Whom or what is responsible? Panic has stricken the globe. Will civilization collapse? What will emerge from the reset? Only time will tell. To each citizen of Aronia from the Global Gazette, we wish all luck.

Brass mulled over a few drinks in his head, nothing seemed to satisfy what he was looking for.

"Surprise me," He replied to Tevy, "Nothing too fruity however, I've got a taste for something else that is sweet." Brass smirked. Even if he failed at scoring the neko, there were plenty of other women flooding the casino walls. Either way, Brass had work to do and a little drink would make his rounds that much more exciting. Overhearing the conversation between the two bouncers, Brass did not comment much. Understanding someone's methods was as important as having your own. Brass was on top of his game, or atleast he tried. His buisness was all day every day, no off time for Brass. Any slip could result in many unwanted loss.

Tevy's face held an innocent smile; micheiviousness tugged at the corners of her lips, however. Without a word, she turned back to Brass. "Hmm... Nothing too fruity, but not too strong..."

Humming quietly to herself, she turned away from the bar and began to browse the shelves. Gin. Gin was good and not fruity whatsoever. But what to mix it with... Tevy smiled and pulled the Gin down, along with a small bottle marked "Lime". Putting those on the counter, she rummaged through her icebox for one last ingredient.

Filling the cup with ice, she then poured a small amount of Gin in, along with some of the liquid from the icebox. Finally, she added a few drops of the lime, just for good taste.

"It's a Dragonfly. And it's on the house. Try it and see whatcha think." Her eyes gleamed with anticipation as she awaited Brass' reaction. Either he'd hate it or he'd like it. She hoped it would be the latter.
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.
Kaylee: He looks kinda mean.
Wash: That's sorta what I meant.
Simon: This must be what going mad feels like.
Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me...

"Yeah, well at least you're learning, dear..."

Kiri kissed Chase on the cheek, and then walked off, letting her fluffy tail brush against him as she left, moving gracefully, seductively among the crowd - especially the men. She, above all the other bouncers, was the unkown threat - the apparent floozy that was, in point of fact, as deadly or more so than any of the other bouncers. Chase laughed as she left, and shook his head, turning back to his fake drink. he was used to her teasing him, an age old game, since theyd met, really. Never went any further though - they were too alike. he just kept an eye on the happenings around him, before he looked back to Brass.

"profits still up?"

Brass sipped the drink and smiled. The bite of the Gin and Lime teased his tongue the same way the taste of a woman did.

“Absolutely delicious.” He smiled at Tevy with his eyes as well as his lips. “The name is superb as well.” Brass sipped from the glass again.

“You should add it to the drink menu, just easy up on the Gin.” Brass winked “More cost effective and our patrons will have to drink more for the desired high.” Chases inquiry about the monetary situation caught Brass’s attention.

“Profit is an understatement.” Brass motioned to the east wall, which was adorned with feathers and posters of three scantily clad women. Their names were printed below each of their pictures. Jasmine Belle, Rikita, And Natalie Cabarette. “The new stage was constructed las week, expenses came out of my endless budget.” Looking around the cocktail lounge, Brass’s eyes followed after Kiri.

I see that even a professional man such as yourself, Chase, falls prey to his manhood.” Brass smiled “Of course I understand why, she is quite…” Brass paused, he didn’t know how dominantly, Chase would claim Kiri, and rather not have his best bouncer turn on him. “…desirable.”

Brass sipped again, savoring the sharp citrus flavor, and awaited Chase’s reply. If Chase wasn’t interested, then the necco may be available for an after hour conference.

The lounge was fairly packed that evening, making it a little difficult to get to the back room to change. She made it though and with little trouble. It seemed that someone was always starting in with her. Her sister once said it was because she was full of herself, but why should'nt she be, she was after all gorgeous. Natalie slipped easily into the silver skin-tight gown she had chose for the evening. It was the end of the week, so she chose something a little more scintilating for her audience. She hummed the of folk song, she would preform, trying not to forget the words and embarass herself.

On her way in, she had seen Brass, the little perv, but he did not see her. She guessed that he wouldn't have cared if he did. She herself didn't care, and pondered why she pondered such. A tinkle of soprano laughter escaped her lips, and died in the muffling room. The dressing room was small indeed, but offered a full-length mirror and two closets. Plus on top of it all, it was her's only. Many years of sharing and being robbed made her greatful, in a wierd sick way. Natalie finished her makeup, which was a little too dark, but made her eyes piercing and stood, wrapping a lacy shawl around her shoulders. Taking one last look in the mirror, she headed out the door.

She moved easily through the back rooms of the club, finally reaching the stage curtians. The announcer stood looking impatiently in her direction.

"ReadyMadame?" He sopke gently to her though his eyes said differently.

"If I wasen't do you think I would be standing here?" She whipped the man with her tongue, pushing him out to the stage.

"May I present the lovely and talented Miss Natalie Cabarette!" She could hear him easily through the huge old velvet curtians. The band at the side of the stage played a demo as she stepped out into the lights. A few colored bulbs lit the landing around her with a pink haze. She smiled sexily at the crowd and motioned the band to start playing.

The band consisted of a good drum player, a good string player, and a couple of equal flutes, which played their hearts out for her. The quartet beat out introduction and she took a deep breath and began to sing.

" You and me, we had an opportunity..." Strutting forward, she swung her hips, the material sparkling like pink diamonds in the fushcia light. "...I'm here to tell you baby I know how to wreck your world. So dont call me baby! You've got some learning baby, I'll never do, you know I don't belong to youu, So don't call me baby!" The audience cheered greedily as she played the part of the old song, a song her mother had sang. She laughed inside at them all. The rest of her set went well, the band ending with a delightful flourish. SHe curtsied and bowed, before heading off stage and to the bar for a drink before she sang an even older song.

She moved with grace of a woman who had spent much of her life on her feet, but slightly exagerated the swing in her hips as she approached the bar. Brass was still there along with a goofylooking fellow and the lucious creature Tevy. Natalie was more interested in men, but appreciated the womans beauty. She prayed the woman would never fall in the clutches of Brass like she had. But what could she say, except he was good, and he paid her even better. Stepping up to him, she , grabbed his upper thigh, blew in his ear, then took a seat on the other side of his friend.

"evening Tevy, Darling May I have a Shirley Temple? Im dying of thirst." Natalie smiled sweetly at the woman, hanning herself with her hand.

OOC: I thought I'd just move my post over here? Since it all seems to be happening at the same time

Chase nodded a little bit, and smiled, looking back at his employer.

"Ah, but you know the old adage - you can do anything you set your mind to when you have determination, power, and limitless resources."

He saw how the man's eyes followed Kiri, and laughed softly, then louder at his next comment.

"Professional? I'll have to take that as a compliment I suppose, certainly no one has ever called ME that before... and as... "desirable" as she is, I'd watch myself if I were you."

He laughed a little bit, he and Kiri were close, and always flirted, but that was as far as it went... for now, perhaps, or perhaps that was just the way it would be. he wasn't too concerned, he had had his share and she hers, just not yet of each other, was all. And they both had a similar philosophy when things were as interesting as they were between the two of them - don't push it, you'll ruin the fun. So they just played with one another for now, like cats after the same prey - more literally in her case.

"If she heard that she would smile, very sweetly, and lean towards you so you could see into her shirt, and things would follow, and she would seem very receptive, and then she would wink, stand, and vanish. Trust me I've seen her do it."

She was a shameless tease... far from it - she was proud of her ability to mess with men. The actual genuine attraction they had stemmed from the fact that she had never been able to manipulate him - though she would never admit it, and he would never bring it up. Until it was convenient. As the dancer finished, he smiled a little bit and clapped, she was his favorite of the three, maily because she wasn't such a bitch offstage. Though he hadn't actually talked to her, since so far no men had made a violent move at her. Likely because, again, she wasn't such a bitch.

"Good evening, Miss Danielle. Lovely performance."

He smiled politely as she sat down next to him, chuckling at what she did to Brass - another that obviously knew him well enough to taunt the man. Good, he hated being the only employee that would mess with him. Apart from Tevy, of course, and she was less obvious about it. He opened his mouth to say something else when a man walked up behind him.

"You're Chase...?"

Chase sighed, and turned to face the angry looking man and his three companions, then smiled amicably.

"I was just about to introduce myself to the lady, but yes. I'm Chase. Is there a problem here?"

The man fumed.

"You're the one that made me lose all my money at poker three days ago!"

Chase rubbed his temple, exasperated. Alchohol and gambling were, as always, a volitile mix.

"If you are impliyng I cheated..." because he hadn't at this particular game...

"I am!"

"Then perhaps we should take this someplace where we will not interrupt the other people, and I do not wish to fight in front of the ladies."

"We'll do it here and now, so everyone can see you lose!"

The man tried to throw a punch, but Chase kicked him in she shin, and he hopped back from the bar, letting out a strangled yell. Chase sighed again, and looked to Tevy, then Danielle.

"My deepest apologies... one moment please."

He stood, and the man let out a yell, then threw a punch again. Chase turned slightly to the side, and clapped his hand around the man's forearm as he punched, then pulled. The man was thrown almost instantly off balance, and fell towards Chase, who turned back, twisting his arm and bringing his arm up. There was a cracking sound as the man's wrist bones twisted around, and then his embow smashed into his jaw. Chase let go, and the man hit the ground, hard. He shook his head.

"See? Drink too much and you get yourself into trouble."

The man's three friend's, obviously also drunk, growled, and encircled him. Three other bouncers were closing in, but Chase shook his head slightly. He also noticed Kiri laughing to herself from across the room as the frightened patrons backed off, and Chase gave her a wink, before the first one attacked and he had to act. He relaxed his muscles, dropping one foot back only slightly, in an aikido posture, hands at his sides until the first fist came at him, and his hands moved so fast they were almost impossible to see. He grabbed the fist, twisted it around, and turned, flipping the man head over heels to crash into the floor. The other two attacked at almost the same instant, but Chase grabbed on, reversed his momentum, and to the man's great surprise, he only succeeded in punching his friend square in the face. he didnt have long to worry about it though, because Chase's open handed punch across his face knocked him to the ground, and a sweep kick dropped the other man as he stumbled. The people around cheered, and a few laughed, and Chase stood, then took a bow, and looked subtley to one of the other bouncers. A few uniformed men came along soon, and took the men up. They would be deposited in the nearest gutter. Chase sat back down, and looked between Tevy, Brass, and Danielle.

"Which, of course, is why I take non-alchoholic drinks, usually... Sorry that our first formal meeting involved me having to do that, Miss Danielle, a pleasure to meet you."

Tevy's eyes moved across the room as her ears finally recognized the sweet soprano voice of one Natalie Cabarette. She smiled and hummed quietly to the tunes as she continued serving new patrons their drinks and taking away empty glasses from those who had either left or wanted more. When Natalie was done, Tevy frowned slightly. She enjoyed Natalie's sets - she played songs that Tevy knew - ones that her mother used to sing to her when she was little. They had a few twists to them now, of course, but that was only because Natalie had to add little sexy moves, she figured.

Her mind drifted off to a fantasy world where she, like Natalie, sang on the Kelpie stage. She would be the greatest star of them all to shine on that stage and people would pay her big bucks to shake her hips a little. A light, female voice entered her ears, which brought her attention back to reality. She didn't get very many female customers, so it was a change from the usual deep rumbles of request from the men.

Her eyes swept over to where she'd heard the voice. It was over near Brass and Chase... it was Natalie! Tevy put on a smile and nodded her head to Natalie's request. Moving quickly around the bar, she grabbed all of the supplies to make the drink. She knew every nook and cranny behind this bar so well, she could probably tend it blindfolded. The drink didn't take long to make and in about a minute, she had it set down, cherry on a toothpick and all, in front of the singer.

"Here," she said, pulling something out from below the view of the counter. "This should help better." She produced a small, folded paper fan. "Got it from the kiddy section, so don't expect it to last too long, but it's better than just using your hand. I know how it gets hot in this place." She grinned slightly and put the fan on the counter next to Natalie's Shirley Temple. "You goin' back for another set later, too?"

Keene Jada's facial expression caught the corner of her eye. It was a somewhat saddened look. He was out of water. She chuckled beneath her breath and filled a glass with some ice water, refusing to leave the section of bar where Natalie was before her response. Instead, she called out to Keene Jada before sending the water his way. He grinned almost childishly as he caught the sliding glass and the bowed his head to her in thanks.

Chase's new little group of admirers as she called people like these, caught her attention next. She, along with half the occupants of the casino it seemed, watched the fight, avidly making sure none would fly over the bar and ruin any of her stuff. Alcohol was sticky and glass was sharp... not to mention, some of the things here she didn't have extra of, so she had to be careful. Nothing harmed her bar during the fight and she let out a breath at the same time as Keene Jada. She didn't have to hear or look at him to know that he'd been paying close attention to the fight to make sure nothing came near Tevy. When Chase returned to the bar after his small escapade, she smiled to him and sent him a knowing grin.
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.
Kaylee: He looks kinda mean.
Wash: That's sorta what I meant.
Simon: This must be what going mad feels like.
Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me...

Natalie smiled at Chase as she sat beside him. He was a cute man, making it easier to sit next to him. Holding out her hand, she addressed him for the first time.

" The name is Natalie, Love. Tis a pleasure, that's all mine." Her tongue accented the words teasingly, as her voice usualy did, but she layed it on him a little heavily, before she turned to Tevy. "Thank you Darling, Could I have you add another half-shot here? I think it's going to be a long evening.." Lifing the fan, she wafted herself gently with it. Her actions said southern bell, but she was far from that...

The sound of cracking bone brought her back from her memories, forcing her head around to see. She was not fazed by fights, she was somewhat of a fighter herself and would defend herself if she had to. She did not often need to though, as she had gained a reputation for being one mean bitch. The look of agony on the man's face, pleased some carnal fantasy of hers, gaining Chase a new friend. SHe liked it when a mad broke bones...as long as he didnt TRY on her, then he would be the one with broken bones. Turning back to Tevy, she smiled and nodded.

"Yes, Actual two more...Do you dance Tevy dear? You are certianly beautiful. I could teach you some things." Though her voice held a bit of a sexual tone, she would never try anything on the woman, only befriend her. As women need to stick together. Looking once more to Brass, she giggled.

"And then you could tame his ass."

Chase nodded a little bit, and sipped at his drink, then sighed a little.

"Perhaps I should stop faking that I'm actually drinking. Tevy, what's non alchoholic that doesnt want to pretend that it is?"

He pushed his fake martini away and looked back up at the empty stage, yawning a little bit, before he cracked his neck and shook his head.

"No one can tame the boss, it's sort of his job to be... untamed. Or maybe that's my job I get the two confused sometimes, apart from that he makes more money and I have to hit a lot more people than he does."

Of course, hitting people was what he was good at. And sarcasm. Brass on the other hand was exceptionally good at being pretty and making deals, oh and getting women into his bed. Chase felt someone staring and looked around for Kiri, but she wasnt there. Odd. So he leaned against the bar a little bit, listening to Natalie and Tevy talking. he doubted Natalie understood that to dance was Tevy's dream... he hoped the poor girl wasnt going to get her hopes up only to have them shattered..."
