He shook his head, then laughed a little and nodded. "Been relying on those a lot more than my eyes lately... like I said if I didnt sense that all this was real I would have assumed long ago that this was some kind of illusion, that I had been captured and drugged... it's happened before." Alain listened to her, and closed the panel again and said a few numbers. The suit cracked open again, he stuffed the bag inside, then closed it and turned back to her, drawing his coat aside slightly and patting his sidearm. "I'm not entirely helpless without it, or even without this. That's where being H. sapiens parabellum comes in handy... er, sorry, that probably doesnt make sense... Homo sapiens is the human species, parabellum is an addative given to those with a slight evolutionary advantage, like my mind." He tossed the photo card off to the side, it stopped and came back like a boomerang. He caught it and pocketed it, then motioned for her to lead the way. "Still dont know where E4 is, so try not to lose me. I'd like some tea, though. What's your business?" ooc: *raises an eyebrow* You worry me. Still, I'm always up for something to make the rp interesting, go ahead and try to do something. Not saying Alain wont fight whatever it is, lol |

OOC: Oh its nothing that would be too imposing. IC: The armor's gemmed eyes surged with that aqua-marine power. Reaching out for something capable of receiving the request. It took much searching, so few within the area, it found one. The man that had been in the strange armor. The connection was made, although difficult it was for the weaving of magical energy to mental is not an easy thing to do though the likeness they share. Still the voices, yes a chorus of them, ranging from a child to an elder and from sheer pain to joy, they asked, ~My strength is yours, what would you ask of me~ |

"E4. It's right next to the city entrance. You had to have passed my shop when you entered the city," she chuckled as the pair began to walk. "It's only a few minutes' walk from here." Motioning to the trio of wolves, she sent one pair jogging ahead of them to the great hall, back to their posts. The third wolf stayed with them, trailing a few feet behind her obediently. He would escort them back to her shop, as was expected, and then return to the barracks. "My business is the world, it's people, places, things... I study languages; I search for artifacts and then research them... It's usually a nice, quiet life. There are the occasional burglars, of course, but none of them stay very long." After a slight pause, she spoke up again. "So, how is Terra?" she asked once they reached the entrance to the castle and were descending the large steps. "What's it like geographically, I mean? I can't imagine it being much more beautiful than Ombra di Notta, but then I've seen nothing else here in this world that wasn't infected with plague, famine or war... even in the times of peace." Her walk was quick, but graceful and full of purpose. Her posture she had worked on for years to get it so that she always seemed upright and dignified. Brushing a loose strand of her bright white locks from her face, she smiled over at Alain, waiting for his response. |

He walked with her, noting the wolf behind them - but then, that wolf wasnt there to watch him, at least he didnt believe so. Sabre seemed to trust him well enough, and he was willing to trust her in return. Naiive, maybe... but he handt felt anything bad from her when he had touched her skin, and he had always been able to tell through touch... Alain nodded a little bit, and smiled. "Sounds like an interesting line of work... something akin to what I would have liked to do, had there not been the war." He thought for a moment about Terra, then tried his best. "Well... you saw the picture of the dome. Most of the part of the world where my people live is like that. It's an entire world, you know... hard to describe evrything... it's not altogether too different from here, I guess... The places are different, of course, and the continents are different, but we have blue skies, and oceans, and forests... mountains that seem to scrape the sky itself, brilliant sunsets..." He shrugged, then pulled the photocard from his pocket, and clicked it a few times, until it showed a landscape photograph. It was an almost endless looking forest, with a pure river flowing through it, and the sun was just setting, casting red fire across the sky. He smiled a little. "This is from on top of the dome... like I said, all our cities are underground now to keep the land like this. Of course, this is only our part of the world... we inhabit three of the continents, two of the main ones and the one at the south pole." He clicked a few more times and showed her a picture of the arctic - brilliant and white, massive, towering glaciers and shimmering spires of ice. "This is a picture of part of the north polar region, actually... but Antarctica, at the south, looks about the same. We have underwater cities at each, the one where I am based is called Atlantis. I'd show you a picture, but I don't have any from the outside... it doesnt look too interesting from the inside, except in the outer dome, but I don't have any pictures of those. I have one of Avalon, though. Thats the floating city that is my division's main base." He showed her another of a titanic city floating on the water, it had hundreds of bildings sticking out like spires, and since the picture was from the air, the starlike structure could be seen as well - eight piers sticking out from the central region. "Took ten years to build Atlantis, and a good five or so to build each of our three floating cities, plus Atlantis' sister city at the south, another ten years... but they're our pride and joy now, all we have to compete with the marvels of nature we try to protect... of course, the other four continents... well those belong to the splicers. Our enemies... they have less respect than we do. Looks like the war and plague torn areas you spoke of... sorry I'm talking too much, aren't I?" Alain laughed a little, and pointed to the house they were nearing. "That your - AAAH!" He pressed a hand to his head as someone - something - was trying to press it's way in. He heard it, but didnt understand what it meant, everything was suddenly trying to force inside of him... it felt wrong, terribly terribly wrong... "No get OUT!" Alain shut his eyes tightly and forced the thing out of his head with his own power, then collapsed against a wall nearby, panting heavily, and looking up at sabre apologetically. "Something... trying to get in my head..." |

She listened patiently as Alain rambled on. He was obviously very much in love with his home. She pitied the fact that he was stuck here in her world, but she knew that it was meant to be. 'You can't avoid fate, after all,' she thought to herself. Alain cringed and screamed mid-sentence as they were almost to her house. Quickly, she moved to help him, her hands going immediately to the hilt of her left sword. The wolf behind them growled low and looked around the area. Sabre's eyes scanned the area as well, but neither saw anything out of the ordinary - the normal dwindling crowd in the streets, trying to buy things before the shopkeepers closed up shop for the night, the bums begging for money, the bards playing for coin... 'Hmm...' she thought, scanning the area one last time. Removing her hand from the hilt of her sword, she held it down to Alain to help him up. "Come. We're almost to my house, where you'll be safe. Magic is not allowed here in Ombra di Notta, unless it is of a defensive nature. If someone has tried to attack you mentally, you can bet they'll be found and jailed. For now, I can at least keep your mind protected..." Hurrying him to a house on the corner, she bade him enter quickly. Once all three of them were in, she locked the door and, brushing past the other three wolves inside the house and Michi, raced into a back room door, which shut rather loudly. The lock could be heard making a clicking noise. It was only a few seconds later that she emerged, with a look of relief on her face. "You'll be safe for now. The spell will only last for a few hours, so I suggest you prepare your mind if it's at all possible. I honestly don't know, for I've only ever spoken telepathically to my panther friend and the wolves of the city." She gestured towards the wereguards standing idly near the windows and doors, along with the one standing beside a young boy behind the counter. "So... Tea... Oh! Please, pull up a chair and make yourself at home." She did not put the offer out to the wolves, of course, as she knew they were not allowed. |

The one bid him leave. So he would, but not so easily convenient, ~My offer stands until another takes it.~ the voices mentioned before the connection broke. Shifted was more the terms, his target had moved. The eyes upon the armor shifted, now to a pale red as they forced a gentle link with the fiendish drow that the man from the future was with, again the voices of vast arrangement rang out this time in the woman's head, ~My strength is yours, what would you ask of me~ this time an image sent. A picture of him in his cell as he currently was, slouched over like a puppet set aside for later use. The priestess and queen seemed to be the next two likely candidates. |

He nodded gratefully, and got up, then walked with her to the house, where he sat and waited for her to come back. "I... sorry about that... I don't even know what it was, it's just... nothing's ever come into my head like that. I always sense things, they don't... come at me of their own force..." It could be because he was one of maybe three people in his world with enough psionic ability to transmit or recieve such messages... while he waited for her, he felt it again, despite what she had just said about blocking attack. Then it wasn't an attack...? Then what the hell is that... oh shit. It can't be that damned thing that was trying to kill Sabre and Victoria before? Alain smiled at her as she came in. "Thanks. I think I'll be okay... I just wish I knew what it was... I've never spoken telepathically, actually. there really arent many that have anything but low level telepathy, thats why the suits have devices to strengthen it... when someone with true telepathy uses one..." He shrugged a little bit, sheepishly "I actually keep it on low power so i dont overdo it... And tea sounds great, I would like some very much." Alain looked around at the wolves standing - standing! - around, then stood and followed Sabre, a few paces behind as she went to get tea. "So... were those wolves once men? Werewolves, right? And why are they always... they're servants?" So much to understand... he was an inquisitive sort, now that he could finally ask questions... |

As she was digging around behind the counter for her teapot and two cups, she felt something brushing against her mind. But it wasn't very gentle. It was rough and coarse and seemed almost mechanic. Closing her eyes tightly, she ducked down behind the counter so that none could see her predicament. ~Who are you?!~ she called out to the unseen voices with her mind. She scowled silently, realizing that the spell had not been cast properly. One wrong translation had ruined the entire spell. Swearing quietly, she put on a smile and pulled the tea pot and cups out onto the counter. "Suppose I should go and get the tea..." she chuckled. Turning to leave the room again for a moment, she shot one of the wolves a worried glance once her back was to everyone else in the room. She didn't want anyone but the wolves to know what was going on inside her mind. ~Find it,~ she told the wereguard. He left without a word or gesture towards the woman who'd given him the order. Snatching the tea up from the table in back, she quickly returned to Alain and the others and put the pot onto a bunsen burner. She snapped and it turned on, the fire quickly beginning to boil the water in the pot. "So. Well, no. We can test my theory after tea." Smiling, she took a seat in one of the three rocking chairs in the book corner of the room. "Servants, yes. Slaves, no. They serve the queen, but over the years, as I became closer to her majesty, the wolves have learned to trust, protect and obey me as well. Not to mention, I've got this nifty link with them." She winked and laughed lightly as they waited for the water to boil. |

The avatar sent the image, itself looming overtop of her as it was during the fight. ~I await commands~ it stated. These two seemed hopeless. In search of a new purpose, the magic that held it to original command had been destroyed by that anti-magic field. Still it did not move from it's cell. The barrier she had made was to block such attacks, this was no attack, a message with images was all. Still, if she would not take command it must search again. The priestess and the queen were the only two left. The only other two that were there worth controling it that were there when it re-awakened. It reached out trying to make contact with one but one could not be found, the other was unconcious it would seem and in that state messages could make unwanted connections into a reality contained in her mind. Though they may end up being it's last resort. |
