Forgotten: No one can escape. A great flash emerged above all of Aronia leaving each with short term memory loss. Years lost to the fog of amnesia. Can no one recall? That appears to be the case. Whom or what is responsible? Panic has stricken the globe. Will civilization collapse? What will emerge from the reset? Only time will tell. To each citizen of Aronia from the Global Gazette, we wish all luck.
Welcome to Aronia. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Chase looked up a little bit when he heard that Tevy was leaving, and he looked over at Kiri.

"Keep an eye on her, will you? She's better than most at taking care of herself, but - "

"Just to be sure, I know."

She finished his sentence again, and he smiled slightly. She smiled a little back, and for a moment he thought he caught a blush on her cheeks. Before he could tease her about it, though, she put her hand on his shoulder lightly and stood, brushing his cheek with her fluffy tail as she usually did, just to tease him.

"Don't get too lonely without me."

"You kidding? It's lonlier with you here."

They both grinned a bit, and she walked out, keeping a bit of a distance behind Tevy and her friend, but... it was exceedingly odd that the girl's mother had shown up so quickly... and that bothered both of them. Something seemed off, but even if it wasn't, they had to protect their personnel. Chase pulled a black curtain over the bodies, then he stood and walked back over to where Brass was standing. Before he could say anything, though, one of the men ran up and whispered something to him, since several customers were having to be escorted out still. When the man was done speaking, Chase narrowed his eyes and whispered something back, harshly. The man ran off, and Chase looked to Brass.

"We've got something."

Kiri ran back over, looking flustered.

"So you just put Allie on Tevy right after you told me t-"

Allie was another of the female bouncers who usually worked the same shift as Tevy, so the two would know each other well enough. Chase cut her off though.

"Al got something, we need to get Crimson and head up to the third floor, west wing."

"But wh-"

"We think it was one of the other casinos, but that's yet to be confirmed, get Crimson and meet me there."

She was about to say something, thought better of it, then she nodded and ran off. Chase clapped Brass on the shoulder.

"Gonna come or not?"

With that, he ran for the stairs across the way. The owner would follow, he was sure.

OOC: I emailed this to Vic, but I guess the message didn't get out to everyone else... In Tevy's bio, I'm pretty sure I wrote that her mom works at the casino... If I didn't write it there, I'm sorry. She's a card dealer. So... yes... I'm sorry if this causes problems IC for anything. If it does, please let me know and I'll take it out of the bio and she can become a suspect or something.

Have a nice day.

ooc: it's still odd lol because noone but the four of them there should actually know what has happened, the word hasn't been put out. So we can always let that account for the oddness of her arriving so quickly

OOC: I didn't view it as being very odd since I made note in my post that Keene Jada, instead of going instantly to Tevy, went the opposite way to get her mom. Her scream was very much audible to him and was very obviously one of fear. While everyone else went flying over the bar to check on her, he remained calm and decided "What would a girl want most when something happens that makes her scream like that?... Something/one comforting and familiar." He knows Tevy and her mom are close. Hell, he was Tevy's cat for a few years, so he's lived with the two women for a nice-sized portion of Tevy's life.

I think something's wrong with my brain lately because no matter what I do in all the threads, I'm wrong. I don't mind being wrong occasionally, but when after every post someone doesn't understand something I wrote or interperets it in a way I wasn't intending, I start to feel a little awkward. Perhaps I should take a break for awhile. *shrugs*

OOC: it's cool here, chase and brass are both just dumb men anyways...lol Let them get all suspicious and make asses of themselves! Hey, it keeps everyone on their toes, so sometimes its good to get questions out there. And I agree that you shouldn't (take a break...what would we do w/o you???) either!

OOC: Unfortunately, I'm going to have to take a small break of sorts. I just moved into my boyfriend and I's apartment yesterday and as of right now, we don't have internet access or my computer that is internet accessible. LoL. I'll be able to come over to my mom's house to use it until Friday, but then she's moving, so we'll have to cart the compy (and desk, too!) off to our apartment. I think we're going to call the cable company today to see if they have any good deals on cable and internet. :D If all goes as planned, I'll be posting a little slow, but I'll still be here. ^_^

Brass nodded in competence when he was told of something being found. Atleast they had something. Hearing the conversation of the possibility of another casino being involved, Brass knew it wasn't just 'another casino.' There were none like Kelpie. Compared to his casino, all others were just bar room scams. And to attack his bartenders, someone was watching. He had tried to keep his affection of Tevy concealed, but Brass spent a large amount of his time in the lounge, during Tevy's shifts. He had hoped 'mingling' with the female population would have thrown someone off of the truth. Fear and parinoia were beginning to set in. Brass clenched his jaw and followed Chase to the stairs.

OOC: Yay for you moving in with you bf! It's hard though...trust me...lol I hope everything goes smoothly. Thanks for letting us know!

Keene Jada kept his left arm wrapped securely around Tevy's midsection as he and her mother escorted her up the main staircase to the first level of hotel rooms. Their suite was on the sixth level, so Keene Jada gently led Tevy over to the elevator. On the other side of Tevy, her mother gripped her daughter's hand tightly, her eyes darting from Tevy to the hall around them constantly as if she were scared someone would attack them.

"You're safe," Keene Jada said, his deep voice gentle and resonating with compassion.

"What happened down there?!" Tevy's mother hissed.

"I'll tell you when we get home."

The trio stepped into the elevator, Tevy's mother followed by Keene Jada and Tevy herself. When the elevator finally beeped and the door slid open to the let them out onto the sixth floor, they all stepped out silently. The walk down the hall to their suite was equally silent. As soon as Tevy's mother unlocked the door and then closed and locked it again behind the other two, she exploded.

"Tell me what the hell happened down there, Keene Jada! You promised! Why is my Tevy so scared she can't even talk?!"

"Marie... Please, calm yourself..." Keene Jada, managing to completely keep his cool, led Tevy over to the couch and sat her down. He then motioned for Marie to take a seat as well. As soon as the older woman sat down, Keene Jada began.

"It seems that two of the other bartenders downstairs were murdered sometime tonight. Tevy had the unfortunate fate of being the one to find the poor girls..."

Marie's hads flew up to her mouth in obvious shock. Tears filled her eyes and she unclapped her hands from her face. "So you mean to say they could have killed my Tevy?!" she asked, her voice a high-pitched shriek. Her arms flew out wildly, wrapping around Tevy's neck. This seemed to bring the young bartender out of her shock.

"Mum?... Mum?..." Marie's didn't budge, but rather tightened her grip, continuing to sob onto Tevy's shoulder. "Mum..." Tevy coughed, a sure sign that her mom's grip was too tight. Marie slowly, but surely let go of her daughter's neck and leaned back some so that she could hear what her daughter had to say. "Where's Brass?..." Tevy asked, looking around blankly.

"He's downstairs doing his job, honey."

Tevy's eyes found the familiar form of her dragon companion and best friend, Keene Jada. "Did you see them, Keene? Those were my friends!"

"I'm well aware of that, dear, but screaming at me isn't going to help matters."

"We've got to go help them find the son of a bitch who killed Sarah and Emily!"

Tevy stood up quickly and made a break for the door.

"You're not going anywhere," Keene Jada said sternly.

"Come on! We have to go help!"

"Alena Tevy Sabiir!"

"What?!"

"Think for just one god damned second would you, child?!" This got Tevy's attention. Keene Jada never let his emotions show, especially his anger. And he never called Tevy a child. Tevy's eyes brimmed with tears and Keene Jada's face softened instantly. "Oh, Tevy, I'm sorry..." he whispered, shocked his ownself that he'd let his emotions get the better of him. If it was one thing he was passionate about though, it was protecting his friend, Tevy. He'd known the girl since birth, after all. Putting a hand over his face, Keene Jada hung his head, a few strands of silvery hair falling out of place.

"Come on, Tevy, dear..." her mother purred, slowly moving from the couch to retrieve her daughter from the front door. "Why don't we go lie down for awhile? We've both been working all night and could use a break. Perhaps you'd like a shower?"

"Yes. A shower sounds nice, Mum..." Tevy mumbled, hanging her head as well. She let her mother wrap her arms around her shoulders and lead her past Keene Jada, towards the bathroom. "Keene... It's okay. I understand. I'm sorry." The bathroom door closed, leaving Keene Jada alone in the living room for a few quiet moments. Sucking in a deep breath, he buried his emotions again, hiding them from the rest of the world.

"I'm going to go help in the search. I'll be back in a few hours to check in. Tevy, just call me if you need anything, alright?"

Closing the front door behind him, Keene Jada unbuttoned the longcoat around his body, letting it flow behind him now as he made his way back towards the stairs. As he was going down, he spotted a set of bodies on their way up.

"Brass. Chase. I'd like to offer my services to you in your search for the killer, if that's alright."

Chase stopped as he ran up the stairs, and raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah I figured, what took you so damn long? Go with Kiri, she's going to circle around.'

He pointed to the door the neko was just running through, then he motioned to brass and took off running again. He knew they didn't have much time to close in around the bastards... how had they gotten past everything, anyways? He was really going to have to look into this closely, someone had either been slacking, or they had turned tail on him, and if there was one thing that could make the cool tempered Chase angry, it was people betraying him. He came up the stairs to see two men dash out, then, with astonished looks on their faces, they tried to turn the other way, but Chase pounced in that instant, leaping and twisting in the air, actually kicking them both in the side of the head before he landed on one knee, and the two dropped, bleeding slightly from their temples, one from a crushed nose. Chase stood, and dusted his knee off.

"Next one's yours. I trust you brought something, or at least some skill... why do I get the feeling this goes deeper than two incompetant thugs?"

He was about to turn, when he saw a glow, and had to leap to the side, hitting on his shoulder, and rolling, to avoid a fireball that suddenly lashed through the hall. He pushed his hair back calmly.

"Oh. That could be a good reason... where the hell are Kiri and the dragon...?"
