It has major balancing issues, the terrain is unappealing, bad character choices(example: sasuke) and technical issues.

Balance seems off.

The flavor isn't all that great. Tool-tips seem messy and characters are extremly bland.

The tileset is fugly.

Can it be good? Sure. What do you think this forum was made for? This place has a shit ton of great ideas... you just didn't use any.

I played this yesterday and I was unimpressed.

While I do appreciate you guys trying to make an updated version of AF, it lacks appeal because many of the concepts used are simply re-implemented from the original.

For instance, the tomes, potions, and items all are the same.

The terrain looks like something I could do in 15 minutes, and the removal of the boss in the upper left and the removal of the bank in the lower left almost requires some sort of replacement to make the map more interesting.

The heroes seem to just be a re-hash of the old heroes, not to mention there are fewer of them, and like several others have already posted; there is a lack of balance (which obviously takes time to get right).

The boss in the upper right corner is a poor remake of rena (she was added just for fun anyway) and it's the same item that is dropped.

There are also some serious gameplay issues that need to be addressed, such as the fact that there isn't a team balancing command, you can run back into your base with no repercussion and nothing that prevents you from entering, you cannot adjust the spawn time of the creeps, and there are no debug commands (remember how much time -duel saved when something went wrong?).

I would not call this map a beta. This is clearly in the alpha stages. The original AF was still in beta on it's final release 1.400. It was a good beta, but it underwent many changes for gameplay improvements, balancing issues, and other things; in fact, it has much, much, more room for improvement, this is probably why you decided to re-make it.

This map right here (http://forum.valor-zeal.org/viewtopic.php?f=92&t=770) is another example of a good beta. Much of the core content is already established, balance is decent, yet has plenty of room for improvement and the last few levels are not completed. I highly reccomend playing this map (with a team of players that knows what they're doing) to see how polished this is. It is in english.

I do have some positive things to say. This is a good first attempt at recreating this map. Do not be afraid to make your own heroes and implement your own original gameplay concepts. It does not have to be a carbon copy of AF, it only has to loosely resemble the map and the arena style with a duel system; everything else can be your own ideas.

the idea to copy heroes and somethings of AF was to make player who tries this map feel at home especialy ones who likes AF, about balance that takes time and a lot of feedback about that helps a lot, and things like the base without repercussion we already knows that and in the next version its already taken care with our own system
