Thought I'd get a jump on this early....

Yes I know the new season is still several weeks away but with all the things going on here and me trying to move to a house with a cheaper rent...

Word is that a couple gets engaged and married in Grey's Anatomy's season premiere but of course they are not sayiing exactly who....but that it is one of three couples...Callie and Arizona, Alex and Lexie, or Owen and Christina

Nice article in TVGuide about the new Hawaii 5-0 (Aug 16-29 issue with the cast on the cover or atleast on mine they are) I'll try to see if it's on the site and get a link here later.

edited to add TVGuide link

I never thought about it but the only one left off the original's cast is James MacArthur and the new 5-0 would love to get him to do a cameo. He still lives in Hawaii and is active in the theater community there at age 72.

Now for a rant....TvGuide also ha an article on who earns what in tv.....and I am shocked....Charlie Sheen is now making $1.25 million per episode for a 30 minute sitcom? Jon Cryer makes $550,000? Even the kid on the show makes $250,000 per week.

For a 30 minute sitcom. Some casts of hour long dramas don't pull down that kind of money....and I mean the whole main cast of usually about 5-7 people. Total.

Nice work and pay if you can get it

Mark: Charlie Sheen should have to pay them for giving him the gig.
I've never seen such a screwup get paid so much for doing so little.
He's not even that good of an actor.

I don't know about anyone else but I have never liked his show....

And I feel about Charlie Sheen like I do Jim Belushi.

I don't understand how their shows have been or were on as long as they have been.

In fact, Belushi has a new show on CBS this year and as much as I do like Jerry O'Connell ---his co-star---not sure I like him more than I dislike Belushi

Ah the power of advertising . These shows are targeted to the prime demographic & 2&1/2 nails it . I wtch occasionally.Sometimess I get disgusted & turn it off, sometimes I Howl .Conchata Ferrel who plays the Housekeeper is Hilarious .
I do wonder if Charlie ever actually Kills somebody, will they have him back on there ?
I do Think Charlie can act . I Know, just by looking at his eyes ,that he is Batshit Crazy.
Eric Roberts is playing Adam's lawyer on Y&R.He has somebody from celebrity rehab on the set with him to keep him sober .
Many of the ads I have seen for The Defenders have been disgusting .I know I will give it a look .I don't know how much I will watch .

I guess it does indeed target an audience I am not part of.

There have been some laugghs from it but generally I watch only because of the show following it...this year it was Big Bang Theory which I love

Just don't feel like changing the channel and besides most everything else is an hour long. I hate trying to watch only part of any show.

I've always had a soft spot for Eric Roberts and always hope he gets and stays sober. Guess it's more for his daughter Emma..a talented actress herself. Plus Julia....sometimes you wonder how two such different people came from the same family.

I'm just not feeling excitedfor many of the new shows this year...

Hawaii 5-0 of course

and No Ordinary Family...that's more about it being different...not another cop or doc show. Which makes me nervous for it's existence.

We all know that what people perceive of as genre shows...usually fantasy or sci-fi...take a while to build audience and the networks fgenerally don't give them time.

When I get it in gear & look up all the fall scheds I will have some idea if Friday will be as problematic as I think it might be.Because I have to choose between Jimmy Smits & Alex O Loughlin ,we gonna be doin's some channel flippin' fo sho .& Monday with Castle & Blue Bloodsor whatever Tom's new show is named .Oy Vey.Interested in No Ordinary Family too .But betting the idea gets old fast.

Did a quick check on NBC and CBS schedules....

NBC schedule

CBS schedule

The Event is on Mondays at 9 EST
Hawaii 5-0 is at 10 est Mondays

So no conflict there but....

Outlaw (Smits new show) is on Fridays at 10 EST
Blue Bloods is on at the same time CBS

Might have to check out Smits new show...love him and Fridays are usually dul...or rather I have trouble remembering what is on that night...

It's only Friday that I have a problem with and I'm not sure why exactly

I saw the CW preview last night it looked good . But of course a few weeks in some stuff will change anyway .I looked at the pages you linked to& last night I got a Happy answer to a question I had wondered about.I didn't know if Parenthood was coming back . I saw the ads . I think it's a Lovely show .
& of course I will be watching Chuck on Monday .
I am ticked that Heroes got dumped without a proper finale'.
Such is TV life .

I hate to admit it but I am kind of interested in Hellcats...

Cheerleaders....but it has 2 young actresses who are from old Disney series...Ashley Tisdale who was on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and then the High School Musical movies and Aly Michaka from several Disney movies and a series whose name I can not remember but it was about a family from the future who got stranded in our time. She was from our time.

May be good, may suck but I'll likely give it a try.

It's always nice when series know they are getting cancelled so they can give us some kind of wrap-up/finale....but it doesn't happen often. And I think they cancelled Heroes after they'd finished filming.

I have seen the promos . It looks like Fun & now I know why I recognized one of them as I too have occasionally watch the Suite Life .I also occasionally watch The Emperors New Groove but I cannot abide Power Rangers as it is too cheesy even for me . I have occasionally watched Hannah Montana too .
But my Fave Saturday Morning show is on NBC .
I Like Jane & the Dragon ,it's darling .

Power Rangers has always been on the cheesy side but I've watched most every year since the beginning first with the bonus/step son and then my two....some years are better than others but they lost us when they started airing the original Mighty Morphing Power Rangers.

The show is close to 20 years old and compared to later years really bad.

I hope they start airing Phineas and Ferb on ABC soon....I think you'd like it Linne. I actually go looking for it on Disney channel....

Another smart and fun kids show is The Penguins of Madagascar...spin off from the movie of several years ago. Those penguins are hilarious and just as devious as a penguin should be. It's on Nickelodeon tho.

Good deal...

My mom gave away tons of yarn to one of the local nursing home.
Of course two years later, my daughter took up crochet and knitting. And now has her own yarn collection.

You know I can remember when I was a kid and cartoons started at 7am and went until noon.

Now they have news shows until 8 or so and then cartoons. Of course that's just the networks who expand the weekday morning chats into the weekend. But then again the local news have added an hour on Sat and three hours Sun am.
