Brass turned at a familiar voice. He nodded and Chase told the man how he could help. "Thank you, we need all of the help we can get," He said to the man. The name eluded him for the moment. Following Chase up the stairs, Brass was just as pissed as he. Busting up some faces was something he could totally use right now. Whether it was out of anger for messing with his casino, or for hurting Tevy Brass couldn't discern right now. The best thing was to get this matter settled as soon as possible. When the two men high-tailed it like sissies, Brass watched Chase take them down. Without warning, Brass busted out laughing. "Holy shit man!" He spoke between laughs, "That was friggen awesome!" At the question of weapons or skill, Brass pulled out two sets of brass knuckles, one from each boot. Fitting them comfortably on his hands, Brass shadow boxed for a moment. "They don't call me Brass because of my balls..." The spontaneous blaze sent him flat against the wall. Watching Chase tuck and roll, he felt the intense heat pass him by. "Well now, someone isn't playing by the rules. Magic is a no-no in my casino," Brass offered a hand to Chase, "This ain't the time to be getting all lazy on me." |

OOC Note: The only two people who know Keene Jada is a dragon are Tevy and her mom.
It's sorta their little family secret... like a recipe... only... err... different.... *shifty eyes*IC: "Next time you deal with a girl in shock who decides to lash out emotionally all of the sudden, you try to hurry," Keene Jada growled lightly. It wasn't a mean growl, but rather one of slight annoyance at what he was speaking. Looking to Kiri, he nodded and took off up the stairs so that they could wrap around and effectively meet up with Brass and Chase on the next level. Sensing that the Neko wouldn't be saying much while she ran, Keene Jada kept himself quiet as well. Not that he had anything to talk about, either, anyways. Something up ahead made his ears prick up. Voices. Human. Male. At least five. As he and Kiri reached the last step and darted down that corridor, he picked up the voices of Brass and Chase clearly. He heard them laughing. Had they taken out the threat single-handedly? Surely they couldn't have. Not so quickly. Rounding the corner, Keene Jada saw that they hadn't... but they didn't know that. Both of their backs were turned to a man whose fingers were on fire as he quickly built up a fireball between them, only to hurl it at the men. "Hey!" Keene Jada called out, charging forward. Fire scared him not. The sorcerer spun quickly, noticing the change from him being at an advantage to being at a severe disadvantage. His hands began to burn as he charged up another fireball... right in the middle of the hallway! 'How disrepectful,' Keene Jada thought to himself as he positioned himself so that he was running directly between the sorcerer and Kiri so that the fire would not hit the Neko. Though he did not doubt her dodging abilities, he'd rather be safe than sorry. As the fireball came flying down the hall at Keene Jada, he sent the sorcerer a wicked grin and held out his right hand in front of him. The fireball hissed as it got about five feet in front of the silver dragon in disguise. The walls on either side of him and a few feet ahead as well, became quite cold as frost crept onto the surfaces of picture frames and furniture in the hall. By the time Keene Jada reached it, the fireball had been put out completely and so he charged straight through. Frost crept up onto the hem of the sorcerer's khakis. A look of shock invaded his arrogant grin as he found himself encased in a very light layer of ice. The cone of cold stopped reaching out further, but the effects of it remained where they were. Instead of stopping when he reached the sorcerer, Keene Jada channeled his anger into an attack. Holding his right arm out to the side now, he sent the lightly frozen sorcerer a hell of a clothesline and both man and dragon went to the floor. Keene Jada knew the others would be on them in seconds, so he worried more about keep pressure on the man's neck with his forearm while they approached. Surely he wouldn't try anything with what he must think to be another sorcerer at his throat. But then again, Keene Jada had seen stupider men in his time. |

Chase looked at brass for a moment, one eyebrow raised, then he saw another fireball coming at him, and he lashed out with one hand. The fireball seemed to meet something in midair, and then just went out, snuffed in an instant. Chase got back to his feet, dusting himself off again, and he sighed. "I'm not even going to go there with you... and I suppose I really should have seen that joke coming... but who the hell wants brass balls anyways?" With that, he was off running again, towards the mage. At one point some man ran out to try and stop him, but Chase just jumped, planted a foot on his head, and vaulted over him, leaving the man to stumble. "All yours!" He came around the bend then to see Jada holding the mage by the neck already, so he frowned slightly. "Well that's anticlimactic. At least let me punch him in the kidney or something." ______________________________________________ Kiri laughed a little as they ran. "So, you're pissed off too, huh? Well that's good, I think..." As they came around to see the sorcerer, she looked a little surprised. "Huh... they hire high profile cases." She was about to suggest that they flank him when Keene demonstrated a nice ability to counter the man's fire, so she waved him an 'all yours' and instaead turned to two other men running up the hall, focused now on the man rather than her. "That's not polite..." She stepped between them and Jada, to their surprise - a neko babe dressed like THAT was trying to stop them? One drew a knife and made to knock - or stab - her out of the way, but she moved about an inch to the side, took his hand almost gently, then clamped down, pressing in on the pressure points in his wrist. He let out a yelp as the bones in his hand almost broke, then she snapped an open palmed punch to his nose and he went down, bleeding. The other man fared no better - she just grabbed him close and rammed her knee into his crotch, then dropped him, giving him a wink. "Closest you'll ever get, asshole." |

Another ball of fire caught Brass' attention. Preparing himself to possibly be roasted, he was surprised to watch it lose flame. The drop in temperatue could be felt as well, granted it was not enough to cause a shiver. Chase's remark about seeing the joke coming brough a nod of the head from Brass. Then about brass balls, "You'd be surprised..." He said knowingly. Heading the same direction as Chase, Brass watched him clear a man, leaving him for Brass to take care of. "Only one? Come on!" He called to Chase. Approaching the man, who shook and rubbed his head after Chase's use of him as a stepping stone, Brass stood and let him take the first swing. Which of course he did. Grabbing the man's fist with one hand, he immediately threw his other fist into the man's jaw, shattering the bone. Shoving the man back with the hand he held, Brass watched him regain composure. "How'd that feel?" He asked the man, who only grunted charged him in response. Until the last second before the man reached him Brass stood. Taking a step to the side, he tripped the man with his foot and caught him by the hair on the back of his head. Yanking back, he slammed the man's face on the other side again, breaking the last of his jaw and a cheek bone. The feel and sound of breaking bone releasing some of Brass' anger. The man screamed in pain and fell to a heap on the floor, covering his head. Brass spit on the man and kicked him in the ribs hard. "Come here again and I'll kill you," He threatened the man. Even though the man would survive, his face would be horribly deformed and Brass would recognize him. Fear was sometimes more powerful than death. The scars of brass knuckles were easily identified, atleast for Brass. Following Chase, he recognized the man who held another to the ground, Brass assuming the one on the ground was the one who caused the fireball. Otherwise the man would have attacked like the other pathetic whelps. Brass smiled when he saw the girl and nodded. He now knew why she wanted nothing to do with him, she was a lesbian. Looking to Chase and the man he recognized, Brass motioned to the guy on the floor. "Did he talk yet?" Brass cracked his fingers even with the knuckles still on, "Or does he need a little persuasion?" |

OOCLY: Alright...I don't know how much you all are going to like this...*grins evily* But I do. Not sure if it will fit in with what you plotted out...But If it dosen't I will make due and add in some interesting twists of my own. ANyways. Lets all toast to the Death. (Yes I know I'm sick. Lol) IC: Natalie sat with her glass of water, resting at the table. She was oblivious to all that was going on above her in the upper rooms. Mayhap that was the problem. She was tired and sobered up now, it had been a little while. There was noone on the bar floor but her, and she would have guessed, had she been asked, that the doors were unlocked. It must have been a short time after the others took off upstairs, that nature poked her in the bladder and she was forced from her table. She was semi-new to the place and didn't have that great of an Idea of where she was going, but she knew that there was a Ladies room in the back. Giving the bar a quick sweep of her eyes, she tried to decide if it was a good idea to leave...She had a bad feeling was all, but that was enough to cause fright or driving panic into someone. being intelligent, she knew enough to scold herself for being childish, and turned to head to the back. She felt odd though, as if she were being watch, turning to look behind her as she skirted the room and made it to the door at the side of the stage. It was conveniently covered with the stage curtians, so they didn't really have to lock it. She whipped the door open at last and went through, closing it behind her. It was not the entrance through which poor Tevy had found her friends but the back, where the girls readied themselves for stage. The light first and foremost in the hallway flickered as it had done since she had gotten to Kelpi. Her eyes shot about in careful observance, Just in case. She slipped down the slim hall whoes edges were lined with racks of costumes and clothes. She never used any of them, she bought her own stuff. Natalie was odd about that, and somewhat stuck up as it was. The sound of her heels clicked sharply on the wooden floor, her breathing even more prominent. She was afraid though she refused to admit it. Besides, the Casino was all too quiet. SHe followed the hall all the way through the main dressing room, that's where the other girls got ready, she had her own dressing room, but no bathroom. They had to share that. She made her way through the shambles it had been left in that evening, as all of the commotion had made for a hastly escape and the girls never liked to clean anyways. It had only been two weeks and she had figured that out quickly. She didn't think much of it though, by this time, her heart was thudding wildly in her chest, even though she knew there was no reason. Not too long there after, she made it to the little closet like wedge of a room that served as their bathroom. It was neat and clean, smelling of patchuli and makeup. She hurried in and closed the door behind her, her slender fingers finding the lock and fastening. She felt a little better now. She went to the bathroom and washed up, checking her makeup and the like. She had calmed down a little by then and felt stupid for rushing like a little girl trying to get into bed before the monster underneath ate her toes. She peered into the mirror at herself. She had never been fond of her looks, but accepted that she was cnsidered beautiful. She figured it was her body more than her face that was appealing, but damn did she have a Voice. This New thought sparked a light hum. An Ancient riddle tune that was sung by children in the time of Earth. It had always been a fixation for her mind, when her father beat her, and through the rest of her life, she would hum it when she was nervous. She hummed now as she turned from her aging face to the door. Reaching out to unlock it, there was a pounding on the door so suddenly that she flew back against the sink, her heels coming from under her and she landed on her ass, knocking the wind out of her and a half strangled scream as well! The pounding persisted for a moment then stopped. Her heart beat had paced up a million notches higher, her eyes wide with Horror staring at the door. It had more than definately caught her off gaurd. Shakes had begun to make their way through her nerves, her legs and arms shuddering from the Adrenalin that ahd so suddenly been pummped into her blood stream. "W-whos there?" She called, unable to hide the shaking in her voice. She listened hard, but nothing came. Still sitting almost beneath the sink "Brass? You asshole, Don't play games like this!" She called almost angrily this time. That could only be who it was, here and ready to play some kind of game with her before he talked her into his bed once more. She wouldn't this time, not after the way he treated her in the bar. And to think she actualy liked him. No sound came from the outside though. "Figures..." She mumbled to herself, picking herself from the floor. The Shoes had to go though, or she probably wouldn't have fell. Bending, she unstrapped them, and looped a finger in the straps so she would not lose them and they wouldn't get stolen. Situationg herself and taking a deep breath, she tried to find a calm that wasn't there. "Are you sure your not out there to give me a heart attack Brass? or is it you Chase? Hello??" SHe called before her fingers found the lock this time. Hesitant, she drew back the latch, the smooth sound of the metal sliding apart barely catching her ear. She was listening beyond. Her breathing was rasping now and her muscles were getting sore from the tension of her fear. The Last part of the lock clicked open and she let it go, her hand moving to the knob. Ever so slowly, she pulled it inward and open, peering out. There was complete blackness on the other side. Someone had turned out the lights. She wondered how the two were connected, first the knock on the door, Well, it was much more than a knock, and now No lights. She was about to slam it shut and wait for a while, But a sudden force was exerted against the slab that seperated her from the outside. Instinct took over and she pushed back at the door with all her strength, her voice raising in incomprehensilble screams of anguish. "HELP!!!!!! Noooooooo, Get AWaY! " She screamed as loud as she could pushing against the door with her entire body weight. Most of it echoed back to her in the small confine of the room. SHe was being attacked! Though she was strong, she was not strong enough and she was soon overcome. The door pushed inward and a tanned hand grabbed her wrist, pulling her through. She didn't give at first, but the sharp edge of a knife appeared in her halo of light and set against the soft skin of her forearm. "You best be comin out here now, or I'll cut yer fuckin arm off, Bitch." The voice was low and menacing in her ears, and she did as she was told. Her voice was lost now in a low concerto of sobs, fear had taken her over. The Door shut behind her, leaving her in the dark with Him. She could tell it was a him because he pulled her body against him and she could feel his uncanny intrest with her thigh. She struggled a little, but the knife came to her throat. Her movement stopped as she feared wholly for her life at that moment. Never had she expected this. Her life swam before her closed eyelids her regrets and happiness showering her with grief for she knew what was to come. All the others were above and she knew that they couldn't hear her no matter how loud she yelled. Callused hands found her dresses front, taking hold of it and ripping it away. SHe thought he had intentions of raping her but instead the cool edge of the knife traced her collar bone down to the crevace between her breasts. She let out a moan of protest and tried to sturggle a little more, but the knife flipped to it's tip and pressed into the velvet skin above her heart. Natalie gasped and sobbed more, letting him touch her as he would, it didn't help to move she had quickly decided through the fog of shock that was settling over her senses. "p-puh-please..." She pleaded through the tears that had begun to wash down her cheeks. "Please don't..." But before she could finish, a loud peal of laughter rose up from his throat, reverbrating through the two of them. "Pwetty Pweeze don't What?" He asked almost as if he didn't know what she was talking about. "Pwetty pweeze don't do this?!" His voice rose even more and the knife dissappeared from her skin. Raising it above his head, he gave it speed then brought it down in a tight arch and plunged it into her chest. It slid between the bones of her ribs and pierced her lung. She cried out in death as she slowly drowned on her own blood. Dropping her to the floor, she lay there bleeding from her chest and mouth, gurgling like a child at hit's mothers breast. She was more than half gone by the time her killer turned the lights back on. It did not tak long for her lungs to fill with her own blood and the Shining Star Natalie Cabarette... was no more. |

OOC: Oh man... Not only do I feel bad for Natalie, but also for whoever finds her! *shifty eyes* IC: Keene Jada kept his hand wrapped somewhat tightly around the sorcerer's throat as he growled down at the man. "Be my guest. And we haven't even started the interrogation yet, Brass," he said gruffly with a slight grin shining in his eyes. He wanted to outright kill this man for the girls that worked the bar... for Tevy, who'd had to find them. But he knew that if he gave in to his feral wants, Brass, Chase and Kiri (and himself for that matter) would not get the information they needed, and therefore, would not be able to stop this from occuring again - next time with Tevy as the possible target! Baring his bright white teeth, overly-pointed canines and all, at the man, he growled down at the sorcerer. "You'd better answer every question truthfully or else I rip out your throat." ~*~ Tevy wanted to shower, wanted to bathe so as to rid her body of the filth seeing those dead bodies had coated her body, mind and soul with... but she couldn't. Something wasn't right. Something wasn't right at all. Looking to her mother, she frowned. The woman looked even more scared than Tevy felt. Pulling her mother into a hug, she let the woman weep for a few moments before pushing away from her so she could hand her a rag from her apron to wipe her tears and nose with. "I'll be right back," Tevy whispered, standing as her mother began to dab at her face with the rag. Turning, Tevy slipped out of the bathroom, closing the door behind her. She scanned the living room for anything she could use as a weapon. Near the door, sat a small bowl for keys and the like. Making her way over there, she pulled out a small, hand held canister and then exited her and her mom's suite, making sure to lock the door on the way out. Looking left and right, she made sure no one was coming from either direction before darting to the left, towards the back staircase. If Keene Jada and the others were scanning the hotel, she figured they'd be on the main staircase. Her guess seemed to be right, as the staircase was empty from where she was all the way to the bottom. Pushing the door open on the ground floor, the first thing she noticed was the darkness that enveloped everything. The only bit of light came from far away, where Tevy knew the stage was. The curtain must be open some. Squinting, Tevy slowly made her way down the hall, paranoid and wary of every step she took. Tevy's whole body stiffened as she heard what sounded like a female scream and then a thump. Her fear told her to flee - to run all the way back upstairs and hide behind a bolt locked door - but her instincts told her that someone, most likely a co-worker or friend, was in trouble. Instinct won. Racing forward, Tevy stopped when she noticed the bathroom light on. Afraid of what she might find in there, she moved to it slowly. Something on the floor in front of her made her trip and stop. As she fell forward, she braced herself with hands, which instantly felt wet as if she were standing in a puddle. There was an odd smell to this liquid - not urine, not water, not any alcohol she could think of. It was a smell she'd never really smelled before. She knew what it was. Whose it was, though, was a different question. As her eyes finally adjusted to the dim light of the bathroom, she saw the familiar face of one Natalie Cabarette. She was about to scream when she heard rustling a short ways away from her and she quickly backed up and out of the light of the bathroom. Clutching the canister tightly in her hand, she readied herself. "Who's there?" a male voice hissed. Tevy kept quiet, readying the canister at eye level, as she did not recognize the voice. A faint hiss emitted from in front of her and a match lit as a man she couldn't really make out, but had a gut feeling she didn't know tried to see around him while lighting a cigarette. He was only about three feet away from her - too close for comfort considering what had happened to Emily and Sarah and now Natalie. Her finger pressed down on the canister button which released the pepper spray in front of her. The liquid hit the fiery match, spraying fire and pepper spray up into the man's eyes. He screamed in pain, dropping the match and his cigarette in the process. Stopping the pepper spray, Tevy grabbed the man by the shoulder with her free hand and brought her knee up and into his groin. As she brought her leg back down, she slammed her heel into the top of his foot. To top it all off, her fist - fingers wrapped tightly around the pepper spray canister - collided with the man's face and she heard the sickening crunch of his nose breaking. Knowing she would have a good headstart against the man now, Tevy dashed down the hall and into the main room, without thinking to check for any of his buddies. Thankfully, the room was empty when she arrived. Racing towards her bar, she leapt up onto it belly first. Swinging her legs over, too, she didn't care about the noise she made as a few glasses and half-full bottles of liquor hit the floor and shattered. Hopping lightly over the mess, she crouched down and scrambled over to her usual standing position at the bar and grabs the present Keene Jada had given her as a birthday present two birthdays ago, right after he'd revealed himself. She pulled the fighting claws onto her hands, tightening the straps so that they would not loosen were she to get into a physical fight with them... which she fully intended to do. She had to go avenge Natalie's death and she had a good idea of where the singer's killer was. With a low growl, Tevy stood to her full height again, a dangerous fire burning in her eyes. She hopped up onto the back counter, spun and cleared the bartop in one fluid motion. Landing in a crouching position, she wasted no time in hurrying backstage again to find the poor man who she could hear moaning, groaning and fumbling around blindly. In a few moments' time, the noise stopped completely and an enraged, female shout echoed throughout the ground floor of the casino. |

(( OOC: Wow! I must say, that took me forever to read all of this thread up to the current point. Casinos interest me somewhat, so I figured I'd see what was going on with this "rising star" anyway. Now she's dead. Peachy! There goes her career, I'd say. I like the murder twist. Adds flavor, no doubt. However, as I was reading the various posts, several questions came to my mind, so if you don't mind me butting in like this, I'd like to take a moment to ask them. Ahem: 1) Just how far is Luestrife (Marsotp in particular) advanced technologically? I read the links to the continent's history and most of the chips seem to fall into place except for this. The Casino Kelpie has such conveniences as elevators, light bulbs, soda hoses, and refrigerators. The references to modern pop-culture such as "Shirley Temple" drinks and the choice of songs also causes me to raise a brow. But mostly I'm wondering how the humans who settled in Marsotp got the resources to recreate these things?? 2) How come various other creatures seem to be so surprised at seeing humans? (Morag and Rose's reactions upon seeing Davyn) If there are cities like Marsotp on the same continent as the planet's capital, wouldn't someone know that humans aren't so extinct? 3) Where is this murder storyline going? Is there a motive involved or is that still a secret? If you don't have a particular motive established, I have a vague plot that could be employed that would overshadow the events of several other threads and storylines. But this is only a suggestion, of course and I won't do anything without permission. Anyway, my apologies again for interrupting and sounding annoying, but I ask these things out of curiosity, not criticism. You're doing a great job here as far as I'm concerned! If you would like help playing the bad guys, though, I would be more than happy to oblige. Although not knowing how many are involved or what the motive is would be a slight setback. Just lemme know. ))P.S.-- Cone of Cold. Hehehe. Davyn would be proud at Keene Jada's resourceful use of this spell! ^_~ |

OOC: *huggles her silver dragon friend* Mmmm... I heart you, Keene Jada! LoL... *coughs* Anyhoo... Uhm, in response to your questions............ 1) I think Marsotp is like, modern day... sort of... I don't really know... Ask Gwen and/or Vic. LoL 2) The area of this casino is mostly human, whereas the area where the thread with Morag, etc. started was the elven area. Not to mention, Morag has never LEFT that area, so she's never really seen a human and around where she's from (which is where Rose is from, too, I'm guessing... ??) humans are quite rare indeed. 3) The murder thread... Honestly, I just wanted to add a sick twist and a bit of a plot to the thread. I have no clue what's going on anymore, as I do not know details as to who/what the people who killed the tenders (and Natalie, too!) are and who they work for... not to mention WHY they're doing what they're doing. So again, ask them. LoL. Not really sure why I decided to post this as I don't think I gave you a single answer to your questions other than "Ask Gwen, etc". LoL. Ah well. It looks like I wrote a lot to people who just glance at these types of things. WooT! ~HK |

LOL, you guys make me laugh really Loud, then I get in teouble for being up to early. LOL You did a fine Job explaining Sabre, ANd I will add to that as well. 1.Marsopt, Luestrife is CLOSE to Modern Day. Lightbulbs are a comon thing in Aronia, as is Electric. That's because the people that created the generators, water wheels, turbines, and windmills, saw the direction thay Earth, as we know it was heading, and said..."Fuck That!" So they stole the pattern for modern convenience and now have electricity. There are other conviences like Microphones, elevators and the like, because certian Ideas, or things were saved over many generations, or recreated in a place that is fit to do it. Like Trevisan. It is By far the Most Advanced place in Aronia. And the technoiogy there is Locked Down because Gwenefiere is the Queen of ENdymion and she will not allow her world to be overtaken by things that make people lazy, like cars, television, and stuff like that. The Male rulers of Luestrife and Valyssop, know better than to do it as well. Stefan Lockshorn, the King of Luestrife is a human, but he dosen't want to fall under the wrath of the others. Soooo, the stuff in Luestrife isn;t all that ahead, but pretty new to Aronia. It has yet to spread. You must remember, this world is not in the medival age anymore, it is rather in the future, but preservation has kept the world virgin and alive Plus If there was too much advancement, It would not fit together in a World Atmosphere like this. Lol I have to say, for the different Genres inplay here, it all melds together pretty well, and that was the point. I never expected it to work so well though. 2. Alright, Topic Two. If you lived in a world, where there were no vehicles, only your legs, a occasional dragon, horses and magick to get you rom point a to point be, you would see very little of the world you live in. If you have to walk everywhere, you won't want to go very far from home, and frankly, you really would never know what ahppens outside of your little point of perspective. SOme places have more humans than others, some have none. Plus, the Elves HATE humans. There is a big long story to that that I still have to write out. Basically though, When the Great Crossing came, between Earth and Aronia, Vorhen flipped his lid. He thought that he and his race were superior in size, when Humanity greatly outweighed them. And When Lillith was forced to spread the people out over the world, Some chose to go to Valyssop, because Elves! Wooo! Ya know? If all of a sudden you discovered in your world, that it wasn't the only one, and a world that unconciously was connected to yours was full of creatures you grew up reding about in fairy tales, You would so wanna go there!
