This topic is all about Fate/Unlimited Codes the brand new Fate/Stay Night arcade game coming out in japan sometime within the next year.

Cast of Characters(thus far):
Rin Tohsaka
Emiya Shirou(With Archer's arm)
Future Shirou(aka Archer)
Saber
Caster
Lancer
Assassin
Rider
Berserker
Gilgamesh

There are also rumours of Dark Saber being a boss in the game. Also there are rumours of both Sakura and Kitsuragi being characters. There is no confirmation on these rumours thuse far though, as none of them have been seen in any gameplay videos or any kind of trailer.

The game seems to feature a gameplay much alike Soul Calibur III while still maintain much more dramatic Super Techniques(Sorry, Unlimited Bladeworks has not be confirmed or shown thus far for either Shirou or Archer to use. Only Excalibur, EnimaElish, Lancer's Gaes Bulga, Sojiro/Assasin's Tsubame, and Caster's unnamed Supers have been shown thus far).

A quick note on the gameplay of each of the CONFIRMED characters:

Rin Tohsaka - Has weak melee attacks, but mostly very spammable magical blasts.
Emiya Shirou - Mainly brunt melee Punch/Kick attacks. However it has been confirmed he CAN call forth a Servant's weapon. We do not know which and that thus far he has only been confirmed with Saber's Excalibur being used in a downward slash then breaking, and there are slight glispes of what would be Shirou calling forth Archer's signature blades.
Future Shirou/Archer - Seems to have a very powerful distance gainer move much like teleportation, fighting style focuses mainly on his two short swords. None of his techniques are known.
Saber - Seems to be working much like Siegfried in Soul Calibur III by taking Stances prior to performing moves. Excalibur is fully visible in current videos, if it will stay that way is said to be in question between the developers as it would give Saber a unique edge.
Caster - Much like Rin in gameplay, except that her spells are more powerful but slower. Likewise does not seem to have any melee moves at all. Was shown with an interesting 'Shield' move however.
Lancer - Gameplay is much as can be expected of him. There are rumours saying his spear will be able to be thrown, but there is no concrete evadence at this time.
Assassin - Seems to play very slowly and most moves are said to have a instant defense function.
Rider - All Around. Can throw her weapons, or use them in melee range. Likewise her "Grab" move(Assuming I'm calling this right) seems to work from afar rather than close-up and works after a successful ranged attack hits if a combination is pressed.
Berserker - Playstyle unknown. Was only beaten upon in gameplay trailers/videos. Has not been shown attacking yet. How his 12 lives will play into the game is unknown but speculated to be translated as intense health regeneration throughout fights.
Gilgamesh - All Around. Has been shown to Throw swords, and likewise seems to use Enima Elish as his main default weapon.

Vocal Cast: All the characters in the game thus far are using their Anime Vocal Cast for this new game.

Storyline?: Given that Shirou has Archer's arm grafted onto him, it can be assumed the game follows the storyline of the original visual novels rather than the anime. How storyline will be used in this game is currently unknown.

Graphics: The graphics seemed to be of very high quality while still maintaining the feel of the characters. In short: Anime-ish but detailed. However it seems to be only a step above the fan-made "Fatal/Fake" game.

That's about all I know(That I can recall) at this time. If I recall something else I'll update this post, or if someone posts more information.

So Rejoice! We have an OFFICIAL Fate/ video game of the fighting genre coming out!

P.S. : Rumours are circling around the game will also involve something from the storyline of Fate/Zero.

Sorry Haku. It's already been confirmed that Fate/Unlimited Codes is a Arcade-Only release. It's going to Japan Arcades.

Most likely there will not be a US port due to the level of popularity of arcades in america being very low in comparison to Japan.

However it is nice to see gameplay of Berserker. He seems extremely faster than one would imagine of him.
Likewise I also hadn't seen Archer use his Broken Fantasm thus far yet, that was also nice to see. But I'm disappointed that your link was just gameplay trailers. It didn't give samples of voices or hero CGs. I can upload mine to megaupload or something if you wish.

-_- While I know there will no doubt be a ps2/ps3(Hopefully ps3) port of the game. And enjoy your optimism. However, it was stated it would be Arcade-Only. Very Specifically Arcade-Only.

You never know. Based on Type-Moon's lack of Fate/Stay fighting
games, this most likely is going to hit the Ps2 after its arcade release.

*watches trailer....sees awesome Capcom/Type-Moon game....pants falls down* :adore:

Lack of fighting games? We had the chibi fighter for psp. Then we had the three fan-made fighter games, from Fate/Unlimited Swords to Fatal/Fake to Fate/Endless Nights. Fatal/Fake was pretty good in itself.
Type Moon themselves haven't had much of a great fighting game history. Fate/Tiger Roar(I believe this was the announced US name for the upcoming 2008 release), Melty Blood(And all it's remakes) are rather...unbalanced and...less than amazing. Fate/Tiger Roar is only good becuase it includes Archer.

But if this game hits ps2, that is gonna be one awesome game and I know they would get a lot of money from it. So yeah, its highly likely they are going for the ps2 after the arcade release. Just look at the DDR, Tekken, and Soul Caliber series.

Slight problem with your comparison:

1. DDR is fine to list.

2. Tekken stated it would go to console upon it's FIRST game release and has continued that statement to current day.

3. Soul Calibur's series have all gone to Console. In Soul Calibur 3's case, there originally wasn't going to even be an arcade version.

Honestly though, I'd much rather a PS3 port than PS2. Better capabilities, the game could be better with it. Not sure why you would want a PS2 port anymore.

That's Arcade games for you, really though.
Look at the difference in graphics between any Soul Calibur game and it's Console Counterpart.
SCI Arcade to Console: MAJOR Difference.
Most Notabley SCIII Console to Arcade: Console is STILL better somehow.

The same applies to most games.

Either way, I'm pretty certain at this point that both Dark Saber and Sakura will be in the game becuase:

A. Dark Saber would just be a reskin on Regular saber...almost. Same movesets, red tinting on some effects. Probabley disclude Avalon from her movelist and make her other attacks more damaging?
B. Shirou has Archer's Grafted Arm in him. Something that only happens in Fate/Heaven's Feel.
C. Sakura's techniques could use those during the anime even if those are just Holy Grail moves...But same applies to the rumoured Kitsuragi, no?

Also, assuming I'm correct and Fate/Unlimited Codes IS based off Heaven's Feel, there's a chance that we might not see:
Unlimited Blade Works
*Cries*
Sad but true. Then again Unlimited Blade Works wasn't in the Fate/Stay Night game either, but still ended up in the anime(In the game Archer takes out SIX, not five, of Berserk's lives without using UBW).
Plus that moves is just badassery, considering he could use any move in the game excluding none. Since UBW is a spell to basically give him all materials he needs to recreate any weapon that he lays his eyes on. And Avalon would also be allowed since he HAS reached it once prior as Shirou at the end of the Fate/Stay Night scenario(considered Canon now).
It's just that his version of each hero's supers would be downgraded in damage wise becuase of that certain limitation.

Plus the fact that Unlimited Blade Works is rather a difficult spell to add in a fighting game...Especially in a non-2D one.

Define "Soon".
It'd be a minimum of Six months AFTER the arcade release, as is often the case of Arcade-Games(Saying that they'll be Arcade-Only or otherwise).

So I'd say a minimum of Eight Months assuming Fate/Unlimited Codes is instanted within the next two months.

Actually, the arcade game is going to be out either already or within the next month and I think they said the ps2 version will be out June-October of this year something.

The following has been confirmed by the newest video on Type-moon:

Kitsurugi is INDEED a playable character.
As is Sakura(Dark).
No word on Dark Saber.
Archer's Unlimited Bladeworks plays out just as in the game Fatal/Fake.
Shirou can indeed recreate other heroes' weapons. During the newest video at typemoon.com he demonstrates using Berserker's sword and perhaps what is the game's version of Nine Lives Bladeworks from Fate/Heaven's Feel.

I personally believe that Fate/Unlimited Codes will be the media recreation of Fate/Heaven's Feel judging from everything.

The Stay Night scenario was recreated as the Anime, taking parts from UBW and Heaven's Feel.
The Unlimited Bladeworks scenario was recreated as the Manga, taking nothing from it's sister scenarios.
The Heaven's Feel scenario will probabley be recreated as the Game. I state this becuase the following hint so:
-Specific ONLY to the Heaven's Feel scenario things-
-Shirou has Archer's Grafted Left Arm.
-Dark Sakura is a character.

Which makes one wonder if True Assassin will also be an available character. Or Zoken perhaps?
