Forgotten: No one can escape. A great flash emerged above all of Aronia leaving each with short term memory loss. Years lost to the fog of amnesia. Can no one recall? That appears to be the case. Whom or what is responsible? Panic has stricken the globe. Will civilization collapse? What will emerge from the reset? Only time will tell. To each citizen of Aronia from the Global Gazette, we wish all luck.
Welcome to Aronia. We hope you enjoy your visit.

She knew now that each person in this room was her friend, but her mind was fogged and she did not understand why they were fighting. Victoria's eyes caught hers, reflecting both resentment and joy. She had seen that look before, but never understood. Gwen promised herself there that she would resolve any issue Victoria had with her. Their friendship was not something she forgot, nor would she ever. The woman scrambled towards her and Gwen dropped to the floor to be at her level. She wrapped her arms around the woman tightly in a show of love and compassion for her dear friend. Gwen could not embrace her for too long, as she must balance the situation. Pushing herself up and away from the door, she circled around her new found friend and the being dangling in his grasp. Gwen sat onto her knees to assess the situaiton. Still scanning the energy, Gwen took three strands of hair from her head and began to tie them into a series of knots. As she weaved them around her fingers, a slight glow began to emit from the strands of hair. When the glow reached a piercing hue, she placed them into her palm and closed her hand. Her mind blanked then, allowing her subconcious to react to the world about her. Though they sat in the middle of the stone penitenturary, a sudden gust of wind whipped through the room. Slowly she began to raise her arms at her sides, the wind strengthening with each millimeter. The rush of cool air carried a whine that became defening as the knucles of her fist touched above her head. The stones that composed the walls began to melt upwards, almost stretching the chamber skyward. As the sound climaxed, her eyes shot open, her irises the color of blood. For a moment then, the world stopped, quieting. All that could be heard was Gwen's shallow breath. Slamming her fists into the stone below her, several stones crumbled as she hit and the ceiling returned to normal. The structure shook with the might of her magic, breaking loose a cloud of dust which formed a sphere around the two opponents. Within the sphere, all magic was neutralized for the time being. It would only last minutes, but it would give a chance to reincarcarate the agressor and bring a fair fight. If the beings were to leave the sphere, the neutralizing effect would be diffused. However, if still inside, it is a barrier from outside magic as well. Gwen waited, watching eargerly, hoping the playing field was now equal.

When his punch did almost nothing, barely even stunning the man, Alain had to try not to just gape. The armor's microhydralics and myomer greatly increased his strength... so how the hell was that man still concious? AI, self-diagnostic, all actuator and microactuators, status? The computer was silent for just a second, but it replied that the system was functioning normally. Then that bastard took a punch that would have made pebbles out of these stone walls, and isn't even HURT!? Before he could try again, however, the man's magic hit his hand, the electricity coursing into the suit. The armor was well insulated from that kind of attack - electric weapons had been the bane of the original model combat suits - but the sheer voltage meant a lot of electric friction, and his hand began to get hot - VERY hot.

"Ah! Dammit!"

He locked his other hand around the man's neck, letting go with the other hand and having the armor pump more coolant to it before he got seriosuly burned. The electricity was still going to flow, he imagined, but he had already readied for that - until some more very weird shit started happening. Almost as soon as the sphere began to form, the AI started throwing up warnings and error messages - Power circuit interrupt, MASC system inoperable, PSI-AMP down, and a string of other problems. He noticed, though, that the onslaught of electricity stopped as well. Oh, no... she's trying to cancel his magic, and it's playing merry hell with my suit too? This is a bad day, a very bad day! Before he could do anything though, the sphere was fully formed, and Alain found himself in an almost completely dead suit, holding a... well a something by the neck. He couldn't move anymore, the suit was too heavy, but it had locked all the joints as the power system failed - no way was that man going to pry his fingers off, no matter how strong he was... or at least Alain hoped. Even another suit could barely do that... hopefully that guy wasnt as tough as his suit. He then realized he had another problem - no air. What was left in the helmet wouldnt lst too long, hopefully the sphere wasnt permanent. Before he started listing all the other things that were about to go straight to hell, he feltsomething against his chest - a warmth of sorts. It started to spread, manifesting on the outside of his armor as thin golden lines that spread, almost like veins or ivy, along his armor, spreading to his fingertips and boots, until suddenly: ALL SYSTEMS RESTORED. Alain clenched his other fist, and laughed.

"YES!"

He lifted the man, trying to at least get him off of the woman, then threw him at the ground as hard as he could, the gold lines fading, but the power was holding steady, unaffected now by the field. That hair she gave me...? Was that it...?

The minute the field had formed he began to yell, sheer agony pouring from his mouth and the emotion, if not canceled by the field, would have been an empathic aura. He struggled with the hands to try and get free but it quickly became obvious that he was being effected in a much similar matter to the powered-armor his opponent was wearing except he did not adjust to it. Upon hitting the ground his body went limp and tumbled, although near the edge of the sphere he did not escape it. The hand that was held about his head appeared to be now a metal mess that was the gauntlet he wore on it. His body layed a mangled lump for a moment before he finally stirred. The thick black vapor was pouring from different wounds upon his body, back, neck, hand, and now his mouth and nose as well although it seemed to dissipate the moment it left him like hot breathe on a cold day. Still he placed his hands, yes both, on the ground and began to pull himself towards the edge of the barrier. The color leaving his eyes, his body seemed to be changing, he was starting to look malnuturished. The orbs socketed in his armor stopped glowing and became a dull light blue. He groaned as he neared the edge of the anti-magic sphere, despite the short distance it seemed he was struggling to simply move at this point. It was quite obvious, the anti-magic was destroying him.

Victoria watched with fear and hope as Gwen stepped in and began to right the situation, basically save their asses again. She had been saved many times by Gwenefiere, this was no uncommon situation. However, Victoria had helped Gwenefiere as well. In fact, Victoria gave up her immortality at one point in order to ressurect Gwenefiere and killed herself from the millenia of knowledge destroying her mortal mind and sanity. The brief movements of Gwenefiere resulted in a sphere which Victoria could feel within herself, her own magical ability would be drained as well. The being who had attacked her was getting his skull smashed, but it did not seem to effect him. Confused was the best way to describe Victoria at that moment. Then the contraption switched hands, the being must have done something to harm the man inside. The mechanical suit went still and Victoria did not need to know how or why it worked, but at that moment that it didn't. Dread made a rock in her stomach. Miraculously the suit which held the man began to move again. This was a day for many phenomenons. Looking to being who had attacked her, he had been thrown to the floor like a rag doll. The thing looked pathetic. The sphere ate away at the being, looking to be extremely painful. The same material she had held her breath to not inhale was escaping from the being from almost every orface or opening of his body. As the being tried to save himself, the armor and his own eyes giving away its futility, Victoria began to pity him. The poor being to expire in such a way, so painfully. Unfortunately for Victoria, she often did not think before reacting, wether it be with her words or actions. Feeling very strongly for anything she belived in, it was as much a strength as a weakness.

She knew her magic would be useless as well, but it did not stop her. Victoria got up and ran over to the edge of the shpere closest to the being as he wasted away before her eyes. Reaching into the field, Victoria felt her own ability negated, leaving her with physical protection as her only defense. Pulling the being underneath his arms, Victoria turned her head, still wary of the vapors rising from him. Dragging, the being was quite light as he had greatly evaporated. Within moments, he was outside the sphere and it would most likely take a bit to regain his strength. Much had been destroyed within the sphere, and if it was made as Gwen would make it, which was with much intensity and lack of sensitivity, the being would need some time to regain what was lost. For Victoria, her ability returned without harm. Her ability was simply cut off for the moment she was inside the sphere. A thought crossed her mind, if it would work Victoria had no way of knowing. It made sense with her own abilities and teachings, however there were many aspects of nature and magic which took many more millenia of meditation to understand. Welling up energy, that of healing, compassion and loyalty, Victoria held his forehead down with a hand and placed the other onto his chest. The hand upon his forehead linked her to the being through his third-eye. That which is most sensitive with energy, magic and alike. It was the most common point on a large majority of beings for magical centering. If he was created as it had seemed through his own words, it was most likely there. The hand over his chest, even with the armor, it was more symbolic of his life, as his heart would be around that area. Still, symbolism and visualization was a large part of her ability. Letting what she had built up flow from her, Victoria directed it into the being, begging the energies to almost fill this being, replacing what had been lost. Not knowing exactly what the being was, Victoria did not know how her actions would effect him. Atleast she had tried something, she could not just let the being dissipate into nothing. It seemed Victoria was always healing somebody, be it a mage in her temple or a child falling in the streets and skinning their knee. She waited patiently, keeping her eyes locked with the beings, she may be trying to help him, but he could try and hurt her again. She rather keep her guard up just in case.

OOC: Sorry I've been out and away for awhile. Been spendin' time with my booooooyfriend. ;) Oh, and then there was one point where I tried to deal with this RPing creep... *rolls her eyes* He calls himself an Admin... I call him B.eff'in.S. LoL.

IC:

As Sabre's lips left the being's neck, the black liquid quickly began evaporating from her face. The last thing she remembered was that it had a very sour and acrid taste. Then her world went black.

Her eyes flew open again hours later... but that couldn't be. The being was still lying on top of her, but Victoria had left the brawling area and in her place was what seemed to be a mechanical man. He had his hands around the man's neck and was lifting him off of her. Cringing, she remembered her wing and the pain flowed throughout her body again.

Then came a new pain. Her swords sizzled behind her and she heard them calling out to her to save them. Her body was steadily growing weaker, but as the man was lifted from her body, she rolled to her stomach and lashed out at the swords, pushing them out of the anti-magic sphere. A sense of relief washed over her as thank you's cried out in the back of her mind, but that feeling of calm was very brief, indeed.

She grit her teeth as all of the pains combined inside her small body. She would not yell. It was not her way. Without her swords, she was stuck here in this anti-magic field, unless she could make it herself to the edge. That would mean crawling another three feet.

Tears formed at the corners of her eyes as she pulled herself forward a few inches with her elbows. Everything was loud in her ears, and yet she couldn't hear any voices at all. Just a very loud, fuzzy nothingness. She had to stop after pulling herself a few more inches to catch her breath. Biting her lower lip, she tried her hardest to fight back the pain and the magic that was draining her very own. Her magic was a part of her and without it, she was, well... she didn't quite know what would happen. She'd been turned into this creature by a powerful mage almost a decade ago and so she'd gotten used to her form and all the powers it gave her.

It was as if a very heavy weight had been lifted from her body as she finally reached the outside of the sphere. She didn't know how long it had taken her. What had seemed like hours to her was probably more like a minute or two. As she lay on her stomach beside her swords, panting for breath, she looked to Victoria. What was she - no! Healing the enemy?! Was she mad?!

Pulling her swords into her hands, she found that she had to grip them tightly in order to keep them in her hands. She moved to her knees, and then up to her feet jerkily, but as quick as she could.

"Victoria!" she shouted, her lips curled up into a snarl as she looked to the deteriorating man. "Get away from him! Are you out of your mind?!"
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.
Kaylee: He looks kinda mean.
Wash: That's sorta what I meant.
Simon: This must be what going mad feels like.
Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me...

Dragged from the circle seemed to do little for him at first but once he was fully out of the field the sigil on his chest began to emit a low glow. He was now motionless and his eyes a dull, lifeless grey. As the priestess attempted to heal him the armor began to draw on the magic, seemingly accelerating the process as wounds sealed, his crushed hand uncrumpled with rather audible sounds of joints snapping and reforming, his legs straightening but even now his eyes were open and colorless. The eye-like orbs set in the demonic heads on his armor now glowed with the same aquamarine glow. His body's original mass was back, no longer looking near as drained but despite how lifeless he looked his eyes were still lifeless. The lingering aura of madness was now gone as well.

As the energy flowed, Victoria began to feel a rush of her own energy escape her body. She was only supposed to be a cup to the energy, letting your own go was not a smart idea. However, it was not by choice. The being required so much at this point, that it could not take enough with the natural flow. Victoria had no sense of her surroundings, as the action took all of her concentration. The touch of the armour began to burn her skin, a tingling sensation began to seep into her hand and up her arm. As it spread to her chest, Victoria found it hard to breathe. For only a moment, her breath stopped and the turquoise color the being had on his armour and which was in his eyes, flashed through hers. The energy's pull kept Victoria connected with the being. As his body seemed to gain some stability, the transfer began to slow. At a safe point, Victoria lifted her touch. Noticing his eyes held no color, Victoria feared her efforts were not effective enough. However, she knew going into it, that failure was a possibility. Looking up towards the others, Victoria blinked a few times and focused. Looking to Sabre, she noticed healing was needed there as well. Moving to stand, Victoria fell back down. Smirking at her own clumsiness, Victoria brushed it off.

"I can heal you too," Victoria offered Saber and began to get up again. Suddenly, Victoria was lightheaded and dizzy. Before she could utter a noise, conciousness left her and Victoria collapsed upon the motionless being before her.

As the thing tried to crawl away, Alain raised his arm, and was intent on crushing it. He clenched his fist, but looking down at then thing, he shook his head.

"Already finished, aren't you, you son of a bitch..."

He walked over to the other woman as she crawled out, apparently suffering much the same effect from the sphere, but as soon as the armor left it he felt a sudden power surge, and the system fluctuated for a moment. POWER CELLS OPERATIONAL.. Alain was startled for a moment, but helped the woman steady herself, his mind racing. Then... they were knocked offline by that sphere after all..? But then how could I move? Don't tell me all the power was coming from somewhere else... He swallowed, and decided he would have to figure that one out later. The helmet and visor split and slid back, reveling his face again, and he kneeled.

"Are you okay... er sorry, don't know your name, I gu -"

He cut himself off as sabre yelled, and gaped in shock for the briefest of moments.

"Are you freaking INSANE!?"

He stood back up, again towering over the others, and unslung the rifle he was carrying on his back. He ran the bolt once, the gun making an audible click followed by a low hum, increasing in pitch and then dying off. He leveled the barrel at the thing as it recovered, but before he could move to throw her off of it, she fainted.

"Dammit, will someone get her out of here?"

He walked quickly over to the spot where the two lay, then knelt and pushed Victoria gently a slight distance, before standing again, placing one armored boot on the man's chest - not crushing, but if the thing intended to get up it would mean moving nearly a half-ton of armor, mechanics, and Marine - and leveling the rifle's barrel directly at the man's face. The tip of it was barely an inch away. Alain narrowed his eyes.

"Don't need targeting at this range, so I swear... if you move one muscle I will blow your goddamned brains out, do you hear me...?"

He spoke fairly quietly, but the menace was very obvious. He looked over towards gwen and sabre, keeping the man in his view, however.

"Say the word. Say the word and he's dead."

The being lay still for a good few moments then suddenly it gasped. The lifeless eyes looking up at the head of the armor, past the barrel of the weapon. Slowly it's eyes shifted to look at the fallen priestess, then the rest who were in the room. It's then went to the barrel of the gun, it stared at the barrel blankly. Though the man in the armor may not be able to tell through the thick metallic foot of his powered armor but either the creature wasnt breathing or it was holding it's breathe. Yet despite it's earlier, short and contained, rampage it now lay here utterly docile. A dim glow coming from his chest, though it was smothered by a metallic foot at the moment and not near visible.

Sabre sheathed her swords, gritting her teeth as she dragged herself over to where the strange, metallically armoured man had pushed Victoria. Dropping to her knees beside the priestess, she pulled the unconscious woman's head into her lap and moved the hair from her face with a few gentle, yet shaking fingers.

"It's okay, Victoria... I think we've got the situation handled... I'm sorry for yelling at you... Wake up... Please..." Tears fell from her eyes freely now, though no sobs escaped her mouth.

She held tightly to the fragile body of the priestess and closed her eyes, leaning her exhausted head down to rest on the woman's cold cheek. Her body was racked with pain, her blood dripped down from her face, arms and most of all, her back right shoulder blade, where her wing fastened to her back.

"Please, wake up..."
