Forgotten: No one can escape. A great flash emerged above all of Aronia leaving each with short term memory loss. Years lost to the fog of amnesia. Can no one recall? That appears to be the case. Whom or what is responsible? Panic has stricken the globe. Will civilization collapse? What will emerge from the reset? Only time will tell. To each citizen of Aronia from the Global Gazette, we wish all luck.
Welcome to Aronia. We hope you enjoy your visit.

He smiled and waited, leaning against one of the walls in a small space where he didn't think he would knock anything off. As he waited though, he felt something pass, and frowned as a wolf ran off. That look on her face... she's good... if I hadn't caught a sliver of that, I never would have noticed... He didn't say anything, though. It was odd... he had never had his power so active. Perhaps it was being here, in the presence of so much magic, and other telepaths. Since TK was the only power he ever made use of before, it was the only one that had grown. What else might he be capable of that he and his people had never thought of..?

"I see... guess some parts of the stories really were just that. But the link does sound handy."

Alain laughed with her, then looked towards the door where the wolf had gone. He wondered at the purpose of it's leaving for a moment, then looked back to her, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm curious to see what this theory of yours is that you'd like to test on me. Though I guess I'm a little out of the ordinary as far as humans go..."

"It's not a theory of science, which I'm sure you're familiar with, as I don't believe that armor of yours is magical. My theory, is based on a feeling inside me - an instinct, if you will." Standing, she turned from the chair area and made her way over to the counter. From under the counter, she produced a long, thin bundle, wrapped tightly in a thick, cream cloth, which was secured by three leather belts.

The bundle seemed to be buzzing very, very quietly as she returned to the sitting area, but the sound was too muffled to tell what it really was.

"You ready?" she asked with a small chuckle, her hands moving to two of the leather straps. "I'm warning you, this could shock you.. or rather, it could shock your mind." A soft, almost curious smile was on her face, but her tone made the fact perfectly clear that she was not, under any circumstances, joking.
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.
Kaylee: He looks kinda mean.
Wash: That's sorta what I meant.
Simon: This must be what going mad feels like.
Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me...

He raised an eyebrow, and then he nodded.

"It doesn't really... though I suppose you might consider electricity a form of magic. After all, that antimagic field Gwen created knocked my power supply offline just like it knocked out your magic... though..."

He touched the chest of his jumpsuit, inside which that lock of hair was hidden in the inside pocket, with a few other things.

"Somehow it all came back online..."

Alain frowned a little at the thing, and watched her bring it back out, though he shrugged a little bit as she told him about the possible effect.

"Well... heck, I've had my arm torn off before, I think I can take it."

He took a deep breath, then laughed a little.

"So heck, yeah, I'm ready when you are."

The leather straps took a bit of tugging to get unlatched, but they were no match for Sabre. Dropping them to the ground, she felt along the side of the bundle as if trying to figure out which end was which. Satisfied when her hands reached the left side, she gripped it there with one hand as one would grip a sword. Her right hand pulled the cream cloth away from the right end, revealing the tip of a recently polished and sanded sword.

Pulling more of the cloth away, she pressed her right arm down on the blade now, keeping it so the flat of the blade was tight against her leg. She pulled the rest of the cloth off and quickly grabbed the pommel with her left hand. Moving her right hand into position beneath her left, she held it pointed out at a 45 degree angle for Alain to see.

"Her name is Suchara. She's a fiery little bitch. She'll obey me well enough, but she can be quite stubborn and has a hot temper. I advise you to be very, very careful with her. " She didn't know if Alain had ever dealt with swords... sentient ones at that!... so she walked slowly over to him and handed Suchara to him, pommel first. "She's never been in anyone's hands but mine and my uncle's, so be nice to her. And please, please, please watch your brain. She likes to explore and feed off of anger, hate, sadness... negative thoughts. If in the right hands, I think she's got the potential to be a great sword."

Sabre smiled grimly, her mind tracking Suchara's instinctively, just in case.

"You talk about it like it's.... wait..."

He looked at her, then the sword being offered to him, and frowned a little bit. She's saying the sword has its own thoughts...? but that's impossible, even our AIs arent small enough, and no way they have half our - unless... it has a soul? Alain shook his head a little, and reached out tenatively, his hand stopping an inch from the pommel, shaking slightly. Why does this worry me so...? Gods i can feel it.... I can feel a freaking sword! It's mind was nothing like anything he'd felt. He couldnt read it, or anything, but he could tell it was there... there and waiting...

"Okay. Wont be the starngest thing that's happened to me lately."

With that, he grabbed the blade, and his mind was quiet. He frowned, and held it up to the light for a moment, watching how the light that glinted off the blade shone like light through a prism, the color constantly changing...

"A beautiful blade... I've never handled one except for the VH-76 I use with my armor, and I could never lift that thing with my bare han- AAAAAGH!"

The whole length of the sword, from the blade to the black and silver inlaid pommel, shone with a brilliant light. He held the sword out at arms length, but he couldn't let it go, his hand wouldn't let him. Something was trying to force it's way in his head, almost like before, but violently, harshly, and it only got worse as he fought harder against it. The glow started to spread slowly up his arm, almost like his skin had shattered, spiderweb patterns of shining light consumed his hand, and worked its way up his arm. Just as he felt his control slip, his mind open, he shut his eyes against the light and scremed in his head, lashing out with all his will.

-BACK OFF!-

His hand snapped open, and the blade clattered to the floor, its glow vanishing, and Alain fell to his knees, clutching at his arm, gritting his teeth against the pain. He looked up and opened his eyes, looking almost helplessly at Sabre. When he tried to speak, though, he stopped at a voice in his head.

What the hell'd you have to go and drop me for!?

Alain stopped, mouth agape, and looked back at the sword on the ground.

That... you...?

A shimmer ran along its length and he thought he felt something like a sigh.

As smart as you are you don't catch on too quickly do you? I was testing you, alright?

Alain shook his head, and reached for the sword, slowly, the light fading back towards his fingers before it vanished altogether, and he put his fingers around the pommel, still looking at the sword in disbelief. Then he looked back up at Sabre, shaking his head.

"I think... I just met suchara.."

Brilliant, sherlock. Thats what you call him, right?

Suchara?

Yes, Alain?

Is it possible for you to shut up while I get my shit straight?

Oh, thanks.

Not my fault you didnt even say 'hi' before you attacked.

Like I said. TEST

Just.... Quiet.

Fine.

One thin brow raised as she watched Alain's reactions to the sword. They were confident as she first unveiled what it was, but after her warning, he seemed a bit more leery.

"Ah..." So he had handled a blade before. Nothing like Suchara, she guessed, but still. At least he had SOME experience. She was beginning to think perhaps he wasn't the one, as Suchara was still just humming to herself. Then she hit him. Sabre winced slightly, as she felt the impact on Alain from the swords mind to his.

Althea sighed. She'd thought Sabre would never touch that damned Suchara again. She knew that sword was a seductress when it came to her Virote. Thankfully, though, Sabre didn't hold onto the damnable weapon for too long. Virote's eyes never left Suchara - such a long, sleek blade. Her pommel was beautiful... but not as beautiful as his Althea's.

~Curse you, Suchara!~ Althea scowled. Sabre agreed with her sword mentally. She knew everyone else around her could sense her feelings, including Alain, so she didn't feel the need to voice them. Virote chuckled quietly; it sounded more like a fire crackling and popping, though. Althea sent him a bit of a shock, like lightning, and he stopped immediately, his feelings back down to a gentle flame, rubbing affectionately on Althea.

"Sorry about that, Alain..." Sabre mumbled. "I told you she's a fiesty little bitch."

~Gods, Sabre. Why must you insult me like that? Especially in front of my new friend...~ Suchara pouted. Sabre and Althea scowled. Virote chuckled. Again, a lightning flash and then back to the gentle flame. Althea had Virote wrapped around her small fi... err... pommel, so Sabre needn't worry about him.

"So, what do you think of her? She certainly seems to like you." Sabre grinned and looked down at Suchara with a slight shake of her head. "She never liked being around me because she knows she can't have Virote here." At that, Sabre patted the sword at her right hip, who was smart enough this time to continue rubbing gently against his lifemate, Althea. "Mainly because of my docile, little Althea," Sabre chuckled, now patting the sword at her left hip.

~It's very nice to meet you, Sir. What is your name again?~ Althea was reaching out to Alain. Her mind was a bit staticky, but very gentle and easy to understand and get used to. Virote's was much more gruff, much like a blacksmith's who'd been living near a fire-filled forge his whole life.

~Sabre said his name was Alain. Don't you listen...dear?"

Sabre smirked over at Alain. "Quite the couple, eh?" She rolled her eyes before crossing her legs and waiting for Alain's reaction to the three new people he'd met in the past two minutes' time.

~I felt that.~ both swords chimed in simultaneously and Sabre sighed dramatically.

"See what I have to put up with?"

OOC: Note... All of the descriptions of the swords' actions are in your head, as they can't *actually* get up and talk and such. It's all a mental thing. ^_^
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.

"I think I'm starting to get a vague idea..."

He stood, and lifted the blade again. It felt... different. Lighter than before, which was odd. He felt more comfortable holding it - her - than he had before, certainly. Was odd hearing them fight like this... the blades werent actually moving, or were they? he got the impression that the two Sabre carried were touching, yet they were still separate... suchara chimed in, suddenly, just to him.

Coping?

I guess... this isn't exactly like the link on my suit, I guess I'll get used to it... You like virote, hm?

I'd rather not talk about that.

I imagine you wouldn't. Still, you never told me... why me?

Sabre's been trying to foist me off on someone ever since I started chasing Virote. You're just the only one I liked.

Should I take that as a compliment?

Yes.

He finally smiled, and relaxed a little bit, sitting down again and laying Suchara's blade across his lap, running a hand over the smooth iridescant metal gently. He had to admit... he had an odd affection for the blade, all of a sudden. She noticed, of course, and seemed to smile, though he couldnt see it physically, it was... weird. Finally he smiled too, and looked back up at Sabre - rather, the three beings across from him.

-It's nice to meet you too, Althea, Virote. Forgive me if I'm not too good at this... never talked to anyone or anything mentally until recently, it's sort of new...-

After that, he focused on Sabre, trying to talk to her and only her.

-This is even weirder... Talking to Suchara isnt like talking to you or the other two, it's like she's inside me... is that normal?-

Suchara chimed in again, over that whispered link.

I can still hear you, you know.

Alain shook his head.

See?

She sighed as Suchara cut off Sabre's mind from the conversation she and Alain were now having. She could tell they were talking, of course, because Alain's eyes were fixed on her blade.

~Anything of importance I should know, Suchara? You're not putting ideas into his mind, are you?~ Her voice held a hint of sarcasm, but her face was plain as day - any dirty tricks and I will send you on a one way trip to the forge.

"Don't worry, dear. It's perfectly normal," she said to Alain with a smile. "When I first became attached to Althea and Virote, my mind was still quite young, pure and naiive. I had problems communicating verbally with people and would end up just sitting there staring. In my mind, I was babbling away, of course. Over the years, I've learned to distinguish when I'm talking aloud or mentally."

She couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. Watching Alain attempt to differentiate between the two ways of talking was quite amusing. She imagined that she herself had been much like this, as well, except for the fact that she had not had someone to help her as she was helping Alain. Virote and Althea had been her only help, and she guessed they'd done a good job.

~Good job? Pah! We're excellent teachers!~ Althea whined.

~Riiiight... By the way, Alain... I'm sure you've already noticed, but Suchara can hear you when you speak aloud. Virote and Althea can, too. So if you'd like, we can let them speak mentally so that you can remember to speak aloud.~

"It's good practice."
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.
Kaylee: He looks kinda mean.
Wash: That's sorta what I meant.
Simon: This must be what going mad feels like.
Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me...

I am not. You always make me out to be some sort of devil lady, it's very upsetting.

Alain shook his head a little.

"That's not quite what I meant... I can tell the difference well enough. I just mean... less like her and I are talking with our minds, like I was talking to you, and more like we have the same mind... I'm not sure if that makes any sort of sense..."

Well, I'm yours and you're mine, there's a part of us resides in the other. Simple enough.

"For you maybe, Suchara..."

He shook his head again, and sat back, before holding the sword up and slicing the air with it, lightly but swiftly, listening to the sound it made as it cut through the air.

"Odd how comfortable this feels now..."

He stood, and held the sword out at arms length, trying a few things out, carefully. Suchara scoffed.

Wow. Keep this up and you might cut yourself by tomorrow.

Hey, I'm still indoors, remember?

Then maybe we should go out. I'm a weapon not an ornament, and you are GOING to learn.

I already -

Not like me.

Granted...

Alain looked over at sabre, and lowered suchara.

"She's right, isnt she.... this isnt like the mindless weapons Ive used..."

The armor's eyes changed colors then went dull. The gaurds had traced back the magic to the cell yet were baffled when they saw the man simply standing there. Eyes closed, arms dangling at his side, much like the golem when it wasn't doing anything. Still the armor rang out, now a beacon of magic and psyci spread over the city. It wasn't powerful enough to be brought to the attention of amateur mages but the masters of the magi at the tower would definently notice, as would any psycic within the city limits unless they were somehow barred.

OOC:Thinking of creating another character but I am out of ideas.
