Her heartbeat quickened as the scene unfolded before her eyes. Pity filled her for the man once more. She was surprised of Victoria's willingness to risk her life, as the woman ran to the dissipating figure. In Alain's eyes she saw the tell-tale signs of distrust. She had no need to remain in the space opposite the group and hurried to Alain's side. It was as if gravity was different in the bubble of energy. She noticed the floating sensation that came with the energy and could feel the electrons on the surface of her skin. The energy about Alain changed suddenly from foreign to her very own. Gwenefiere had thought that she could not use her magic, but could see now that her form had few limits on her abilities. She almost could not wait to return to her true form, though. The ritual would be perfect and she truly missed the taste of blood. Most off all though, she hated feeling. She felt pity now and embarrassment, and all of those complicated emotions that made a human, human. In a way though, she almost liked it. Even respected it. Mortality was something she would never forget. Bending, Gwenefiere gave an attempt to help Sabre from the orb, but found the girl too fast. Returning to her upright position, she began to chant several words. Then made a circular gesture with her hand, dissipating the sphere. The energy fell to dust about the chamber. She looked up at her strange new friend and was surprised at his gentleness. Large was not quite the word for him, nor was he massive. He was a good two heads above her, but he did not make her feel small or obscure. She like the little that she knew of Alain, and hoped to gain a better knowledge of him. He had a kindness that was seldom found but had also shown that he would not let others step upon him. Tired and somewhat quieted, Gwenefiere laid her hand on Alain's arm, somewhat a reflex. Her eyes returned to Victoria, watching the woman's pained face as she attempted to help the half-gone figure and watched his existance return. Seeing Victoria collapse, she fell into a slight shock. Feeling the metal of Alain's arms slip from under her fingers, he left from her side and over to Victoria and the being to move her from him. Pulling herself from the pit of unconciousness, Gwenefiere rushed to the side of Sabre and Victoria, checking Victoria for wounds which could be healed. Finding none, she turned to Alain. She had no idea whether or not to take this being's life, because he may return in another form to take her own. However, she felt no agression around him any longer. It was as if his energy changed. Without words, she moved to Alain, looked into the head of the machine and shook her head no. Everybody deserved a chance, but most of all she wanted an answer from his lips to her ears. "I need answers that only he has. Victoria must have saved him for a reason." Calling the golem forth, Gwenefiere ordered the golem to pick up the body of the being and bring him to a locked room within the castle for questioning. He was not to be harmed, simply contained. The prison was too intimidating for the being's cooperation. Atleast there would be a bed to lie in and food to nourish him in the chamber to accomodate his comfort. Turning to Sabre, she spoke, "Let us find a more comfortable surrounding as well, you need to have your wounds dressed. A prison is no place for an unconcious priestess." Turning back to Alain, "We have much to discuss, traveller." Gwenefiere smiled warmly to Alain. |

He looked at gwen, then nodded and took his foot off of the man, and slung the rifle back over his shoulder was well. he didnt trust the man, not one bit... but he somehow trusted her, had since the first time she touched his armor. He still didnt know how he had gotten those flashes without actually touching her - that sort of memory transfer had always had to be contact with bare hands in his previous experience... but somehow he had seen all of that, and she had seen things of him, he was sure. So he was going to trust her... and if she wanted the man kept alive... well that was alright. Alain smiled slightly. "Alright then... but I would rather talk without this armor on. Is there anywhere I could leave it, do you think? I've had it on for far too long..." He smiled weakly. The reason for that was that he had been running almost the whole time... couldnt very well take off the only advantage he had over the others in this world. Though seeing that man take a punch from his armor was worrisome... more than that. "Not that anyone could take it, really... but I dont want it to be in the way..." |

The creature made no attempt to resist. It was as if it was not concious of what was going on around it. It seemed as if a part of it was now gone. The malicious intent in it's eyes, the anger in it's voice, the tence motion of his movements, he looked like a puppet on strings but with no one operating them. Still his eyes kept searching, moving slowly, almost lazily, over each of them yet no word slipped through his lips nor any other motion given but that caused by the golem moving him. |

As Victoria was taken from her lap, she sighed and slumped down to the ground. Hearing the Queen's words, the fact that she was back and alive was afresh in her mind. She would have leapt for joy, but she could not. If only that damned necklace would kick in! She sat, waiting for a few moments before finally looking down. There was nothing around her neck! "Agh!" she cried out, falling forward and punching the ground repeatedly. "My necklace! Damn it all to hell! Guards! Necklace! On the counter in my shop beside a pile of parchment. Damn! I need it! Fast!" One werewolf walked up to Sabre and knelt before her momentarily before taking off up the steps on all fours. It would be awhile before he returned. She could teleport there, but she was in no condition to do so. "I'll wait here, M'Lady..." she mumbled up to Gwenefiere, finally. "I don't think I'd make it up the stairs without stumbling." She grit her teeth, trying to hold back the pain and choked cries so that she could finish what she was saying. "My wing hurts like f...well, you know what. I'll meet you all once the guard gets back. Take Victoria to a warmer place. I'll be fine." Her breaths were short and quick and entered and exited through her nose, as her teeth were clamped down tightly together. Staring at the stone floor, she pounded her fist lightly against it, trying to focus on that while she waited. |

Victoria lay in a deep sleep as Gwenefiere carried her motionless body to a chamber of the castle. The golem Gwenefiere had ordered to carry the other's body took the being into the room down the hall three doors from Victoria, perhaps to keep an eye on the both of them. Vicious dreams of her childhood flashed before her eyes as if it was the first time she had seen them. The murder of her mother, and the memory of her change of form. Every painful or tender moment that Victoria had lived seemed fresh, at the top of her thoughts. Victoria's mind tormented her memory after memory, while her image to others was peacfully in slumber. Time would tell in her recovery. It was any moment that conciousness may or may not find Victoria. |

One wereguard moved to Lady Sabre's side immediately, listening intently for his orders. Kneeling, he nodded to her and then took off on all fours. As he made his way up the stairs, his head flew back and he let out a loud howl, calling for a few others to make their way down to the jail to keep an eye out on the Lady. Once he was on the ground floor, he watched three other wolves pass him to go down to the Lady, while two waited anxiously for him at the door. The trio leapt out the open double doors, making a quick left onto the main street of town. The original wolf let out another howl, knowing it would reach those wolves still inside the Lady's home. A few minutes later, they saw a lone wolf running on its two hind legs, clutching something shiny in one of its hands. "Go!" the leader shouted in his gruff, canine voice. The two wolves who'd been accompanying him turned on a dime and took off with the one with the necklace, escorting him back down to where Lady Sabre was while the first wolf made his way quickly back to her shop to take up that wolf's post. Into the great building, down the hall and then down the stairs they flew. By the time they arrived, the jail was clear of people, save a few wolves keeping watch over the Lady and the Lady herself. Kneeling politely, the wolf with her necklace put it around Lady Sabre's neck and crawled back a few steps, hoping they were in time. |

Almost as soon as the first wolf left, three others had made their way down the steps to watch over her. In order to keep herself from slipping into unconsciousness, she began to talk with the wolves. "Dammit. I hate it when they attack my wing. It hurts like hell, you know." She grit her teeth as she tried to sit up, but a wolf was there beside her, gently keeping her where she was. "Guh. You're right. Don't move..." With a groan, she moved her hands out from under her and laid her head on them. Time seemed to be passing very slowly, so she began to count pebbles on the ground in front of her. "One, two, three.... fifty-five, fifty-six, dammit, what's that noise?" Looking left a bit, she saw what she thought was three shadows coming down the stairs at quite high speeds. When the first wolf emerged holding her necklace in its paw, she almost broke down and let herself go. Logic kicked in, however, and she lifted her head up so he could put the necklace around her neck. Nothing happened. A minute passed and still nothing. Slumping her head down in defeat, Sabre covered her face to hide the tears that were sure to come. Instead, a blue light began to glow, first enveloping the necklace and soon, her entire body. She felt nothing, and then she felt everything. Her body tingled and the glowing died away. Groaning, she shifted out of her demonic form, back into that of a young Drow woman. She felt herself being lifted up from the ground into the arms of something warm and fuzzy. With a small sigh, she let herself doze off finally as the guards brought her naked body and sword belt to an unused room. Once she was securely behind closed doors, one wolf set off to find the Queen and inform her of what had happened. |

Upon being set down in the room he remained standing this time, staring ahead. Not at the golem, not at anything, just staring blankly. The gemmed eyes in the armor began to shift in colors. First red, then black, white, then back to the normal aquamarine color. Ever few minutes the cycle repeated. His shoulders began to slump as time passed and soon he was hunched forward, standing, his arms dangling at his sides and his head slumped forward. |
