Forgotten: No one can escape. A great flash emerged above all of Aronia leaving each with short term memory loss. Years lost to the fog of amnesia. Can no one recall? That appears to be the case. Whom or what is responsible? Panic has stricken the globe. Will civilization collapse? What will emerge from the reset? Only time will tell. To each citizen of Aronia from the Global Gazette, we wish all luck.

to chime in...lol basically its modern conveniences with simple machines. That's why its not so wide spread. but everything is green technology, to keep the planet healthy. So if you can make it without nuclear energy, plastic and all that shit, it can exist. As for the other stuff, it was not allowed to be on aroina. Otherwise, Aroina would be Earth.

OOC: By the way, guys... I didn't post as Keene Jada because uhm, well, I forgot... But just go ahead and do your posts. He'll just be there securing the guy unless you pick the sorcerer up or whatever... in which case, Keene Jada will stand and get into a position where he can easily tackle the man if need be. Y'know... the general "roar no touchy my friends, I'ma kill you mother f'er!" stance. LoL
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.

(( OOC: Ok, this is a lot of OOC without postage, so I'm just gonna go ahead and modify this later into a real post. Feel free to have your characters keep doing what they're doing as the introduction of my "baddies" probably won't directly interrupt anything.

Anyway...I'm back! Survived 14 hours in a van with my family! (Love 'em, but...14 hours in a van sux!) That's 7 hours each way. My cousin's wedding was nice, though his bride seemed mildly drunk even BEFORE the reception! Either that or she was just giddy. *shrug* Anyhoo, fun times!

Thank u all 4 answering my questions, although the pop culture references seem to be out on a limb. :P I basically anticipated the answers you gave me; I was just checking. Muahaha! But...elves hating humans? Gee, I was under the impression that Morag and Davyn got together pretty well. I guess there are exceptions to every rule. ANYhoo! I'm hot and hungry right now. I'll post here later on tonight! ))

"Lord Drakkus...report."

The slender figure turned abruptly at the sound of his name. A swirling portal of dark purple-black energy was pulsating behind a shadowy, cloaked form. Black fog swirled about the hem of its robes, billowing over the gravel-strewn roof of the Casino Kelpie. It held a long staff in its right hand that was adorned with a skull. Human, no doubt. Authentic. The light coming from the streetlamps below cast just enough light for one to discern the few features that were visible beneath the figure's cloak. The hand and lower jaw were rotten and decaying with dull gray flesh and exposed bone. Whoever this figure was, he was no longer counted among the living. As he approaches the one named Drakkus, the portal behind him spirals shut as if it had never been there.

"Master Karagoth. I was not expecting you here." Drakkus balls his right hand into a fist, then slaps it over his chest while giving a slight bow, "This is a...pleasant surprise."

Karagoth laughs cynically, "Spare me the formalities, Drakkus. We both know you don't want me here. I was sent to check up on your progress, however. Everything going smoothly, I take it?" His tone was laced with sarcasm as he moved to stand beside Drakkus, gazing out over the neon-lit casino district of Marsotp.

Drakkus frowned at his superior. Not that Karagoth would notice. Drakkus' entire body was wrapped up in jetblack bandages, much akin to an ancient mummy. He did not even have a space for his eyes, nose, or mouth. Everything was completely covered. Here and there the bandages were loose, fluttering in the cool breeze. The bandages towards the back of his head were somewhat tapered as well, giving him an overall sinister appearance. Many of Drakkus' enemies assumed that he was blind; that was always an advantage in combat. There were far better ways of "seeing" one's opponent than by merely using the naked eye. Drakkus speaks without looking towards Karagoth, "Not quite."

"Oh? What is the problem, Lord Drakkus?"

"The humans that we're using have become clumsy. Exposing themselves and killing more than neccessary."

Karagoth laughed genuinely this time, "HUMANS?! You're using humans?! Well, there is your first mistake, my friend. You can never trust a human to do a demon's job. How exactly did you plan on having them find the dragon, anyway?"

Drakkus gritted his teeth, but managed to keep his anger in check. Karagoth was just a pile of rotting bones beneath those robes, he knew...but the warlock weilded more than enough power to crush Drakkus like a bug if he wanted. "Their instructions were to slay a patron and draw the bouncers into action."

"And?" Karagoth pressed.

"And they were successful in doing that...but not so successful at escaping the scene. Most of them have already been subdued. It is noteworthy that one of our mages' spells was countered by one of the bouncers."

"This is hardly news to me, Drakkus. This dimension is a cesspool of magical potential just waiting to be exploited. Surely the locals know how to employ this energy to their own benefits."

"The spell that was used is one that the mages of Azeroth are frequently taught."

Karagoth pauses, then turns slowly to look at Drakkus, "Azeroth, you say? Hmm...this could be useful information, indeed. But the fools of Azeroth use common magic anyway. It could just be a fluke."

"Perhaps. But this individual seems different from the rest. A different aura is about him."

"The dragon?"

"It is only a hunch, Master Karagoth...but I intend on following up."

"Hm...yes. Very well, Lord Drakkus. I shall take my leave for now. Continue with your little...investigation." Karagoth chuckles evilly, then turns and begins walking away. He waves his staff absently at the air in front of him and the portal appears once more. He is about to step through when Drakkus interrupts him.

"Master...if I may be so bold...how is the Paladin doing?"

Karagoth stops, then turns slowly. A scowl was obviously in his tone, "He has proven to be...harder to break than Lord Kel'Thuzad had anticipated. Much harder than you were, my friend. But he shall serve us eventually. And when he does, nothing on Azeroth or Aronia will be able to stop the Scourge."

Drakkus nodded as Karagoth disappeared, the portal vanishing moments later. He closes his thoughts and looks once again with his inner Eye. Most of the bouncers were gathered in one of the hallways. The foolish tendress had stumbled upon the human who had just recently stabbed one of the star singers. Drakkus heaves a mental sigh. No finesse whatsoever. That was certainly enough to qualify as a breach of contract in his book. Something would have to be done about it. He may as well take advantage of the situation...

Drakkus focuses his dark energies and vanishes quite suddenly in a purple-black haze ((Much akin to Nightcrawler's teleporting in X2!)). Seconds later, he reappears directly beside the man who had murdered Natalie. The girl, Tevy, was there as well. With his Inner Eye, Drakkus takes note of the fighting gloves on her hands and the deep scars that were bleeding on the man's face. So...the girl had decided to take justice into her own hands, eh? Drakkus had to laugh inwardly. She had already done half the job for him. The man on the floor was still alive...but he was clinging onto life with only the finest of threads. Drakkus intended to sever it. Whether the tendress saw him or not, he didn't really care. He speaks slowly and calmly to the man, his voice sounding like a harsh whisper, "You have overstepped your boundaries, my friend. Only one person was to die. And you weren't even at your post."

The man groans, sputtering and coughing up blood. His words are barely discernable, but Drakkus hears them with supernatural clarity, "Johnson, you sonova---Issat you?!"

Drakkus' evil smile goes unnoticed beneath the bandages, "No...I'm afraid you have mistaken me for someone who cares. Unfortunately, your fate is sealed. I'll be taking your soul now." With that, Drakkus suddenly removes the bandages on his left hand. Beneath them is what appears to be a bloodred...hole? It was pulsating slightly as if it were alive. Dark lines stretched out from its edges, apparently embedded in Drakkus skin itself. Without warning, Drakkus slams his hand down on the man's chest directly over his heart. Brilliant red energy begins to flow from the man's prostrate form and up Drakkus' arm. The energy then spreads throughout the dark figure's body, seemingly invigorating him and giving him strength. Drakkus' victim begins to scream in pain, but the scream is cut dramatically short as the man's lungs simply collapse. In fact, the man's entire body was beginning to age at an extremely rapid pace. His cheeks sink in, as do his eye sockets and his neck. Within a minute or so, the man is dead...All that was left of his body was a mutilated skeleton with skin clinging to the bones.

Drakkus stands and stretches, feeling the fresh energies flowing through his body. Ah, it felt so good to feast! He carefully wraps his hand back up, then scans the room with his inner Eye. The tendress was close after all. He speaks to her, "I would suggest you not try anything stupid unless you would prefer a similar fate."

(( OOC: Oooh yeeeeah! Bad guys rock! Well, believe it or not, these bad guys will probably be easier to take down than Manticore cuz they use magic. Strange how I feel limited by that but not by technology. Oh well. Hope to see some fun from this thread. Whoot! ))

Chase crossed his arms for a moment, then he shook his head nudged Jada's shoulder.

"Off, man."

When he had the room, he put his shoe on the man's neck, and gradually started to apply pressure.

"Okay asshole here's where you stand. I lack the time or the patience right now to interrogate you and frankly the long slow and painful death thing is just way too time consuming for me because I dont have a week to torture you. What I will tell you, though, is that in about thirty secodns I am going to turn you over to the drow that run this place and I guarantee they have nothing but time and enjoyment for torture. Plus, they're better at it than I am, so you've got"

He looked up at the shout, and then shook his head.

"I get to the heart of things and always interruptions... Kiri!"

She nodded, then dashed off down the hall. Chase turned his attention back to the man trying desperately to breathe with him practically standing on his windpipe.

"Changed my mind. You've got ten seconds. Nine. Eight...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kiri jumped down the last set of stairs, landing lightly - one benefit to being what she was, and looked around, listening for anything. She had recognised that yell....

"Tevy, sweetie? Where are you?"

She went to look, until she heard the heavy breathing and pushed into the room with her.

"Tevy...?"

What was going on in there...?

ooc: come on tell us lol

Brass watched Chase handle the make-shift interrogation. His style worked for the situation at hand. Unconciously, Brass rubbed his hands over his knuckles, the urge to beat the man to a bloody pulp almost taking hold. A sudden shout caught his attention the same way it had Chase. The voice was female and that's all he had to hear to get pushed over the edge.

"If you need me, holler," Brass intended the statment for both as he followed behind Kiri. He could have passed her, but it was much more pleasing from the rear. Another scream echoed through the corridors as he slid down the stair banister, this time male. Perhaps the woman had defended herself, but there was something horrifying about the sound that led him to belive otherwise. Reaching the bottom of the stairs, he noticed the room was dark and felt the wall for the switch. The lights of the cocktail lounge were oil, but were rigged with a pilot light of sorts that allowed one to control them. He slowly brought the lights up for their eyes to adjust easier when Brass heard kiri call Tevy's name. Dread stabbed his stomach as his eyes adjusted and searched the room.

OOC: To be honest, I don't even know what happened... I thought Tevy killed him when she went back there, but I don't know because some other guy got to him first or something. Oh, okay... Nevermind. Guess Tevy didn't kill him cuz the mage got to him first. Then... Uhm... Hmm... Guess I'm sorta screwed. LoL

IC:

Keene Jada notices Chase's nod of the head and moves slowly away from the man's neck, onto his torso. As soon as Chase's foot is securely starting to smother the mage's throat, he moves away, letting the head bouncer do his job.

The first shout he heard from downstairs sent shivers down his spine. He knew that voice better than anything in this world. Looking to Chase, he snarled, his eyes glowing a bright yellow. "I'll be back. Take care of this wretch."

With that, Keene Jada spun on his heel, taking off along with Brass and Kiri. He trusted them to keep Tevy safe from whatever else had made that heart-clenching scream, but he wanted to keep her safe himself. She was his companion after all, not theirs. If anything happened to Tevy... he wouldn't be able to forgive himself.

Slowing up some on the stairs, he allowed Brass and Kiri to take the lead. By the time they reached the botoom, he was halfway down the last set of stairs. Opening his mouth, he let out a loud, draconic roar to let whatever down there know what was soon to come. His feet hit the floor as the roar died down and he darted instantly towards where he could sense Tevy. She was frightened. Scared out of her poor mind. He had to save her!

Tevy had yelled out in anger when she'd seen that there was another man there to help the one she'd returned to kill. Looking to Natalie's limp, bloody body, she then averted her attention back to the men. Her eyes widened as the second man attacked the first, without even really attacking. He was using magic!

"Shit..." she breathed, eyes unmoving.

When the sorcerer finished with his victim, Tevy's body shook with fear. She was next. Surely he was coming for her now. Soon, she would be screaming just as loud and pitiful as the first man had. But no. The sorcerer spoke to her.

"I... I..." Tevy tried telling him that she wouldn't, but the only comprehensible thing she could manage was shaking her head 'no'. Tears streamed down her face as she heard familiar voices. A loud roar echoed throughout the place, but all she heard was Keene Jada calling her name.

"Keene Jada..." she whispered, her body relaxing slightly.

Chase grit his teeth and shook his head slightly as the others ran off. This was getting bloody tiresome.

"Five... four... Ah fuck it I'm tired of counting."

He pulled his foot off and was about to slam down on his throat when the man suddenly raised his hands, and a blast of fire issued from them, straight for Chase's head. He was too quick, though, and leapt back, pushed off with his hands, then he drew one hand back, twisted, and a burst of air slammed the would-be attacker in the chest. He flew back a good thirty feet before slamming into a wall, where he collapsed and Chase put a hand to his head.

"Dumbass... You better not be dead over there!"

He walked over and frowned. Nope. Alive. Pity, but still... kind of necessary.

-------------------------------------------------

ooc: Hope you don't mind me taking a little license with your sorcerer, Halley

ic: The sorcerer turned to face Tevy, and his lips widened in a smile. He was going to finish what the inept bastard had been unable to.... good. He lifted his hand, spoke an incantation, and energy began gathering at his fingertips, azure blue sparks gathering around his hand - and suddenly he stopped. His eyes glazed over, and the glow vanished before the man simply collapsed to the ground, a small knife buried to its hilt in the back of his neck. Kiri stepped into the room from a passage behind where the man had been standing, two more knives between her fingers. She shook her head.

"Stupid prick... Tevy, you okay?"

She walked over to the girl and knelt beside her, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"I'm so sorry, we had someone on you for protection, I'll kill the bastard when I find him... you're not hurt are you...?"

(( OOC: Alright, I believe there's been a little confusion here. First of all, on my part, for misunderstanding Halley's post of the confrontation with Natalie's murderer. I went back and re-read it, but the man's actual death seems only implied, not certified. Still, I would like to maintain that Drakkus actually sucked the man's soul away, if that's okay. It helps to show Drakkus' ruthless personality. I went back just now and edited my previous post slightly. Secondly, the "sorcerer" in Halley's last post is none other than Drakkus himself, so...yeah. His lips can't curl into a smile and his eyes can't glaze over. His entire head is covered with black, oily-looking bandages. Hehe. It would also take a lot more than a knife to the neck to dispose of him. His powers are demonic in nature and he collects souls. Still, I'll be willing to work with this if you'd like to play out the scene that way. Lemme know. =D ))
