Mark: By the way, Starshipp...did you notice the CALENDER feature this board has? You'll find the link to "Calender" in the upper right-hand corner of the main forum page. If you click it, it'll take you to a screen where the entire month comes up (you can dial up future months, also), and you may add events to this calender, including birthdays, and other big events. There are more features to the Calender, but I'll let you explore it, and find out about them from experience.

I added several Calender events today...including a couple of Apogee Member Birthdays (AMB's heeheehee), and a couple of very famous American's birthdays. Even St. Valentine's Day is noted, and if you click on the Calender event link on each individual date, I post some informative facts in many of these events. Try Lincoln's Birthday, for a good example. You can also access those links at the bottom of the main FORUM INDEX page when you log-in.

Again, try out Lincoln's Birthday

Interesting, I'll check it out when I have time.

Meanwhile, George Washington's birthday was Feb 11, 1732. 30 years later England changed calendars to incorporate leap year and we changed with them. That jumped George's birthday to Feb 22! 11 days disappeared! :o :D

Instead of starting a new thread for each holiday, I thought I'd just say:

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! :D

Mark gets all the credit for those.

I've been so busy with work and just life in general....and not being able to sleep very well...that I haven't been doing as much heavy lifting around here as I should.

But once I have everything in RL adjusted and chugging along smoothly... ...watch out! :D

I'm watching! :D

You know, in my college days, I needed to stay up one night to study for a final exam. Never had been able to do it before, and since I was studying psychology, I decided to try self hypnosis to make myself stay awake all night and the next day. Worked so well I couldn't get to sleep for 4 days! (I'd forgotten to put a time limit on it and had to do self hypnosis again to be able to sleep again. ;) I wonder if the reverse would work for you Calli? :o

Mark: I also added a group hug emoticon for just such occassions... :grouphug:
They didn't have one with a group hug in a hot tub. :D

:mischievous: You are getting sleepy, Callista...:mischievous: you will sleep like a bear in hybernation tonight, and feel totally rested in the morning...:scratchin: I hope that works.

Something has got to work.

I've decaffeinated myself again....I'm taking Lunesta. And you know how I hate to rely on meds like that. Each night has been a little bit longer sleep. Just not a complete night yet.

I'm still waking up at 3am but at least now I am able to go back to sleep at least for a short while. I'm really thinking that there is someone up and rumbling around in their vehicle here in the subdivision waking me up...thus the reason for my wide awake state without knowing why. (because the sound wakes me up and is gone before I am alert enough to know what and why)

And then the train rumbles thru about 4am. No, I'm not close to it...it's about 2 miles away but the noise has really been carrying around here lately, I'm guessing due to atmospheric conditions.

Yep, this nice quiet subdivision (usually) has gotten noisier lately what with the other one across the woods..only about maybe a football field length's distance...has been having more people moving in and building new houses....and with new houses comes new people...and more noise

We have a new subdivision going in a two blocks away, so I know what you mean. Sure makes the roads busier, but I like a lot of the people who have moved in! We'll have 90 new homes in the neighborhood when all is said and done!
