulled a ciggarette from the pack and lit it, inhaling deeply. The smell and taste of the menthol burnt her throat, but it felt so good. SHe had smoked during her whole career as a stripper, well, exotic dancer they called her, which had been for a good eight years. Here she was though in a cave with a bunch of crazies, waiting for the daylight to come. She sat in the silence they had calld for and listened to the sounds of their breath. A thought occured to her and she smiled to herself.

Spinning sideways, she lit the lighter again, and held it above her head so she could get a look at the group. They probably wouldn't like it, but if they were to be her new buddies, then it was time for introductions.

"The name is sonia." Her voice was hushed, as to not disturb them too much. "Where we Aht? I woke up in some kinda concentration camp... din' like dat too much." SHe smiled prettily and admired each in the poor lighting, they were an odd bunch.

The woman's body relaxed and she slowly moved her tendrils from her lips so she could speak. Her accent played with Isabel's ears and she tilted her head to the side. "Smoke? Uhm..."

She was about to say she rathered keep the aqueducts clean, but it was too late - a small fire flickered and a second later, she heard the woman inhale and then exhale, sending tendrils of smoke flitting from her mouth. Even halfway across the room, she could smell the smoke. Wrinkling her nose, she coughed lightly. That was the one part about hanging out in taverns that Isabel couldn't stand - the smell of cigarette smoke and bad alcohol... not to mention half the patrons' B.O.

Another small flicker of light made Isabel squint. Closing her eyes, she let her mind explore the woman's physical features, searching for any weapons on her slim frame. She could feel the woman's eyes boring into her flesh... and then she was looking at someone else. Letting out a small breath, she murmured quietly and walked farther from the woman to where a lantern and the box of matches were. Striking one match against the side of the box, it flared to life, hungrily beginning to burn the stick.

She put the fiery edge of the match to the lantern and then shook the match out. Flicking the used match into the small, damp cup where they stored them, she took the lantern and used it to light a few more candles around the room. The room was much brighter now and she could see the woman finally for first time with her eyes. Setting the lantern down in its original place, Isabel moved to Drake's side again.

"Sonia? Well, we're all at home... and you're in our home. Concentration camp?..." Her eyes wandered up to Drake, questioning him. He always seemed to know things that Isabel didn't, so perhaps he knew what a concentration camp was. Despite its name, she figured it wasn't a camp where people concentrated their time on, well, concentrating.
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.
Kaylee: He looks kinda mean.
Wash: That's sorta what I meant.
Simon: This must be what going mad feels like.

"I should think the only one of us here that's been to one of them is you. You have the look."

He scowled, and walked over, snatched the cigarette, and tossed it in the water where it fizzled and washed away.

"Actually, I do mind. What do you think happens when someone discovers that there is smoke coming from the pipes, huh? They send someone down to look. And we get found. So yes. Risk your neck outside killing yourself with those, but don't put the rest of us at risk."

Drake gave her a disgusted look, then walked back over next to Isabel and leaned against the wall. Disgusting habit, and deadly eventually, so he had learned.

"And you have no permission to be here, so what makes you think you even have the right, hm? This is our home. And that don't include you unless I conjure it does."

Thane withdrew from the sudden light, his eyes reflecting the light from the light. When the lamp was lit and finally a brighter source of light his eyes seemed to return to normal, except they had a slightly yellow tint to them now. He sniffed then withdrew from the woman again, the smell of the cigarette assaulted his nose, this in turn caused him to fall into the water.
The loud splash echoed down the empty tunnels and Thane was quickly back out of the water, but on all fours. He shook himself furiously, sending water droplet flying from his clothing and causing the chains bound around him to make a good deal of noise. Finally he stood up and looked around again, his hair now drooping over his face. He looked to the woman, her cigarette gone, apparently his brief fall caused him to miss something. Drake looked rather irritated. So did Isabel for that matter.
He looked to the new arrival again and tilted his head. She was curious looking, not like him or the other two. Well, except for the vague similarites to Isabel because they were both females. He sat down and decided to watch the events unfold while he dried.

Sonia's mouth tightened into a large 'O' of protest at her cigarettes ill-mannered death. She huffed and leaned against the wall only to be drawn forward at The young mans fitful words. She was not here because she chose to be. They did in fact have a good little hiding place here and she respected that. Further understanging her cigarettes detest, she nodded, but looked rather ruefuly toward him again.

"If ya want me gone, I'll go, short and sweet Sugah' But by the way you all are lookin down here? Your bound to get found. The cat alway's catches the mouse that returns to the same hole every time." She glanced at the girl. She was young, pretty and had an odd aura about her. Sonia's Aunt had taught her aout Auras and how you could tell alot about someone by the way they made you feel. The girl reminded her of her fortune telling aunt, but she was more wild. The spash made her jump, and she almost helped the man, but decided she didn't want to interfere with a being that seemed tied in dog chains. She wondered what kind of people they were, each differne in their own way. It was odd, but for some reason, she felt a little normal, wether he blew off steam at her or not. It was something she had learned to deal with, she was after all very tolerant to insults. She guessed that was what eight years of dancing would do to you.

Isabel winced at how cruelly Drake handled the situation of the woman and her smoking. She'd never seen him quite so quick to violence unless one of them was at risk. She supposed all of them could be at risk with the smoke flowing out of the tunnels, but then, she didn't really think the smoke could reach quite far enough to the surface. Rather be safe than sorry, though. Not to mention, cigarettes had an awful stench to them that always tickled her throat in a bad way.

A splash made her avert her eyes to where Thane had been standing a few moments ago. A small smirk crept onto her lips as she watched him crawl out of the water which he was now shaking off of his body. The way he was right now reminded her of a large dog, the way they shook their bodies off after emerging from water, too.

Turning back to face the woman, she noticed her staring at her. Her cheeks began to redden slightly and she dropped her gaze to the floor. She hated it when people watched her. She could always feel their eyes, searching her body as if trying to look through her flesh, into her heart and soul. Sonia's emotions were not the normal ones Isabel sensed coming from people who were watching her. She seemed interested in Isabel, not in a sexual way, nor was she angry at her.

She wasn't sure whether she rathered people be angry and lustful at her, or intrigued and curious enough to find out all the dark secrets Isabel kept hidden inside herself from everyone but Drake.

"We're here because we have to be, that's all the story I can give you. Have to have some kind of life down here..."

He gave Isabel's hand a gentle squeeze, and looked back over at the other woman, frowning slightly. As a rule he didnt like people, didn't trust them a tenth of the distance he could throw them (since he HAD thrown a few a decent distance actually). And here he was, with two complete outsiders right in the middle of his and isabel's home? She was less upset than he was about it, he was sure, but...

"Iz, what's your call. I'm not kicking anyone out unilaterally..."

ooc: sorry so short, guys

Oh no... Drake was asking her for her opinion on whether people could stay or not. Well, Thane had proved himself worthy thus far, so her opinion on him was solid. Not to mention their similar background gave her a connection to the wolfman. Sending him a quick smile, she opened her mouth, her quiet voice echoing through the room softly. "Thane, you're more than welcome to stay with us if you'd like. If not, then all the best luck to you. Our home is your home if you ever need it."

She nodded politely to him before averting her attention to the woman. What was she supposed to say? She couldn't be mean and ban the woman from entering their territory because that was mean - but at the same time, she didn't even KNOW the woman. For all she knew, the woman could be a spy for the town guard. Furrowing her brows, she frowned, studying the woman.

The tendrils of her mind wandered forward, twining around the woman, in search of weapons or anything Isabel should be wary of. While she could feel the woman physically with her mind, she knew that the woman would feel nothing so long as she willed it to be so. Moving her mind's tendrils up, she wrapped them around the woman's head, piercing her flesh with a few so that she could wander her brain. She wasn't a spy. Good. Isabel didn't need her mental abilities to see that the woman hadn't been lying, but she always had to be certain. Some people were quite good at lying physically.

Closing her eyes, Isabel sucked in a quiet breath, retracting her tentacles from the woman's person. When she opened her eyes again, she let that breath out and gave the woman another looking over. Finally, she opened her mouth, letting the words spill out of her mouth.

"She's okay, Drake. Nothing to fear - just scared like us... only she's lonely, too, and lost." Moving her attention to her best friend, she smiled slightly, sadness evident in her eyes. "Let her stay at least tonight so we can hear a full story and perhaps fill her in on details that she deserves to know. Nothing too personal, of course," she said with a quiet chuckle. "Unless you want to fill her in on all of your dark, dirty little secrets." As she said this, she brought her hands up, wiggling her fingers at him and making a funny face which involved her tongue sticking out of her mouth a bit and her nose being wrinkled.

A small laugh left her throat then as she imagined how she must have looked, though it seemed to her, that it was just a bit forced. Mentally, she had a stony expression. It would be hard to laugh again and mean it now that she was a cold-blooded killer. For a few moments, she had understood what it was like to be a predator as she lashed out at her prey, attacking them viciously and loving every moment of it. How could she have done it? She was a sweet girl. Sweet, loving, carefree Isabel. Dangerous, violent, killer Isabel.

She closed her mouth and returned her physical facial expression to one of tense relaxation. "So, shall we start again? My name is Isabel, and these are my friends Drake, " she motioned to the man beside her and then over to the one on all fours, "and Thane."
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.
Kaylee: He looks kinda mean.
Wash: That's sorta what I meant.
Simon: This must be what going mad feels like.
Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me...
