Ami, have you ever seen X, either of the VHD movies, Wicked City, or Ninja Scroll? If you havent then I highly reccomend seeing them, you may feel differently about all other anime other than the one's you mentioned being crap then. It's kinda hard to find them since they're kinda old, but they are all fantastic films that were critically acclaimed as greats when they were released and for a long time afterwards, even if they are considered "cult classics" by today's standards. |

I can not tell, is it just me or do we all look just like Adolph fucking Hitler with this swoopy emo-boy dreamy haircut dangling in our faces, making us all indescribably indistinguishable from each other; or maybe I'm just another megalomaniac? | |

I did but I didn't like the drawing style of X. And Ninja Scroll is kinda *ed up. However I don't know Wicked City maybe I'll take a look at it. Now on the other hand, did you see mushishi or karas? Mushishi has an awesome drawing style, probably the best I've ever seen and the story is amazing too. Now Karas is more of a modern anime, it has CGI sequences embedded into the traditional anime art. The story is a bit weird but the fighting scenes are mind blowing.

I haven't even heard of those, but they sound pretty good. I'll keep an eye out. Oh, btw, if you thought Ninja Scroll was f'ed up then maybe you should stay away from Wicked City. It's a great movie IMO, but it's pretty controversial because of the heavy violence and multiple * scenes, many of them involving rape in some form. However, while the animation is dated, it's very smooth and the fight scenes are pretty damn sweet, and to top it all off some of the creature designes are really freakishly awesome. Also, if you get the chance, you should check out Vampire Hunter D and Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust (bloodlust especially). They've got a really good story to each of them, and the original follows the story of the first book almost perfectly (only real problem I remember is that they mixed up the haircolors of Doris and Count Lee's daughter). The fighting is also pretty awesome too. |

FMA wasn't jsut an awesome Anime, but it had the best voice-acting out of all of the other Adult Swim anime.(The manga and novels were kinda whacked after you finish the FMa anime.) Furi Kuri had great voice-acting too, but the series was one episode to short to enjoy. |

I need to see this karas stuff sounds pretty cool. I don't like darker animes so I'm gonna stay away from vamp hunter d, ninja scrolls, wicked city cause I don't know it's just not very appealing to me. I didn't see Lotus war on the list either though and that's not a bad series. Besides princess mononoke I'd have to say my favorites were Trigun (Vash is too funny and alot of the characters are well developed) Outlaw Star (good story interesting anime) Wolfs rain (confusing if you just jump in it however very good anime) FMA (what's to say it's FMA) fooly cooly (so bizzare it's a good thing) Samurai Shamploo (I see to many repeats need to buy a dvd box set or somethin) Cowboy bebop (why wouldn't this be a favorite) For Love and Peace, see you again cowboys! |

^ I agree with most of insane's choices, though I've never seen outlaw star/wolf rain. Trigun is awesome, Cowboy bebop is very good, Samurai champloo IMO isn't great as an action anime but some episodes are just hilarious (esp episode 23). FLCL is just plain wacky, and...well, I don't really like FMA much. As for others I like... YuYu Hakusho is decent, and it's the only good anime my library has so I've seen almost to the end. Full metal panic: Fumoffu is just hilarious, and actually has excellent english VA's. Black Cat I've started to watch recently, and it's pretty good. For some reason it reminds me a bit of Trigun. Excel saga competes with FLCL for the title of weirdest anime ever, and can be pretty funny at times. Just don't watch too much at once. And Lupin the 3rd can be funny as well, though it's pretty old and the animation is a bit dated. Of course, Princess mononoke > all those.:P |

You've never seen Outlaw Star? That sucks, it's an awesome show. Great action, crazy story, good animation, and funny as hell. |
