This is an idea I had in my head for awhile now, but I never had written it down before. Its rated PG-13...basically it will not have more violence then say an eppisode of Angel or Jericho for example. Synopsis: The earth lays in ruins through an impact by a killer Asteroid. For a small group of survivors living is just hard enough, but when an alien presence makes itself known...life gets interesting... *********************************** One hour before impact: John Gibbons rushed to finish throwing supplies into the back of his army issued hum vee, granted he 'borrowed' it from the base but he was a good soldier and the guard at the gate waved him on by. His neighbor Jason Charles was busy trying to get his wife and child into his r.v. "Where you heading Jason? Got family you can hold up with?" Jason smiled and shook his head. "No...we are just going to head north, some scientist guy said that damage would be less..." John frowned...he had a place high up in the mountains, bunkered to withstand a 100 megaton nuclear explosion, it was stocked with everything a person could need to last one hundred years. His plans were to get there and live out the oncoming appocolypse, but he trusted no one with that knowledge. Jason on the other hand was a decent man. His wife Martha was a doctor and his daughter was studying to be a journalist. They were the only family on the block that John bothered to talk to. "Hey listen Jason...I got me a place up in the mountains stocked with food and water and other necesities to last me awhile. You and yours were always kind to me so I am offering you a place there." Jason stopped and looked up to the sky where the Asteroid Ragnarok was growing brighter by the moment. "You sure John? I don't want to be a hassle or anything like that." From far away towards the city of Los Angelas fires were burning by men gone mad. The Santa Ana winds were blowing and John smiled. "Nonsence Jason, just keep up with me. Yor r.v should make it allright...but you will have to leave it and run a mile..." ******************** Ten minutes before impact: The finally made it up the trail, panting and with stitches in their side they watched John quickly enter the code to his bunker and quickly motioned inside when it was. There was an elevator that lead down to a small room. "This is it?" Jasons daughter asked with some disdain. John just smiled and motioned them to a door. "This is a decontamination room, if you go outside during a nuclear war you press this button and you will get soaked in enough water to get rid of any excess radiation. The real deal is through here... The place was huge and massive, piles of everything people could need was stored...fresh water...a massive fish tank...canned food...weapons...and that was just this room, from what they could see there was more to this place then evident. John checked his watch and swore. "Everyone down! Impact in ten seconds..." Sure enough ten seconds later the earth gave a mighty heave and darkness enveloped the survivors. |

2 ******************************** The alien warship hovered over the earth like a predator seeking prey. Sky Marhal Thraak T'chon rubbed his hands in eager anticipation of the harvest to come. It was easy to divert the asteroid to a course that would impact earth, it was easy to determine what size an asteroid would cause damage, but leave sufficient material left alive. "Sky Marshal, the Emperor sends his congratulations and salutes your bravery in the conquest of Earth. He commands the ground invasion to begin in one standard month, pending the arrival of the troop ships." The communications officer licked his lips in nervous anticipation, there was no telling what would set off the Sky Marshal. "Aknowledge the Emperor, send my thanks for his faith in my abilities." The Sky Marshal approached the view globe of the planet before him and flicked his tail in anticipation. He once again reviewed the information that he had, the invasion so far was a success, the earthlings did not detect the vessels approach and all went well. All went well of course until he caught a red flashing lite on the man at arms console. "Sir! Escape in slave bay...1..." The ship rocked through an internal explosion, Thraak T'chon stood firmly as the damage assesment came across his console. "Princess Ramona..." He whispered... ********************************** Princess Ramona was the only one that made it out alive, her compatriots gave their lives for her, so that she may escape and warn the rest of the galaxy of the betrayel that the Liz'aaard brought. Tears welled in her eyes as she remembered the men who valiantly through themselves in harms way, so that she may reach the slave ship that she flew in now. "Optimal landing vector compromised." The computer chimed. She quickly glanced at where she was heading and swore to the seven devines. A tall mountain area was rapidly approaching and she engaged the impact control system. Moments before impact foam erupted into the cabin that solidified into a sponge like substance, she barely felt the impact and again thanked the seven devines for her protection. But she was hurt, through the beatings that the Liz'aaard delt to her she was weakened. She swore vengence on her captors but realized that escape had to come first. If only this planet had a means to contact the outside universe then she could call in for back up... Getting out of the pod was a cinch, getting her survival supplies was a cinch, the terrain however...was not a cinch. "By the one below!" She swore. She was on an incline that dropped sharply down into a valley, if she had crashed just a few more feet then she might have escaped into void and made a very messy landing. ***************************** |
