Marcus Darholde drank frome his cup of wine and relaxed back in his throne. His soldiers outside celebrated ye another military victory for his forces and the plunder that was generated. He took this moment to relax, he always allowed himself a few minutes of quiet before he sorted out the plunder. Usually he took very little, what little did interest him he kept, the rest went to the treausury with the remainder going to his men.

"Get her!" His tent door flew open and a captive Angel ran in with a sword at the ready, her white robes spoke of her purity and the bruis on her face and the torn clothing...

His men came in and with a wave of his hand they stopped, she stood before him heaving, she was malnurished from the siege and out of breath from her plight.

"Monster...your men would rape me while my family watched!" The two men behind her suddenly grew quiet and still...the guilty parties.

"Would rape? They did not succeed?" She nodded.

"I grabbed their sword to kill you..." She swung at him and his gauntleted hand caught the sword in midstroke. He twisted the sword away and backhanded her to the floor. He turned his attention to the guards and frowned.

"You know my rules, you know my disdain for rapist, yet you attacked this woman." The two looked at each other weighing their options to run or not, they might make it out of camp...they ran.

Marcus waved his hand and the two men crumpled to the floor, he looked down at the Angel and gave her a dagger.

"They almost took your honor, a suitable punishment might be taking what they most dear, so their punishment is in your hands. Attack me again however and I will throw you back with the other slaves." He motioned for his Man-At-Arms and he approaced.

"See that she and any surviving family members of hers are taken care of, her family are NOT to be sold into slavery and see that she has some new clothes, I think ive taken a liking to her..."

Some people give and forgive;others get and forget.
People are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges.
Happiness consists in activity--it is a running stream, not a stagnant pool.
The way to be happy is to make others happy.
The best gifts are tied with heartstrings.

The beggar smelled like bodily fluids, the guard waved a hand in front of his face and gagged.

"Spare some change sirah?"

"Get away..." The beggar lunged forwards quickly stabbing the man and covering his mouth at the same time, the beggar gently let the guard down to the ground and whiped the blade on the guards tunic.

"Ahh but I cannot good sir, I must stay here for awhile longer...lord Darkholdes will must be done." He picked up the set of keys from the guards waist and unlocked the front door to the small house, inside a meeting of rebels was currently in session and Lord Darkholde promised a 1,000 gold a head that was brought before him, Darkholde always kept his word so the assassin did not mind doing thos jobs that were...messy.

He entered the door and stepped into the dining room where the eight men sat, the assassin threw off the beggars cloak and stood in his finery. The men all stopped and stared, the eight reached for their own swords but they stopped and grabbed for their throats.

"Mepunsa poison, placed in wine it is very potent. You really should be more carefull whom you trust with your wine deliveries, no telling what can happen. In about twenty seconds you will die, I will then cut off your heads. Oh...lord Darkholde sends his regards." The assassin sat down on an empty chair and reached out for the roast beef on the table, he poured a glass of wine for himself and thanked his lucky stars he was immune from Mepunsa poison.

"Who...who are...you...?" the last of the conspirators gasped.

"Mark is my name, Assassin extrodinaire, I would give you my card but in five seconds you will not need cards or anything else for that matter..."

The Angel stood away from Marus, but he did not care. She was quickly eating the meal his people set out for her and kept reaching for the dagger as if to be sure it was there. The tent opened and a young Angel ran into the tent.

"Rachel!" The Angel cried out throwing her arms around the young angel. There were tears and cries and for once Marcus found that effect was not...annoying.

"Sarah! You...I thought you were...dead..." Rachel was sobbing and wiped away some tears, Sarah brought her over to the food table and watched as she ate.

The man at the door cleared his throat and Marcus looked up from his papers.

"The only family member left alive sir, we even searched the slave pens three times thinking another member might have escaped, so far nothing." Marcus waved the man away and went back to writing dispatches.

"MEANIE!" Marcus looked up with amusement as Rachel threw a chicken bone at him, Sarah tried to calm her down but the little Angel walked forwards with her wings outstreatched.

"Meanie? Truly I am insulted, but what have you come to call me...meanie?" Marcus asked with some amusement.

"You destroyed my home, your men killed people, your men looted...you...you..." The little angel began sobbing once more and Marcus stood and knealt by her side.

"This is war child and bad things must be done, but tell me what would take your tears away. I am a very powerful man and I would not deny you or your sister anything." The tears stopped and she looked up into his chisled face.

"Anything?" She asked.

"As long as it is within my power to do so, you have my word." Rachel looked back at Sarah and then back to Marcus.

"My friends...I dont want my friends to go away...and...and the temple of the Air Elementals, please spare it..." Marcus nodded, the temple of the Air Elementals was a beautiful building, one that he particularily was fond of, the statues were of Angels, pristine marble were they made of. Untold wealth was inside the building though, a tough choice.

"Notary! Take this down...her friends are to be given back their homes, as well as any family members. The temple of the Air Elementals are to be left alone...the priest are to be freed from bondage and any loot is to be returned." Rachel looked up to him in awe.

"See? I am not such a meanie after all."
